Wind is always a killer in the mountains your core temperature just has to drop a few degrees for you to start suffering hypothermia. Therefore you must have decent quality wnid cheaters. Your own survival clothing must be on your person. You must be fit enough to carry 5 or 6 kg on your back not on the ponies back. Simple gear like a bivvy bag easily available on amazon should be invested in and kept in your ruck sack. They are small and light and can save you from dying of hypothermia. Always ask your trekking company for a copy of their risk assessment plan. If they don't have an adequate assessment don't go with them. It doesn't take long to lose your life in the mountains.
Great valid points raised 🙏
