      It only appears ahead of its time to those used to the crappy RV's of the American market. This is very contemporary of the Asian RV market.

    I saw one of these last week at my local gas station. I just watched him and smiled in envy. I see a few regular Delicia's but that was first time seeing the camper. I am so jealous

    OMG! i’ve been following the full-time nomad RV channels! Something like this would be a huge huge success! why hasn’t it been marketed in the United States? gas mileage, 4 x 4, to go off road! Perfect for so many of these people who are living in vans etc.!

      the beast part about the size, besides physically feeling like a car to drive (and the diesel not being gutless), is that the will easily pass under a _fast food drive thru_ limiter ;)

    That's a camper I might get on with! I love L300s and it seems like it's got enough room for me to sleep in! Most RVs have beds that are shorter than I am and since I love to sleep stretched out that's a deal killer for me!

      @@evonnebyrd5991 Not actually, like all foreign American made diesels, elected politicians are paid by environmental lobbyists and only allow them to be sold where they can't purchase politicians, and your rights.
      Sorry to be blunt, but I've traveled the world for my job and rented small diesels made in America that I loved, that were not allowed for me to drive here.

    I think this Is the engine i had in a ford escort type car. I put the engine on a stump grinder. The throttle was a motorcycle grip. It was light on D fuel. It lasted as long as 4 new Wisconsin gas engines.

    Very nice, strange looking but nice, I like the wabasto heater, I own one in my RV, very expressive, reliable dry heat unlike propane, and Wabasto currently is a high end heating unit,some Wabasto units also double as an endless hot water unit and will preheat the engine on cold days, parts are widely available. The power trane (diesel engine), transfer box is a plus.
    I really liked the Toyota Hilux you had, diesel, straight axel, Generator and everything else, simple, effective easy to drive, I would give my left arm for a Hilux camper.
    Great video, thanks for the demonstration.🇺🇸✌️

    Actually, Mitsubishi never used diesel engines during the 80s Dakkar Rally. They used the 4G54T engine which was succeeded by 4G63T in the 90s and the 6G74T (V6) later on. But the 4D56 is a very reliable workhorse and easy to maintain engine. Parts are also cheap and easy to find since it is commonly used. 👍

    How roomy is the cockpit? How far back can the drivers seat slide? It looks pretty restricted, but overall I love this thing!

    • @Ragnar8504
      @Ragnar8504 4 года назад +1

      It does slide back a bit. These cars are most problematic to drive for people with short legs (because they need to slide the seat so far forward their knees hit the steering column when getting in or out) and people with tall upper bodies because their heads will hit the roof. If you're taller than about 6'3" or shorter than 5'4" it might not be the car for you! I'm 6'3" with fairly short legs for that height and can drive it nicely but my slightly taller brothers have trouble.

    These Japanese micro campers are considerably better designed and built (using better materials and components) than those from US based motor camper manufacturers.
    They have better ergonomics, use much less space and consume considerably less fuel than US built versions.
    Your vehicle is in immaculate condition and with only routine maintenance and the replacement of consumables (such as hoses) it should last a very long time.
