  • Mudvayne was one of the most popular metal bands of the early 2000s. The band's end came just as fast as their rise to fame.

@Commentor1 Well, some of us have earned our problems, First World or not ;)
My band was Breaking Benjamin. I was there for their first show right up until they split with Aaron, James, and Chad (not their original drummer, either). But the biggest disappointment had to be my personal interactions with Ben himself. This was before he sobered up, though. Regardless, I just can't stomach their new shit with the new members. Ben broke his own band, IMO.

@@jamesmiller5331 You have good taste in music. I have avoided the last 2 BB albums. Not for me. My personal favorite would be their 5 song local release EP, which pretty much became Saturate. I also have their original 3 song promo cassette. There are copies on youtube but the quality is very poor compared to the original. They're basically just "Benjamin" now. A shell of their former greatness. (I am heavily biased. I admit that. Being from NEPA does that to people)

Caleb Rivas, that is a great album, I’ve wanted into the album myself. My first metal album I bought was Lost and Found, which was the album and band that got me into Mudvayne. They are a unique band and really hope they come back at least for tours, I don’t really care if they write new music, but seeing them back together, would be amazing. I’ve wanted to get into Hellyeah but will always love Mudvayne for their great music and their amazing work. It’s sad to hear the band slowly falling apart from personal reasons, imagine the music they could make if they returned, although they have made great albums through their time. Slipknot and Mudvayne are fairly different bands, although their both metal and have been around since the early 90’s. Both bands do heavy metal and some softer rock songs but I think that both these bands and many other bands began with an idea for their image and music which made them unique, and appreciate for what they do and who they are. I’ve been 2 a few concerts but never have been to a metal or a rock concert, and Mudvayne would be one I’d absolutely love 2 see. Great band, all the best to them all and hope a comeback is in future
Lost and Found got me through a lot things, particularly while I was in High school since last year, along with many other metal and rock bands. But the main song that helped me personally and musically was World So Cold. That song truely hit my heart and still give me chills whenever I listen to it. I hope to get into LD. 50 but Lost and Found will always be my first album I bought myself. Love the music, spread the love, make the life better

Besides, back in them days, a rap concert pales in comparison to 3 or more musicians actually making the music right there in front of you. 20 dudes with a mic and a looped instrumental wasn't worth watching live to me. RYAN MARTINIE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST BASSIST OF ALL-TIME. HE WAS THE SECRET WEAPON in MuDvAyNe and apparently still is a secret because he's stayed mostly underground since the breakup. It's Ironic that Ryan was the best talent in MuDvAyNe but has done the least since they split-up. Most likely he has chosen this path but it just feels like this guy could be a huge star if he wanted to be. MuDvAyNe's L.D. 50 is still a masterpiece and I feel like I discover something new within the music every time I listen to it. Every song is perfect and it has to be considered one of the greatest Nu-Metal/Metalcore albums of all-time. The video forgot to mention that besides changing their look with every new album, MuDvAyNe also got a little softer too. They never went back to the L.D. 50 sound and probably set the bar a little to high with that first release. The New Game was probably their 2nd best album but you can definitely hear a lot of Hell Yeah in it, and Hell Yeah is not a band I enjoy. It would be amazing if MuDvAyNe made another album but I already know it will be disappointing. Slipknot has never been afraid of taking risks but MuDvAyNe on the other hand seems to be afraid of L.D. 50 and ran as far away from that sound and everything it stands for, and makes absolutely zero sense.

After playing their set they washed off all their makeup, went out into the hall of this huge venue in Memphis called the Pyramid, and set up folding tables right out in the open to meet people and sign autographs. They didn't announce this or make a big deal of it. I was just walking back from the bathroom and boom there they were. They were incredibly humble (especially Ryan Martinie - he was super down to earth). I still have my signed tickets from that show. That was a really unique experience getting to see that line up. What I loved most about mudvayne is they can be heavy as hell and then go into parts where their music puts you into a deep state of sub consciousness. Deep words and musical sections where they put you in this world of emotion of feeling lost, scared, feeling like lost hope. Let me reword that. You are already there, the music finds you there and pulls you out of it. Like they know where you are emotionally and pull you out of the darkness. Their music didn't make me more depressed or angry, instead it liberated me from my everyday struggles and made me a stronger person since day one of seeing dig on a tv at my college campus during lunch. I saw the makeup but had a feeling these guys were more than just clown makeup and they definitely were. Songs like world so cold and death blooms. If you feel nothing from those songs, you are nothing.

there was a lot of stuff left out on this, felt like it was mostly just a "what happened to greg and chad" documentary, what about Ryan's band Soften the Glare which has been gaining popularity? or how he got really into producing tracks for bands? or Matt and Greg joining back together in audiotopsy? or Matt being the drummer in On The Shoulders of Giants, who's EP was produced by Ryan.

Ryan is the reason I started playing, I recently got to go see him and his newer trio band, I got in early sat RIGHT IN FRONT of him, loved the show, afterwards talked to the whole band, Ryan signed my bass and even played with mine some, got to play his and yes I got to play his custom shop and yes the one from the DIG VIDEO, and YES I “Br Br Dengd” in his “Br Br Deng” bass and loved every second

In all honesty, now would be a good time for Mudvayne to make a comeback, being that Hellyeah is unfortunately no longer.
    R.I.P. Vinnie!
(Side note) Same can be said for Nothingface as well for the same circumstance.
I would love to see Mudvayne take another stab at pleasing the masses that they once did.

Every album was amazing, but LD50 changed the world, just like Slipknot, for a generation of kids growing up in a changing world no one could explain to us, but we could tap into something we could understand perfectly with these great metal bands.

Ryan is one of the best bassist players. Period.
And when I was a little kid his appearance made me want to go as him when I was in kindergarten on a halloween.
Mom really wasn't happy that my older brother was playing these songs to me... ahhh good times.

Charlie without scene lol, yep. We're probably never getting new music from either of those bands. Serj went solo and Chad went to play with Vinnie. There's probably some some issues due to fame that will never be resolved in those camps. Which sucks because they kinda left us fans hanging.

    Why did Mudvayne split up?
Now vocalist Chad Gray, who currently fronts Hellyeah, has stated in an interview with Billboard that the band broke up due to its failing relationships between its members. “Mudvayne [at that time] was basically breaking. ... Mudvayne was just dissolving. It became too much for all of us.3 Jun 2016
