    Hey Remy,
Love your videos on the genus! However I'm disappointed that there was no comment about responsibility with wild populations of these highly endangered plants and that you used wild collected seeds In a video directed towards beginners. I'm sure you meant no harm, but please be mindful about this topic.
    Best Regards.

      You are right.
Make sure you ask all sellers pictures of the plants. If the plant looks like growing in a mountain versus a pot, it's wild collected...

    Hey Rémi.
I also germinated edwardsiana this spring : 19 plantlets in total, not bad 😅
Can't wait to be raise the plants big enough for species confirmation...
I'm spraying them with orchid focus once a week, look good.
    Thanks.

I dunno if nepenthes seeds are too sensitive for this, but I've found that a strong misting can disrupt fungal hyphae on my sarracenia seeds as they start germinating. I just mist when I notice mold starting on the peat, and the mold disappears for about a week

I love these seeds videos, it is always so exciting to see how many seedlings are hatching 😂. I tried to germinate nepenthes from seeds 3 times, first were two varieties of N. Ampullaria (i think they were green and tricolor if i remember well) and the other was a N. Minima x Maxima. The last one were pretty fresh seeds, they came even in the seed pod, but none of them germinated :(. It was pretty sad but well, i guess i will have to still trying haha.

If the seed didn't germinated yet, I spray with hydrogen peroxide. If it's a seedling, I tend to repot in fresh substrate.

I got two new plants from a nursery amd he threw in some freebie seeds, I wasn't expecting this at all so I was kinda unprepared and just tossed together whatever I could lmao
I wont be giving it a dome unfortunately, just a plastic pot with chopped spaghnum.
    It's (lowii x veitchii) x platychilla seedlings.
I wanted to ask, do you think hybrid seeds will perform better/germinate faster/have higher germination rate than pure nep seeds because of hybrid vigor?
    Just curious LMAO
    Thank you!

    • @WindowsillNepenthes

Good question... once they germinate yes hybrids are faster than pure species, but for the percentage of germination I don't know!

The one question I have that I did not see was how much LUX do the seeds need to be under and how many hours per day? Oh and also do you use a heat mat under the humidity dome to keep temperature warmer? Thank you for all of your help and look forward to the live this weekend!

    • @WindowsillNepenthes

I don't use heatmat under the seeds, and for the LUX, I'll have to measure that when lights are on. ;) but same LUX as sphagnum moss.

Yeah that's what growing seeds is like. I have my own crosses and even then it's not always successful. You could have the pair and pull the seed pod as soon as it opens and some will be great and others do nothing. I have right now ventricosa k x vent red. My own cross. This did great. Tons of babies. Vent k x vent Denver (also excellent), Vent k x (lowii x campanulata) great again. Vent k x clipeata (only 3). Oh man. I wanted that one the most. BUT I sent some pods to a friend who does tissue culture and he got the opposite results. The first three did nothing but his vent k x clip did great so we'll be trading again once our plants are big enough. Crazy stuff. Man I wish I had sauroguinensis. Does this person sell to the US?
