Im watching all of his stuff. What a really nice guy. A true entertainer. You know what I like is when someone can just pick up a guitar and play and it sounds just perfect and Colin is one of those people who does that so effortlessly.
Everything everyone is saying here about him is true. I met him in Oz just over 5 years ago and we had a chat afterwards. He was genuinely interested in talking to me partly because I'm Scottish and he wondered what made me go to Oz. A very nice and sincere guy who played a great gig. Everyone should see his shows while he is still performing.
So far my favourite interview of Colin Hay! The man is charming, humble and has a wonderful sense of humour and the interviewer is lovely and authentic!
I saw him in a venue in London in 1995 playing to about one hundred people, most of whom didn't seem to be paying attention to the music. It was an acoustic gig but Colin played really well to a disinterested crowd and was completely professional. I remember thinking at the time that it was hard to credit that he had fronted up MAW who played to huge crowds of up to 250,000 at their peak in the eighties, and yet he still cared enough to play to a somewhat smaller crowd and give it all he had. The measure of the man. He always comes across very well in interviews.
I saw him 2 years ago to probably the same size crowd and there wasn't a whisper in the room. Just pure heaven. Goes to show the respect he has gained and why all his shows are sold out.
I saw him in 2009 in a large club, with maybe 150 people there. He played an incredible set and met fans afterwards. Great musician and really nice guy
What a guy🤣, No pretensions. Love his acoustic guitar sound and that voice... I have sung along to his songs since down under hit UK chart no. 1 spot, I'm getting good... but I'm no Colin Hay. Thank you Mr Hay for so many great songs and the good memories they bring back 🧡
The more I see of this guy the more I admire him ! He is a musical genius who could easily have been an equally great comedian :o) Brilliant stuff ! Please dont ever stop Colin :o)
That episode rekindled my love of Overkill so much so I included it in my set from that day on. Still listen to Business as Usual. Great band, great album and Colin Hay is such a great talented guy.
Seems to happen to a lot of the Scottish imports. They learn to speak aussie as a kid to stop being beaten up at school then it filters back as adults.
Vraiment cool Colin Hay, un vrai talent, bravo... Si vous voulez rire un peu, allez faire un tour directement à la neuvième minutes de l'interview, vous ne serez pas décu !!!
To be still working at 80 pretty impressive. Keeps your mind active. His voice is the same as with men at work ; didn't know he was with toto. A brilliant Scott. Drunk people- you play that better than the original.
Yes he did . I will probably upload it at some stage, I missed the first part of the song, only the first couple of lines, but it still shows his brilliance on 12 string. The song was "I haven't seen you in a long time" Keep watching this space.
She talks about him having the "Aussie" sense of humour. As good as that may be, Colin has more of the typical Scottish sense of humour, I think. Whatever, he's a very funny and talented guy.
I don't know if he is purposely controlling his lazy eye, if so I wish he wouldn't! I adore that lazy eye and in my eyes it makes him sexy and alluring. Eyes of the beholder. I prefer corks in people, like Pam Griers slanted mouth, Mila Kunis two different color eyes etc.
Colin was on comedian Pete Holmes podcast "You Made it Weird" recently. 2 hours of Colin sharing stories and songs. A great listen if you appreciate Colin's work. soundcloud.com/youmadeitweird/colin-hay
I never knew he was scottish. Man thats mental because Acdc, arguably Australia's biggest band, were mainly made up of second generation Scottish immigrants.
@@officialclairegmusician No Problem. There is also a song he played as an intro to the interview. This is also on my page uploaded at much the same time. Just scroll to the bottom of my videos.
What a wonderful interviewer. She let him tell his stories without interruption, she was calm yet adoring.
No words can describe the love I have for this man and his music and Men at Work. Their music literally saved my life.
That's a lovely tribute bro.
I interviewed Colin and I still recall the honest, sincere and direct answers. He is great!

