    This looked so real I thought you made normal sized from the thumbnail. This was super easy to follow and it looks incredible. Love the video!

    Making a diorama with barb wires on my set. Thanks. I think your technique is something I can employ in my own work. Cool.

    You have some fantastic idea's on how to make things and are a far better quality and more life like than any thing you can buy keep up the great work

    Ah, Sim, that jig is brilliant! I'll build me one too! That'll make it way easier. As I saw Switcher already mentioned the way I do barbed wire with four spikes, but I guess I can use the jig the same. Very nicely done! Jens

      Thank you Jens . I am so pleased that the jig is of some use to you may be I can teach the master things or to ha,ha . But on a serious note, I need some advice on figures, not the female type that would be nice, but I need to get some figures to go on my diorama? Or my plans are quite fluid at the moment. I've been looking around because I need British troops walking the only ones I can find are Tamiya . I didn't know if they were any good. I'm not too keen on Tamiya , but if that is all that is going it will have to do. I didn't know if you knew of any other makes, because I would rather buy something with a bit more quality sim

      Simon Kemp. Models I guess you mean the Tamiya British Infantry marching. I have them painted up and with regards to my not so great skills on painting faces I do like them very much. British troops are so difficult to find. It's like you Brits hadn't been involved in the invasion at all, at least in this segment of modeling. Jens

      Thank you Jens , I am going for Tamiya troops. If you rate them. They can't be too bad. I just been didn't want to buy something I would put in the bin and now you're thinking what the hell does he want with figures. There's a couple of kit reviews, I'm doing, I think you will figure that out ( all anyway. What invasion was that) sim

    Nicely done Simon (jigs) I am fortunate that I have two fly tying vises that I will be using for mine. I will be employing Jens method because he has the 4 barbs. Nothing wrong with two, that is where I started off as well. Considering the headache I am giving myself LOL, with accuracy with my WWI dio, I thought may as well go all the way LOL. KUTGW

      No problems. I made the video for the jig really because most people got an idea of how barbed wire goes together. This was just something to help them get things together many thanks for taking the time to watch my video SIM

      Simon Kemp. Models
      Well having 4 barbs was a little too fiddly for me, so I went with two. Screw the real thing LOL. I simply have too much barbed wire to build (10 feet or more) for the WWI dio.

      @simonkemp.models4742 8 лет назад +1

      I know I tried doing 4 drove me absolutely mad. In the end I went with two looks just as good and if that close enough to notices there is only 2 their to close sim

      Thank you John, I thought I better let you know I was impressed that little kitchen that you got for your diorama. I've taken the bit between my teeth and I've ordered one, but keep it quiet as I going to try to do some figures are let you know how I get on if you don't hear anything you know it will be a disaster sim

    Cheers for this video, do you need to glue the wire in place or solder it or will it all stay in place by itself??
    Many thanks.

    • @simonkemp.models4742
      @simonkemp.models4742 8 лет назад +2

      Sorry I didn't explain that in the video, but when you wrap the wire around if you keep it tight so it stays in place, pushing together using your thumb from one side and tweezers from the other side then cut to length and squeeze the Bab together using your tweezers. That is enough to keep it secure until you paint once you've painted it fixes it. So you don't have to do any glowing. I will do video on how to do all of it. Sorry about that Sim

      Simon Kemp. Models Don't you dare say sorry Sim. You are helping out a lot of people with these videos and I for one am very grateful for them. Many thanks for the information and the idea for the rig to make the barbed wire is brilliant. Please keep making these videos and don't ever be sorry, we are all human and having friends online to help each other out is a great and valuable tool to this community.

    I echo the previous comment - very inventive but I was trying to find a cost-effective way of making 1/35 barbed wire; aren’t the barbs a little out of scale? Not finding fault at all; the barbed wire looks bloody briliant - I’m just concerned over scale

  • @gojirageek

    it looks exactly like the barbed wire my fence is made of, as for possibly doing four barbs instead of two i have not personally seen four barbs on a strand of wire mine only has two barbs

      Yes it's John Moore scale models. He did a video on making trees out of wire.. He made quite a big one, you can easily scale it down. I will be doing how to on a few weeks time on how to do trees Very much based on the one that John did but just using a different coating Keep doing what you're doing Sim
