  • Brad Lancaster shows you how the valve choice (and hose size choice) for your gravity-fed (free gravity is your only "pump") rainwater tank makes a big difference in water flow.
    The better the flow, the more you'll happily use your free harvested rainwater, instead of other imported waters that you have to pay for via a utility bill, a pump, and/or power costs.
    The key is to make it more convenient and more joyful to do the right thing, while also reducing costs and complexity.

    A little bit of wisdom and even useful here in the Netherlands. I would have to look at the municipal rules for watertanks but I think you could build them that hight. Especially with waterbarrels for watering your garden here being so encouraged. Food for thought.

      Hi Alex, in the Netherlands you can often get a subsidy for rainwater inflitration and cutting your raingutter pipe.
      kijk eventjes bij je gemeente naar de mogelijkheden voor "afkoppelen hemelwater" en de installatie van een WADI. water afvoer drainage infilitratie. De subsidie is vaak 10 euro per m2 afgekoppeld dakoppervlak. bij mij werkt deze uitstekend.