"Im watching all of his stuff." - So do I. ;)
I'll never tire of this. Colin Hay is one of the most charming men I've ever met. Oh, and one of the most talented as well! :)

This interviewer is simply elegant and so skilled to bring out the best of her guest. Wonderful interview!
WOW
Wonderful interview of a fantastic musician.
Kerrie Ann sure is a beautiful lady & a great interviewer.
From a 71yo Aussie fan.
wow hes such a humble guy
One of the best singer songwriters ever.
All great comments..nothing to add really...oh alll right then, I am in absolute awe of this hugely talented, humble REAL man 🤩
Colin is way funnier than most stand up comedians!
he still is now. he used to have a full blown aussie accent in the 80's did he put on?
Harlan Mayor I love his anecdote about the friend who was singing "It's a Beautiful World" when he encounters a shark.
He mentioned once that he took on an Australian accent to blend in at school. He apparently spoke in his native Scottish accent at home
what a lovely , lovely bloke !
What a guy🤣, No pretensions.

Thank you Mr Hay for so many great songs and the good memories they bring back 🧡
I just saw him for the third time last week. He is a wonderful presence on stage.
The more I see of this guy the more I admire him ! He is a musical genius who could easily have been an equally great comedian :o) Brilliant stuff ! Please dont ever stop Colin :o)
Watching that just lifted my whole day.
Wow, that chemistry between Colin and the interviewer. The Lady is top notch.
He a natural comedian. This was absolutely hilarious. The interviewer was in stitches.

True Scotsman ❤
I can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of missing another great colin hay video
Dude is a lover of music, not someone who got into the art to be a "rock star", and it shows in the quality of his music.
Absolutely ! !
Love his guitar playing and his music. Learning his tabs is awesome
His cameo on Scrubs t.v. show
doing "Overkill" was really good
I thought.
A cool, quirky show and Colin
was amazing on it.
That episode rekindled my love of Overkill so much so I included it in my set from that day on. Still listen to Business as Usual. Great band, great album and Colin Hay is such a great talented guy.
Awesome...badass...honesty...he will be a star forever.
Indeed! in fact he spent the first 14 years of his life in Scotland.
People in Morwell appreciate great music. And glass eyes, real or imagined.
great guy love him !
“Waggin’ a flave” 😆😆😆 Classic Colin! Good on ya, mate 😉
I didn't realize he'd already reverted back to his Scottish accent as early as the mid 90s.
Seems to happen to a lot of the Scottish imports.
They learn to speak aussie as a kid to stop being beaten up at school then it filters back as adults.
That's some fancy guitar work!
what a great warm guy
I thought you said, 'what a great warm-up guy', LOL

Bloody genius.
I wish they would put Kerrie Anne back on the TV - she really was a phenomenal interviewer
I wish I could have my hair like him :)
truly a class act all the way....
I'm an American and even I think Colin haye is funny as shit hahaha especially the bit abt drunk people and glass eyes
"Where did you get your glass eye?"
"I don't have a glass eye."
"Then what's it made of?"
What a guy... It's so easy to relate to him as a regular guy who made it pretty big. Cudo's...
Seems a great guy.
Genius! and funny!
Legend!
Never knew he was Scottish
Good job....
She talks about him having the "Aussie" sense of humour. As good as that may be, Colin has more of the typical Scottish sense of humour, I think. Whatever, he's a very funny and talented guy.

@@stuartmenziesfarrantDon’t forget Bon Scott who formed the band was Scottish 🏴
He's great
Colin doesn't sound like an Aussie , sounds like a Scotsman .
Sandy Sandy Keen ear. He is actually from Scotland, but he moved to Australia when he was fourteen.

great guy, really enjoy his singing and songwriting but I wish he had stayed an australian citizen and kept his aussie accent
A bit? Holy Shite!!
He sounds like he still has a bit of a Scottish accent.
I never knew he was scottish. Man thats mental because Acdc, arguably Australia's biggest band, were mainly made up of second generation Scottish immigrants.
What year was this
1996
🆗️ How do you know that
@@officialclairegmusician Because I recorded it off the TV and the tape is labelled.
It's my upload. You asked for the date. I replied.
Hahaha 😂 Sorry 😁

@0:16 Did he just flick off the interviewer?
I see Colin has lost his assie accent well he did come from Saltcoats in Scotland
2021
I'm thinking Kerri Anne is quite taken away by Colin's charm
Take a shot for every "y'know"
😂😂😂😂
