Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood parasites, meaning they lay their eggs in other birds’ nests instead of building their own. The other birds end up raising the cowbird chicks as their own, which can be exhausting for some birds because the cowbird chicks are so much bigger than their adoptive parents.
