It was such a challenging grammar test, because I disagree with two questions: How long did you stay in New York? In this one the correct preposition is "in" instead of "at" because it is a whole place in general, therefore "in" fits in there right before "New York". "At" is only used for very specific areas of any place. If the question were this way "How long did you stay at New York center?" it would have been correct putting the preposition "at" because it's emphasizing a particular area of the city, it's something specific. The other question was "The main shops are at the city centre" I'd be disagreeably confused because I guess it's referring to a specific area or ground, it's not in general and it should be "at" instead of "in" as I already explained above. Finally, my overall score was 22/25 without counting those two mistakes that are unacceptable to me and I think they got them wrong (the owner or the staff of this channel).
Have to support you, friend. I made the same two mistakes according to the answers they provided as correct. New York like a city has edges, geographically and physically and you are inside of them. Means you can be anywhere in the city. No specific location.
Hi again! I am very concerned with the question 21. Since we have here a dynamic situation any prepositions should be used. We should use "at home" only with a static situation such as I'm at home. What do you think about it?
Um. The answer to question 21 (and 8 too, as it is the same) is just wrong here in the test. It's 'arrive home', not 'arrive at home'. 19 is wrong too. It's 'in New York', not 'at New York'.
Is it “How long did you stay “at” New York or How long did you stay “in” New York? My answer is in! I’m just a bit confused, just look Q19. But this is very helpful. Thanks
I too had a doubt like this but now i have an understanding on this that means use in when a capital city or country mentioned and at in anyother cities..
I think that I got 25/25. NOTE: Your answer about the sentence: "How long did you stay...New York?" is "at"(!) I believe that the correct answer is "in"! (New York is a city and before the name of a city we must use the preposition "in") Please,I am waiting for your answer about this matter. Anyway, thank you, teacher, for this interesting quiz.
Sorry to bring this up, but if all your answers are the same as the test says, it means that you've made at least three mistakes (technically, it's two, seeing as 8 and 21 are the same).

Hello @English For Free, thanks for this great, I got 23/25 😛 - still got a lot to improve 😊 To all, I would like to have your opinions: 1. Question 11: I was tired, so I stayed in bed late - could I use "on bed" instead? What is the difference between "on" and "in" bed? 2. Question 16: Is there a restaurant in the station - could I use "at the station" instead? Thank you very much for any. of your comment - cheers and nice day 😄
I think both are correct, in means inside the train station, but if you say at* it is not specifically if there is one inside but if there is a toilet anywhere near the station. That's why in would be more correct
For Q11, when we use "on bed" it usually means that we are on top of the bed. When we use "in bed" it usually means that we in bed with a blanket covering us. So using "on bed" will be wrong cuz the sentence says "I was tired" so its odd to say "I was tired, so I stayed 'on bed' late" and it certainly makes no sense! For Q16, I think the correct answer would indeed be "at the station" because we don't ask "Is there a restaurant 'in' the station?" Using 'at' specifies a place. When we say "in a room" it's says that we are inside the room but when we say 'in India', it's not confined to any particular place but we still are inside India. And we don't say "at India", do we? 😅 Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. Hopefully I explained it in a good way. Have a wonderful day!
I answered all correct. It is (at) or (in) after stay? I stay at or in New York. Since New is a big city and must take (in) not (at). Please clarify it.😮
Thank you for the video, I got 24/25. The punctuation is not correct for most of the sentences that start with the interrogtive words. There is a need for question marks, not full stop. Thank you once again. Please keep up doing more videos.
