@4:22 For those wondering I think the key point - which needed to be stated and wasn't - is that cure and death are not independent of one another. Specifically, an increase in cure will lead to a decrease in death as, by definition, cure eliminates death.
The author's premise, however, was that if either cure or death increase (independent of each other) then prevalence decreases (more leave the pool either way) and if cure of death decrease (again independent of each other) then prevalence will increase. By this logic, one cannot assume that an decrease in death and an increase in cure will lead to a decrease in prevalence: if cure and death are independent of one another (as implied) and if death decreases (X more stay in pool) by the same rate cure increases (X amount also leave), prevalence will stay the same.
The prosecution rests.
