Having driven a mostly stock R32 GTR, The VB WRX is very similar except of course the much lower rev limit. Its plenty of performance in a very comfortable yet affordable package. The stereo is fine though it would benefit from some higher efficiency speakers in the doors. I hear the wired carplay can be wireless with a $50 dongle. Might be the best thing I've ever driven over speedbumps. 1st gear is comically short but whatever.
I just bought a TR, first manual since 2014 that I've driven...1st gear kicked my ass with the salesman in the car lmao. I've never driven a manual sports anything so I forgave myself for stalling out a few times, the car launches. Reverse has been a bit of a challenge, doing it smoothly...forgetting to unlock it etc. Great car, and I got it for a great price since tS is coming out. TRs aren't selling that well.
Sweet vid, I have a 22 limited coming up on 20k miles. Added the sti exhaust and found some sti bbs wheels off an 09 sti. Is this in Northern California?
Great video, man! I’m going to pick up my 23 Wrx base model from the dealership in 3 days. I’ve been working for a long time to be financially able to get one, so I’m pretty excited. You addressed a few questions I had about the car, so I appreciate that! Good stuff!
This is my first WRX coming from a 95 Ford Probe GT. Aftermarket options are huge. I said I would leave it stock then installed axle back and sti wing lol. LOVE this car. Room for my Shepherd too.
You had the Ford Probe GT ! that is a very interesting sporty car from the 90s wave; i hope you still have it, rare cars like that are such a blast to show off. But yeah You and me both, this car has grown on me more since owning it as well. it is hard not to love. The VB WRX is perfect for car enthusiats; reliable, aggressive silhouette, moddable, Roomie, practical, fast and the avalible 6 speed manual…. plus room for the pups
No way. nah i did not have one lol . But my mate had one in maroon redish. He got a custom front bar with integra 4 circle lights installed and body kit with a sports exhaust, lowered springs, tuned and we were racing every nob head on the road. Nobody knew what the car was especially with the flip lights up as well. I had good memories in that car. We use to get pulled over by the cops everyday. The sticker he had on the windscreen ON-PROB-ATION. The fastest ive ever been in a car at 133miles/215kms.
Just walked by one today in black with STI bodykit with red trimmings. Looked pretty good. As a 19WRX owner waiting for Subaru to drop a limited edition version with bodykits, power bump and Brembos and im onto it.
Yeah they have a lot of trims that have body kits and brake upgrades in japan. america will get the TR soon, but no power bump, but we will see what happens with time. subaru is up to something.
l did pick up a 2023 WRX 6 speed Rally Blue, perfect color for me. l did upgrade STI exhaust and sounds much louder very nice. l am having fun, cladding and styling no problem, 4 door and room yeah, l do not regret buying 34.000 premium. everyday ride and grip AWD, car is sure footed.. love the short gearing smooth shifting, power is good, Stiff Chassis , this car communicates thru its chassis
Good points!… that is a really good way of putting it, I couldn’t agree more with how you say it communicates through its chassis. It feels as if it is on rails at times. The rally blue honestly looks good with the stock cladding; the STI exhaust is really nice as well, it has grown on me as of lately.
That extendable center console isn't standard. I just got a base '23 WRX with the standard arm rest and holy hell was it bad. I immediately bought that extendable arm rest and it makes the ride so much more enjoyable. It's an absolutely necessary upgrade imo.
I have a 2022 WRX limted manual sapphhire blue color Before that I had two cars accord 1.5 19 and civic type r 03 and i sold them A new experience from Subaru awd car and it is truly a wonderful car to drive but the transmission is rough in the gears, especially third gear
that type r generation is such a cool car, i wish america got those. i agree with you, the transmission is clunky. it has taken me some time to adapt to, ive come to understand it a lot more as of lately. nothing like those honda transmission eh?, lol honda transmissions are goated.
@@roadwayguru It is true brother, the trans in the Type R was like butter. The good news is that the engine fa24 is reliable and the clutch in this car is good by the factory if the car is stock, but if you want some power, about 400 horsepower or more, you need to change the trans to the STI Much better and stronger but it costs a lot 😶
you know i hated the vb until around 8 k miles when i did a cobb stage 2. its a different beast now. i think i wanna work on fine tuning torque curve rn. goal is 450 - 500 horse and torque
Bang for the buck you just can' t beat it. Plus the aftermarket and mod potential is great.
exactly!

thanks bro! It is Nor Cal, Delta area. Bet those STI rims look nice on your VB
I have a 24 base the center console is absolutely diff and no extension ?

i appreciate that a lot brother! im glad i touched those point you were curious about. i will have more videos on it coming as well so stay tuned
Sick video. Keep em coming
Nice review! Got my 2023 base model 3weeks ago. What kind of tires are you running on your car now?
thanks brother! what color did you get? also im running FALKEN ZIEX ZE960 tires, i really like them so far, only paid $480 for the set.
@@roadwayguru I got it in the World Rally Blue. $480 for a set of all seasons? Wow! How do you like them?
Get the Continental all season

@@axeya366 👏🏼👏🏼😂 that is hilarious. ahh.. so many memories cars bring us.
Great review. Also, I love the way a wrx looks when its dirty. It shows that you actuallly use it.
Agreed!

Regarding your mention of the Civic Si, with dealer markups, the WRX is actually cheaper.
right, that is exactly why i ended up going with the WRX.
keep up the good work
Wobble? A $40 fix. Done.
you should get a short shifter
I heard they help a lot, i need to look into it.

yes agreed! yeah mine came with 4 add ons, the extendable arm rest, weather floor mats, sti shift knob, and a windshield sunshade.
FIRE🔥🔥🔥🔥

STI swap around 400 torque since that appears to be the reliability limit.
