Totally understand about the self confidence thing with acne. I had acne for years and went on roaccutane. When it was really bad my mum always said other people don't notice your spots as much as you do, which I think is true but it's still demoralising to live with them... Don't worry Katie, hang in there. It'll pass and you're beautiful xx
The only positive I've had from having acne troubles is discovering YOU! I don't know that I'd have found your channel if I hadn't been searching acne related content and now I look so forward to all of your vlogs. I know the feeling of not being able to really relax and have fun because of spots and it is the worst, but the whole video I just kept thinking how your skin looks so amazing now especially compared to how it used to be. Keep your chin up, love. Sending hugs xx
So weird that I am watching this today because I have been feeling really down all day about my skin and can 100% understand the feeling of not being able to 'let your hair down' because of it
Katie I really hope this isn’t tmi... but have you considered your chin may be due to stubble rash and lots of excess saliva in the chin area etc? My partner always has to be clean shaven and can’t use any products on his skin that mine are sensitive too as it aggravates my acne. Hope this helps xx
Two weeks ago I've started my accurate journey and I've been watching your videos to prepare myself, to understand what I'll need skincare wise and... To find comfort, I guess... I totally understand how acne makes you feel down about yourself, I've been dealing with it for almost ten years now, but really, you're helping so many people like me, and *that* should be the basis of your confidence... The good you're doing for others ❤️ so yeah, if you get new spots just smile at them, and think that your journey is helping so many others I wish I could send you all the love in this world ❤️ Hope you'll feel better, and that your skin will heal, as well
I'm so sorry you're dealing with some break outs right now 😭 I don't suffer from bad acne but my best friend does. She recently started Accutane and I sent her the link to your playlist. And she said it's really helped her not feel so alone and also she's gotten really good tips on dealing with some of the side effects. Watching her gain confidence as her skin clears up literally makes my heart so happy ❤ On another note, you and G are literally too cute for words!!! He's so sweet towards you, I think you've got yourself a good one ❤ Keep up the work on your handstand and all your amazing vlogs! I can't wait to see some of the sex toy content you have for us. 😊
I too have acne and have recently flared up on my chin and it gets me down too, but on a positive note, the rest of your skin still looks so amazing Katie, you’ve come such a long way and you’re beautiful inside and out!! And you have a family and boyfriend who’ll love you even if you have the odd spot. Plus it’ll clear up again soon :) x
Hi Katie, I am new to your channel after recently watching your video about jeans for petite ladies. I am the exact same height as you which made my day! I don’t usually comment on videos often but I wanted to share with you..I never had spots growing up, then I hit my late 20s and early 30s and my skin decided to go crazy, mostly on my chin. Big, under the skin painful things. It made me so down and knocked my confidence bad. I had never really been self confident anyway but my skin made me feel worse. However I went to the doctors about a year and a half ago now and they put me on some antibiotics for a few months and my skin cleared up. I still get the odd hormonal spots on my chin but they are no where near how they used to be. I wish I had discovered you before now, you seem so real and down to earth. Thank you xx
Oh girl I can 100% relate! I have recently gone back to the dermatologist again as after twice on roaccutane, a short spell of dermatitis has left me with cystic hormonal acne again. Determined not to go on roaccutane for a third time. It has such profound emotional effects on us doesn’t it xxx
i've been following your acne journey from the start... we were on roaccutane about the same time. your acne was worse than mine was and i was on a MUCH higher dosage than you, every time when you said what you were on i was surprised considering mine wasn't as bad as yours and yours was so low. i went off it a few months after you and my acne has never come back. i really think you should go back to the derm and go on it again with a higher dosage, some people need a second round to get rid of it completely anyway and this time maybe they'll increase the dosage. good luck!
I am... so ...so freaking happy that you are happy. I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY FOR YOU! It's as if you are the sister I never had and ... I cant explain it. I cant.
Aww I hope you start to feel better Katie :). My acne's just like your's (at age 25 no less!!) all around my chin and my lower jaw. My doctor says acne below our cheeks are all hormonal and it'll only continue down our faces as we get older.... yay. It really means a lot when you share your insecurities and keep things honest on your channel, it does indeed make me feel better. Thank you!
I’m on a new pill andI have recently gotten two of the most painful right on my jaw on either side.Am having to pick up all the creams I used use as a teenager ,hopefully it’s only temporary. We are with you Katie !ugh all that cheese And fresh vegetables yumm!have you Tried a Himalayan salt lam or a Happy Light for your S.A.D?
