He was better than Max at basically every round except for the last two, which just meant that he lost because they're dumb high multis. Overall he definitely played better than Max.
For everyone who also struggles with these European rounds like this --> 13:28 Almost every country in Europe has its own unique manhole cover and the one in Germany is actually the easiest to remember imo.
Me as a German (who doesn't play geoguessr): Oh yes, that is indeed a German manhole cover! I always find it amazing how many little things you can, but also have to, pay attention to!
Hey Oscar not sure if you like it. But there is this game called HideAndSeekWorld. Its very fun you have to choose a location in the world to hide and the other players need to find you. Really cool to use your Geoguessr knowledge
Hey man, great video! I find your content very professional. Thumbnails, pacing and editing on point. Geoguessr is a great game to play competitive and worlds was a huge success. Its also great to watch with its short tension packed matches where it gets more & more exciting with multis. I think the scene is gonna pop off big time, i hope you will stay consistent and keep pushing hard towards your personal goals and to grow your channel. Wish you all the best!
@zi8zag 6:49 one thing I’ve noticed with countries that have harsh winters up north like the Scandinavian countries, is that the winter coverage tends to be more south and they tend to do the more summery coverage up north. This has gotten me countless times with Norway especially, and also Japan, they seem to have more fall/winter coverage in Kyushu for example. Not a surefire thing of course, but it’s a pattern I’ve started to notice…
That round with Max was a prime example of the silly high multis screwing you up yet again - you were by far the better player across that game but still lost due to one round which wasn't even that bad or different of a guess to your opponent.
So they add specific locations to these maps right? The thing I don't understand about this game is why don't they make a game mode where it just loads you both into ANY random coordinate on street view? That would eliminate any possibility of repeat rounds
I think that’s harder to add than it seems - the google maps API doesn’t have a “random street view” location feature, so the alternative would be to pick random coordinates and find the nearest street view. That works on paper, but in practice, you end up in the ocean most of the time and so coastal rounds and strange photospheres from the ocean are very disproportionate. The solution would be to mark polygons where land is and pick points within there, but street view within countries isn’t spread out evenly. If you imagine iceland or mongolia, picking points randomly and choosing the closest street view will very rarely get you rounds within the centers of cities as opposed to the outskirts of cities. So GeoGuessr’s solution is to have a huge database of possible locations, and then it can either pick within those polygons (which it skews based on player ratings, which gives pretty poor results), or gives the players the ability to choose points for maps. Luckily though there’s a bunch of scripts that auto generate tons of points without player input. They should fix the skewing on the polygon defined maps and add more points to their database.
Because he says "shit" once? *lol* Your threshold for being family friendly is very low. Besides, it doesn't have to be family-friendly, this is probably not a typical family programme.
He did actually play better than his opponent though - he won basically all the rounds except for the two at the end where the slight losses were amplified by the silly high multis.
Sorry for the short first duel, i was so unusual bad, the Mexico round was so embarrassing. It doesn't look like Mexico.
not embarrassing at all, you were up against one of the best players in the world which would make me nervous lol, and you guys had some tough rounds
no worries bro, ggs, you’ll come back stronger next time

@@zi8gzag you did actually play better than Max that game though - it was just those silly multis at the end costing you YET AGAIN!
