I know the weight of neglect! How tragic when He is so worthy. When He is the most important person in my life, when He loves me so deeply beyond anything I can imagine. I also know the beauty, the peace, the satisfaction of being in His presence which is priceless. Why would I run after the chaff, when the treasure of His presence is available to me? Oh, that I would give my all, all, everything to His presence.

This is such an encouragement to me. I've been recently encouraged by Brother Lawrence, "I spent my time convincing myself of the reality of this Divine Being by the light of faith rather than by the work of meditation and study." I can get clogged in my walk with Jesus if I'm depending on how much time I'm spending with Him or how much I'm meditating on Him. I must remember it's the work of faith, the internal resting and relaxing solely on Him. Your message here so encourages me to rest IN Him. Thank you for all you're doing, especially in these times. Every day I glean from your videos. You're work is not in vain. There are multitudes listening to you and drawing more and more in to Jesus.

Thankyou for everything you do for the Body of Christ, you were a huge part in my turning back to Jesus especially and having my very own personal experience with Him..., Oh how everything just fell right into place when I realized after all this time I'd been asking for an earthly (let's say) husband, and God had been telling me for a while 'I have saved the best till last!'..., dear God I know exactly what He meant now or shall I say Who....., there is no other than Jesus Christ! I have never ever felt so filled with Love, with Joy and His perfect peace (until yesterday when I felt myself come crashing down and the old self trying to creep back in with negative thoughts etc...., and my condemning myself for not doing what He has been asking me to do since my being saved!) The first thing He told me when I asked after my Baptism of The Holy Spirit..., what now Lord ? His answer: You've gotta show me Love! Today is a new day and I am rejoicing and being glad in it with Him right by my side!

I grew up in the church much like you. Holy spirit brought me out of religion 1 year ago. I was taught alot of things but one thing that hindered my true life the most was the idea know that your saved let's move on from the gospel... but now I live in the gospel everyday and dwell with him in true peace and his nature inpowers me to action.
Amen! Yes it is all about the Internals :) That precious time or moments spent with the lord. We do not receive rest or sustenance from earthly things or desires because its death. I have been praying for patience and perseverance lately, as those who surround me are constant in earthly things and desires. I do not do very well when it comes to small talk. More and more I really want to talk about Jesus.
My cousin sent me this video of yours. I like 1. Seeking the missing watch by listening to the ticking. 2. A moment of Communion with the Lord is better than the riches of a thousand Worlds. The brain categorizing sounds into two areas; threats and peacefulness. I must interject the fact that although the sounds of water flowing bring peace and relaxation. However, sounds of water flowing would not be good on a ship hahaha.
At 15:39min, that's exactly how I have been feeling ever since (having been "saved" for over 25 years) - I feel no presence of the Lord, just like this lady. So far no-one ever understood what I am struggling with. Am glad to hear that she came to the point that she actually DID have consciousness of the Lord, but wasn't aware of it, told what to look out for. That gives me a bit of hope. I wished Eric would have elaborated on this more. However it might give me a kickstart to seek further. Maybe one of you reading this by chance went through the same thing and can help me (with a link to something about this)?
I still find it difficult to be still. My mind wanders and I become scatter-brained, or I end up asleep. I try to not struggle but snuggle, and it's still difficult.
I've found it helpful to obtain peace and stillness by simply saying (some days repeatedly), "thank You God for the stillness, thank You for the peace of Jesus, thank You for calming my mind, my thoughts, my soul...thank you, thank you, thank you, etc....gratitude for what He already paid for you to have can unlock the gates that have held it back. I pray your eager, grateful heart will become filled to overflow with His true, immovable peace.

Wife and i were talking about crowns last night. The crown that Jesus wears is always pictured as a european style crown. But in actuality, people in that region wore these HUGE 50lb PLUS crowns! 1 Chronicles 20:2 says: David took the crown from the head of their king --its weight was found to be a talent of gold, and it was set with precious stones--and it was placed on David's head. He took a great quantity of plunder from the city. JUST IMAGINE all the kings casting those crowns at the Feet of Jesus, and also imagine the CROWN HE HAS! We cant bear the weight of that crown! So casting my crown at the Feet of Jesus takes on even more meaning!

Laying down includes pouring out your heart to Jesus in words but it means much more than that. When He says "lay down" he means to cast all your desires to the Lord. It means that all of your plans, you give it over to the Lord and if it's not His will for you then you let go of your plans. That is surrender. It also means, forgetting all of your problems and the things of the world and keep your mind on the PERSON of Christ alone. There is much more I want to say about this but take it to the HOLY Spirit in prayer and ask Him to show you what it means to lay everything at the feet of Jesus

Wife and i were talking about crowns last night. The crown that Jesus wears is always pictured as a european style crown. But in actuality, people in that region wore these HUGE 50lb PLUS crowns!
1 Chronicles 20:2 says:
David took the crown from the head of their king --its weight was found to be a talent of gold, and it was set with precious stones--and it was placed on David's head. He took a great quantity of plunder from the city.
JUST IMAGINE all the kings casting those crowns at the Feet of Jesus, and also imagine the CROWN HE HAS! We cant bear the weight of that crown!
So casting my crown at the Feet of Jesus takes on even more meaning!

Laying down includes pouring out your heart to Jesus in words but it means much more than that.
When He says "lay down" he means to cast all your desires to the Lord. It means that all of your plans, you give it over to the Lord and if it's not His will for you then you let go of your plans. That is surrender.
It also means, forgetting all of your problems and the things of the world and keep your mind on the PERSON of Christ alone.
There is much more I want to say about this but take it to the HOLY Spirit in prayer and ask Him to show you what it means to lay everything at the feet of Jesus
