I love the natural beauty side of HK, Lantau and Sai Kung in particular, hiking there, especially during the cooler season, is always lots of fun. Even the Hong Kong island itself has a lot to offer in that regard.
Your views on HK are so so true . That's why many hongkongers go to Shenzhen to spend their holidays, and I , as a retiree, move to live in Shenzhen, to enjoy the convenience there, the safety there , the fresh air there with so many electric vehicles on the road and to witness the rejuvenation of my country there.
They go because it is cheaper. Full stop. I am one of those people on occasion. But i prefer Zhuhai over Shenzhen. With that said it is one thing to visit and another to live. To live in SZ which I have to say HK is a more honest city and the people make the city.
@@dane11 they go to Shenzhen because consumer goods there is valued for money. Do you understand the difference between cheap and valued for money??係物超所值,唔係cheap 呀,死蠢!

@@tvguy4600 I am referring to quality of service. The honesty part is not relative to payments either as I go to zhuhai. Its the quality of the workers and people. I do not see the rudeness in HK but I know it is there. My view on the honesty part is the hypocrisy, shortcuts of business in SZ. To which last saturday I was in Zhuhai. Families from fhe north were down and kids were collecting water and running around the breakfast lounge shooting each other with the water guns. I was the only one to say something or see something wrong in it. Its stuff like that. And it was a resort. Lack of consideration.
Hong Kong is beautiful. I love that place. I still have friends and relatives and they still choose HK to live. You should do a video of Cheung Chau island. I love that place!
Hey friend, you were in Hong Kong. I just live down the mountain of the Buddha, used to walk up to the Buddha with my family in the weekend. Too bad we can't catch a beer or two. Next time. 😊😊
Yes, HK is quite expensive, I were there back in March around Easter and lots HK people went to mainland China during the Easter for cheaper holiday. 😅
I visited years ago before the new airport and train out to Lantau Island. Back then it was a ferry ride and hike up the hill to see the Big Buddha followed by a vegetarian lunch at the temple. #simplertimes
Start dreaming of beer in the morning and throughout the day! As long as beer can be found around scenic sites, there is hope for viewers wanting to see China.
There are so many Buddha temples in mainland China. Why in the heck would your daughter want to go to the most expensive one in HK!!?? Your daughter is weird Kirk! You’re right the locals in HK are not friendly. It doesn’t matter if the usual excuse is that they are busy trying to make a living so they’re stressed out. Being Nasty 🤢 is being nasty and even a big city in New York the people are a lot friendlier. Anyways it Looks like you had fun spending your last moments with your daughter before she heads back to Canada.
I had never heard of this Buddha before. I fly into Hong Kong, but now I cross into the mainland right away. No time for Hong Kong anymore. Funny story, I have a bald head and somewhat of a beer belly. My Chinese friends would make fun of me calling me Buddha. The last time in China I arrived with a white beard. My friends started calling me Santa Claus. I can't win. :(
Although it looks awesome from the air, I don't like Hong Kong. It's hectic, unfriendly, and expensive. I avoid going there these days, I am spoiled by Nanning!
I worked and lived in Hong Kong, I totally understand your feelings, especially the unfriendly part. They treat foreigners much better than people from mainland China.
@@cathywoodward6171 That's how effective US/UK sponsored propaganda is, and how they thought they could use the territory as a Trojan Horse against the mainland.

That's the way it is. Most HKers are working their ass off to pay for the super high rent in HK, so quite stressful if you have a big family to feed too.

Big buddha is too commercial now. I used to go there a hard way. Ferry from hk to mei wo then take the big bus to the middle of the way then changed to mini bus to the mountain. I stopped going hk. Its super expensive except the food is better than China for sure.
You are good Dad to walk up those stairs for your daughter. Good Dad!
Nice family bond . Happy to see guys are enjoying time together.

So beautiful 🥰🥰🥰
This was a pretty good part of the trip! Almost as good as us spending a day hiking up a mountain.
You should go to Leshan to see the biggest Buddha! Very cool!
I think I've been there 7x😂
Lots of HK folks especially retirees love to live in the Greater Bay area in Guangdong. Modern, convenient, clean and right next door to HK and Macau.
Not if you are Yellow C, who are anti China and love UK. They are called BNOER.
Greater Bay Area?

Aside from the ShaTin and Happy Valley racecourses, the outer islands are the best part of Hong Kong.- Cheung Chau especially.

What is Buddha doing in Hong Kong? Buddhism originated in India 2,500+ years ago.
Yep, last year in Guangdong we visited a Chinese temple, Buddha was everywhere.
You are wrong, Buddhism originated in Nepal by a Nepalese prince…India is dominated by Hinduism rather than Buddhism.😂
What is Christianity doing in the EU and US?, it's a Middle Eastern religion from 2024 yrs ago.
