    Hi Amanda thought give up date how got on with reptile bark still got 7. All good roots looking good and 3 are just open second bloom and the others showing new roots and new leaf growth. Finding drainage very good and alot easyer knowing when there ready for drink there also liking the new 1 liter clear plastic pots with a lot holes. I find give them 25 minute in water with feed then drains out quick and rest for another 25 minutes then back in position. Found second bloom flowers are a bit smaller I rest plants after second bloom over winter. I still got one in small pot from shop I think get that one mounted on a bit wood on wall I try v shape oak as it's hard wood as well. I like to see flowers hanging down for change and try something new for me.

      Hi Lee, Thank you so much for that update! That's interesting to read. I've used reptile bark before but I think I bought the wrong kind and it went a bit soggy. It was very refreshing reading about your success!

    Luckily my environment / location does not cater to these "festive" creatures!! However, I am always on the lookout for mealy bugs. I just cut away the infested branches, but these plants are far away from my orchids - but I still double check them, just in case. GL to everyone.

      Hi Lyn! Thank you for watching, even if these bugs aren't around your area! I appreciate it. You so are blessed to live in a place that doesn't have these little crawlers. :)

    Hello, I am keeping my orchids outside at this time and they are doing awesome. I will though have to bring them in during the short winter we have in Navarre Florida. Soil gnats are my worry when I bring them in. On other plants I do use sticky paper and that seems to keep them controlled. My thought is to do a neem oil drench on them before I bring them in for the winter. What do you think? Is it safe for them? By the way, really enjoy your videos.

      Hi Frank, Sorry for taking so long to answer you. I was sick and couldn't get back to RUclips. Need Oil works well with orchids and is great to get those nasty critters out of the leaves, stem and bark. It does smell, so I'd spray the orchids outside then later move them inside.

    I have like a grayish looking bug on my orchid medium. Every time I water, they come to the top, and then they climb back down. They are never on the leafs, any idea what they are?

      Hi Annie, I am not sure from the description. It seems like they hate water whatever they are, so a good 20 min soak maybe the best way to get rid of them. Soak the orchid until only the stem is visible. Don't leave any bark above water. You could add a pesticide to the water also. Since I don't know what they are, it's hard to offer any real help.

    where can we buy the bigger clear plastic ones?

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 года назад

      Hi MML, I've bought some on amazon before. Here is the link that I used amzn.to/3j7xStu It does come out to about US $2.00 a pot. They are huge... So If you have smaller orchids, they will not work. I only have 1 orchid I used with this pot. There is another store that provides them too, and I like this one because you get a variety of sizes amzn.to/3zT0Dkq . It is slightly more expensive, (US $ 6.00) but you get more pots. Yet with these, you have to make your own holes in the side.
