Looks like an excellent piece of gear and has held great after 1,000 miles. Thanks for keeping us up to date! Cheers

It’s the best 100 I spent on backpacking clothing the warmth to weight is just unbeatable same for me it’s my warmth in summer and I use it as a base layer in winter , the hood fits little weird on me but definitely not a deal breaker
    Great review buddy 🤙

Thanks! I have noticed that Quicksand and your hood both fit differently it looks like than mine. Not sure if they changed it up or my melon is just that big!

I just ordered one to use next to skin under a strong fleece 280. It gets crazy cold here in the mountains of western PA. I'm sure I'll get other use out of it than hunting. Also getting the Marino 145 t zip, both with no hood. My strong fleece 280 has a hood. That thing is amazing for all the thicker it is.

I will have to check out the 280 if I need something warmer, thanks for watching and commenting!

one thing to note, those thumb holes are designed to help layer versus constant wearing around thumb. you should definitely send this into Kuiu tho!

Gotcha, I definitely use them to layer but I guess I assumed they were designed to be similar to a sun hoody where they can provide some protection/warmth. Debating on sending it back as it appears that they redesigned the hood or I just have a much larger head than several of the more recent folks that have bought one!

@@LeonidasontheTrail there is definitely a lot of new versions of products coming out. A looser fitting, warm weather price is the new-ish Gila hoodie. Good luck man! 🤙

What temps do you hike in it? I just bought an Outdoor Vitals Hoodie that is just coming out on the market. I am trying to like them as a company, but the two things I have bought so far I am not totally impressed yet. Happy Hiking

I have hiked in it down to ~16 degrees and it is generally comfortable up until the 50's for me. To wear it when it is warmer than that, it generally has to be fairly windy.

@@LeonidasontheTrail generally I am hiking in a long sleeve tee shirt at 50. I have bought an alpaca wool pullover when it is down in the 40’s. Thank you for the reply!