Nearly 36 and still have to be on the pill to control my acne and even that doesn't always work 😢 didn't gave a single spot until I was 20 and the only time my skin was great was after month 3 of being pregnant. Really doesn't effect my mood especially at this age when most people are past it x
Something that always helps my skin when I kind of feel like its going out of control is honey and asprin masks. Just simply crushed up asprin and honey mixed together, slather it on and leave it for however long pleases you. The asprin kind of manages to exfoliate the dry skin caused by the acne treatments too. Also putting on said acne treatments after face lotion sometimes helps the dryness. So sorry your skin is acting up. Xx
Thank you for posting this, it’s of great comfort to me! I’m from Wales (Swansea, not Cardiff!) but moved to London a few months ago and it’s nice to see some familiar places in comparison to living in the big city Xxx
Noriday low hormone contraceptive pill completely stopped my adult acne, I saw a dermatologist for roacutane and trialed the pill for a few months, had my review and now no need for treatment, had completely re balance my hormones, not for everybody but has totally changed my life xxx
I’ve been breaking out soooo bad in the same place! All over my chin and around my mouth area! From the comments I’ve seen a few people have broken out in the same place which is weird how so many of us can get the same breakouts in the same place at the same time😂 I’ve suffered with quite bad acne for 11 years now so you’d think I’d be used to it but I’ve barely left the house for the last 2 and a half weeks because of how self conscious I feel, it’s such a horrible feeling so I really feel for you
I don't have acne as such i have something called acne Rosacea. It honestly makes me feel awful people think they have a right to comment on skin all the time. I just want you to know even though you might not see this you're not alone and you are BEAUTIFUL. ❤❤. X
I'm almost 32 and constantly break out on my chin. I just cannot figure out the causes, the remedies or even my diet and how it could be contributing. I am now taking zinc and multi vits, so fingers crossed. Acne creams make my skin flake and no amount of makeup hides mine. :/
Oh this is heartbreaking because I can just feel your pain. I have to agree with someone else that said that often times we see our breakouts in a far worse light than others do but regardless the main thing is how we feel about ourselves. That is what matters most. Hang in there 💗
Seeing you so happy with your boyfriend makes me thrilled! He seems very sweet and is very lucky to have you to adventure with 💕 More good things to come in 2019!
I know the awful debilitating feeling. I wish I could not care about my spots but that struggle is real. Keep fighting . I am 38 and still getting them . I feel helpless .
I never had bad skin when I was a teenager, but now I’m my early twenties by acne has gone crazy. Started in my chin and stayed there for years and then got worse and worse and now it’s made it’s way up my face. It makes you just feel gross and makeup never looks right on it and it just makes you feel shitty. That plus a lot of it is cystic so it painful as well. It feel like a never ending battle cause everytime one goes after literally 2 weeks, there’s 3 more. They also just stay red and just turn in to scars so my whole face just has red spots from a year ago and from today.
I'm sorry, my English is not good. Are you eating the flour food? My friend was also suffering from acne. And it turned out that the cause of acne was food using flour such as bread. If you are eating flour food, please stop eating it. And please try to find out if you are allergic to food.
This is Sadie, on my hubby's account.. wanted to say that it is awesome that you are getting so much exercise! Especially in winter, it will help with the seasonal depression.
I feel u I’m 24 I did a round of accurate and my acne is really bad right now in different areas.. my dermatologist tried spironolactone and aldactane and if that doesn’t work a second round of accurate but I feel so ugly all the time it sucks
Love your vlogs and get so sad hearing how spots affect your mood. For me it was never spots but how my body looked, feeling to big, etc. But have you though about theraoy for low self esteem (and also anxiety maybe)? It really helped me get out of my head, not let how I look - or how I feel I look - totally upset me and destroy positive moments. You shoudn't have to feel like that.
You still look beautiful. I’m 27 and still getting breakouts I was diagnosed with PCOS which is very hard to diagnose and not everyone have all the symptoms. Have you ever got hormone bloods done? It could be a hormonal balance in which requires a different treatment entirely. Chin up xx
This video couldn’t come at a better time for me. I’ve literally been feeling the exact same way about my skin! So down and ugly because of a really bad breakout 😔 nice to know I’m not the only one!
I know this is the most obvious thing but whatever you do try not to touch your acne. I’ve had so many bad breakouts over the years, and I’ve finally realised how much damage I was doing myself. Any bacteria from the acne or even aggravation from squeezing/picking will create more, and then it’s a vicious cycle. So as soon as you’ve got a spot moisturise it and wait for it to pass :-)
Going through the exact thing - my skin has been clear for months!!! And two weeks ago I started breaking out in the same places as you... One after another - some of the really painful.. I’m positive it’s because of stress.. but still, feeling very shitty and down... I was wearing barely any makeup and now I have to cover up this shit-storm :(( makeup is looking cakey and just meeeh Hopefully it will go away soon Much love to you!! Thank for talking about it ❤️
It's unfortunate that a lower dose of Accutane for a longer period of time is more prone to relapse. Lowers the side affects but most people end up getting it back. That's why they recommend the higher dose for 15-20 weeks at max. I'm about to go on it and I'm not allowing them to put me on the low and slow method for this reason! I know exactly how you feel, keep your chin up beautiful x
Also, Ive followed you since pre acne treatment, and I found your acne blogs really interesting. I didn’t see myself as having acne, just bad adult skin, but looking back it was definitely acne. I still have it and have been having treatment for about a year now. For the first 6 months it was great but it’s really taken a step backwards so I’ve had to restart oral antibiotics rather than just use the topical stuff I’d moved on to.
Im dealing w/ adult acne as well and my skin is breaking out like crazy because of the dry winter air, so I feel you! (also Im getting MAJOR Aidan Shaw vibes from "G") , is it just me?
Would you consider doing any dating content around quirky date ideas in London? My boyfriend and I get to work in London often and want to make the most of when we’re there, but don’t always know what sort of things to do!
Sorry your acne is making you feel so poop Katie, I think it just looks hormonal. I suffer with acne too and I am also in my 30's and although its cleared up after coming off the pill, I get hormonal breakouts before and after my period too. I get it all across my chest and shoulders too which makes it so hard to cover, so I relate so much on how it can effect your self-confidence. I hope it clears up soon but you always look fab and I loved your outfit at the end with the bright lipstick and fishtail braid. Well done on the handstands, I can't wait for your new Valentine and sex toy content.
