This game is never getting a rerelease version, people just like to demonize Atlus (kind of fair obviously but you know). And yeah we totally agree, I think I mentioned before what I mainly care about is relaxing Tartarus gameplay because I can be a lax dungeon crawler enjoyer, so as long as the story changes aren't really bad I don't mind those, and conceptually I'm fine with them shaking things up especially with what we've seen so far with Strega actually having some presence. I am curious if you've heard any of the theories that Reload is about Elizabeth bringing Makoto back though, since she has the only returning English VA and there are a few potential oddities like her singing a song that's only present in Arena in one of the trailers. Some people think that there might be a pseudo-Answer thing going on between February and March, which I'm not totally sold on, but I also wouldn't be surprised. After some other game series shenanigans I've decided to never fully reject crazy leaks or theories and I also don't want the resolution to be Makoto surviving, but a pseudo-Answer could still be cool. Maybe Elizabeth simply realizes what death fully is herself? We will see
Glad we're on the same page regarding the re-release thing, and yea Atlus does deserve pushback for their DLC practices in general. Wouldn't be surprised if P6 does the enhanced version thing but it'd be nice if they'd simply charge an upgrade fee instead of requiring the purchase of a whole new game. The Elizabeth thing is interesting. Her being the only returning VA probably indicates something, but I really hope it's not that she went to an alternate timeline to find a solution. Even though FFVII Remake's ending was too much, I think the concept of what Square is doing works because it makes sense in the context of the lore, though overall I think it was a misguided attempt at meta-commentary. I guess you could argue we don't know the full extent of the Velvet Attendants' powers and it could be possible for them to travel across timelines or whatever, but I think it'd be weird to keep all the S. Links exactly the same only to fuck with the main story as much as this hypothetical implies. Plus based on all we've seen and heard they're trying to be as faithful as possible while fleshing out some aspects that need it (Strega, etc.). An extended epilogue of some kind that fills a similar role to The Answer doesn't seem out of the question, but the original ending needs to stay. I can't believe there are people who think otherwise and want Makoto to survive, because that defeats the entire purpose of the game's message. I like your idea of having Elizabeth come to terms with death though, that's an angle I think could be really impactful if executed well.
I would literally pay $100 to get the female MC, lol. I looooove that route.
Would be great if they added it down the road
