    That’s not a double crochet! A double crochet is yarn over, pull through two, yarn over pull through two. You’re adding a yarn over pull through one!?

    I did a foundation chain of 82. When I finished the headband it was way too small. You have to take into account the beginning dc where you loose 3 stitches. Then you also have to take into account when you make the braid, the length is going to be shorter than the 72 beginning chains. I will have to do another headband and try to factor in these things! Anyone else figure this out, after the fact? Also….you should thread your needle before starting to weave so you don’t have to turn your work loose to do it….

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  2 года назад +1

      It fits me with 72 chains, but I hears others having the same problem as You. Just chain until it fits around the head. You loose 1 cm on the first row and 1 cm in the braid.

      Creo que la solución "fácil" podría ser hacer de 2 a 4 cintas para la cabeza más pequeñas y luego coserlas juntas.

    I’ve never seen a double crochet done that way before, when I do one I have the first three loops on my hook then yarn over and go thru two loops then yarn over and go thru the last two loops. You have an extra single stitch at the beginning. That’s interesting.

    Thank you for this great easy to follow tutorial. This is the first time I try chrocheting since primary school. (We did easter bunnies back then.) And I'm quite impressed at how simple it looks. However, I might be doing something wrong. My strands start twirling like DNA and the double crochet strands are no longer than 32 cm. Is it possible that my 72 chains from step one are too small?

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  2 года назад +3

      Great to hear that You refound crocheting as a hobby :-)
      We all crochet with different tension, You may need to do more than 72 chains to make it fit. If it twirls, You might need to work a bit on Your tension :-)

    These stitches are extended double crochet. Bit unsure about the yarn under then yarn over when crocheting the stitches.
    Think I'll give it a try using double crochet and yarn over only.

    The model is nice but the mesures are too short... make it maybe 5cm longer so it doesn't only fit children

      Hi Delia.
      Did You use the same hook size?
      We all have different tensions in our crocheting, so sorry to hear it did´nt work out.
