Remembering my mum who passed away a month and some days now... she acted in a drama 'Eni itan' on BCOS TV in the late '80s ...this song was the drama theme song. Woke up 3am, remembering her, and this song popped into my mind and searched for it. It was played on a radio station in Ibadan early last year while driving, I parked & recorded it and sent it to her... brought a lot of memories.
May your Mum's soul rest in Peace. They just played this song on the radio now and I came to search for it. I remember the BCOS Drama- Enitan. My Mum retired from BCOS too. She departed this world 7 years ago. May their Souls Rest in Peace. And may God Comfort their loved ones
A classic at every level. Most of us know more about KSA, Ebenezer Obey, etc. But I never knew of this gentleman till now. A great song any day. Thanks for posting.
Dedicated to the memory of my dear father and friend Dr J.O Fadeiye. Miss you a lot dad, this use to be one of your favourite songs back then. Your memories are blessed. Rest easy my first love.
I've been looking for this record since 1982 I was then a bachelor hoping to have it play whenever I started raising children.i thank God I got it now though I'm no more raising children.it's a good work.
Late 80s precisely. Baba Wande, Mama Wande, Professor, Jembe, etc, were some of the characters. This man that used to anchor the Yoruba games programme, "Danrawo", played the major role. Aunty Tolu Adeyemi, Baba Ijesha and others were part of the cast. I remember the BCOS staff quarters was the location. Nostalgic!
Nostalgia indeed but evergreen. I have never heard the original song until now. I never heard of Akeeb Kreem until weeks ago on his trending live concert at UI. I decided to dig deep only for me to unveil all the music I have heard from complementary musician. Baba (Evang) Akeeb Kareem, God bless you for us - The New Generation
My Mum is used to singing this for me on my birthdays. I so much love this song even till now. God bless you Sir. Yoruba race is indeed very grateful for this masterpiece.
Evergreen! The nostalgia this song brings is out of this world. My childhood was made by great songs like this. Thank you sir for blessing my growing up with this great tune.
Please kindly appeal to daddy Akeeb Kareem to release most of his hit song for pubic enjoyment, most of us born early 1960s value the lyrics and the composition of all his music, which can be regarded as soul appealing music, May thy Lord in his infinite mercy bless you sir.Amen!!!
I appreciate this song so much. I had to teach my 4years old daughter to sing it for her twins sisters who are just 8 months old... I had love this song as a child... Now I'm grown still in tone.
thank God I finally got it. what an inspired song I sing it anytime I am thanking God for the children He blessed my family with and when I sees them growing up day by day. God bless the singer "baba blackman" and the Upload.
What a life! I met this great man a young boy at paradise hotel ,obalufon str at Ife in early 70.,His girlfriend, sister Toun had taken me there to meet him.Nigeria could really be great.
Uncle Agbaletu, please, do somthing to our reapecful daddy's songs. He needs to enjoy the fruits of his labour via reloading it into any means to get money. Also, they are songs that are educative, informative, correct the ills of society. He needs to aired on radio and films. I could see a lot of musians taken parts of his songs to builds empires.
OMG!! I sing this song all the time but never knew it was from Daddy Akeeb Kareem. Thank you so much sir. Omowa oniku mowa loju. More Grace to your elbow. Ojo adale
Kaiiiii.... This song got tears from my eyes.... So nostalgic... The instruments and syncopation were so on point.... Melodious from the very start till the end...... Every morning I listened to this heart warming song, I would feel like going back to bed 😃😃😃... One of my best songs till tomorrow
The song reminds me of the good old days when everything was in shape, people were innocent in the community, the love was there amongs everyone. Unlike now that the level of insecurity is alarming. Thank you Sir for making this song.
how do these creative folks benefit from the royalties of their works... how are they celebrated.. these mans songs forms my childhood not craps that these generations are churning out these days
Blackman Akeeb Kareem ,a great pioneer who charted a new course in music by creating a genre all his own. His larger than life voice belted many folksy songs that ruled the airwaves in the 70s and early 80s. With others like Fela, Lijadu Sisters, Uncle Tunj Solana etc provided the cross over appeal that made Lagos the center of African music of the period
My favorite music for my God given princess Oluwatoyosi!!! Love this song a lot. And makes me remember the first time I became a dad. Carrying my little princess ..
Same here...my dad played dis song fr us every morning back then...so so emotionally I wish my Dad still alive he wont blive I cant still pull d song on RUclips....Technology hey!😋
