Nicely done presentation Linzi. I had a wow moment in your video when you recommended to turn off the pull up bobbin function with masking. THANK YOU for that pearl of wisdom. I notice that you are on version 2.04 of Qmatic. I recently posted two videos. You can find them under my name Shannon Strain. The first was how to update your head and computer to the newest firmware and Qmatic software V 3.00.22. The second video was going over the new features found in Qmatic. One final thought - in the masking exercises where you sew the outline, if you take the design into ANS you can turn it into artwork and then back into stitches. Send it back into Qmatic and you should have a design without all of the stops (jumps). That is if the goddess is good to us. Again, lovely lesson Linzi!
Thanks for your tip:) Obviously, having now done the updates, I may have to review some of my tutorials! I do lessons with pupils on Zoom in the UK then go and make a video summary for them afterwards, sometimes with notes but that takes ages…
@@linziupton I'm glad that folks in the UK have you as a resource. As a heads up, I'm working on an appliquéd quilt with a centered motif. Using the mask tool to create the outline of the area not to be stitched on and bringing the shape into Art N Stitch and then back into Qmatic works like a charm in simplifying the jumps that masking creates.
Thank you for these wonderful videos. I'm learning so much. The only thing I'm a bit confused about is the stitching around the star. I would think you want to leave that in, right? I will rewatch
Thank you, Jen. Some of the videos were made before the update. Maybe I thought the star stitching might not be quite accurate enough if going around an applique otherwise if in a non patchwork space you probably would want the outline. I will slowly make more videos in am attempt to explain things clearly/visually:)
Thanks so much. Great video with several options.
