I used these Ogres to wipe out the goblin camp, but when we were down to the last enemies, I turned on them and finished them off. The smart one has a circlet that increases your intelligence to 17!
Worth way more than the Ogres are, that's for sure. Can do amazing multiclassing with that circlet. I put mine on Shadow and gave her 1 level of Wizard. Now she can cast max level Wizard spells.
I did it on tactician without help from the trolls. Just carry an oil barrel (takes a lot of weight) on each of your heroes, and throw them at a choke point, then run away / disengage until they're all stacked and "IGNISSS !" Michael Bay approved 👌
The oil barrels I used them in another playthrough where I tried to play both sides at the same time, and in which I ended up taking part in the defence of the grove in the gob assault by the drow. I had taken all the barrel from the stable of the inn in flames, there were maybe 8 of them. As I shoot a flamestrike from the wall, 3/4 of the gob forces vanished in an instant^^
@@Axelottol69 the game really tries to push you towards creativity. There's so many random items that can be used in combat. Like I kept finding barrels and bottles of water (probably to extinguish fire), but then I found boots that electrifies the water around you, so you can just throw bottles of water to the enemies and run around 😂 Also love the "enlarge" spell on my invoked familiar (cat, rat, spider etc..)
This part was so hard, my party ran away scattered and when I returned from camp I accidentally positioned them well enough to win. Gale up top throwing spells at everyone, Astarion and Shadow Heart next to a ladder killing anyone descending towards them, and my Druid guy by the bridge mauling anyone in his path. It was glorious. Only after this fight did I discover Wyll and Karlach, oops.
This is exactly how I did this, too. lol Only i had a Paladin, Karlach, Shadowheart, and a dueger warlock. Was really epic watching the ogres flank in while we pushed from the gate. Luckily everyone died, so I was able to get the tiara from the fight as well.
I honestly didn't know you could be allies with those 3 ogres! But... have you ever introduced the camp to some well placed explosive barrels? 5 or 6 take down this whole courtyard, except for the one ogre standing in the back. It's glorious!!!

On my first playthrough, and just finished up with the Goblin camp (kinda). Killed the goblin priestess in her chambers within 3 rounds, while she didn't get a single attack off.. Killed the nightwarden drow within 4 rounds, after cutting off any chance of backup. Blew up the hobgoblin like it was the fourth of July using the gunpowder from the storeroom (and then hanging out in the rafters while picking off the rest of the mobs). After spending an entire afternoon trying to fight my way out of the courtyard, I decided to sneak out using misty step and featherfall from the parapets. I'll be back, soon enough, to reap the XP from this camp. I don't want to cheese my playthrough too much with "barrelmancy", it's just that I saw the absurd HP on Dror Ragzlin (the hobgoblin leader), as well as the horde of mobs surrounding him. I made an executive decision to give him an explosive exit, after remembering how much damage gunpowder bombs and barrels do.
On tactician I did it by going peacefully on the right side plaza then, then taking the high ground (there is a large balcony up there on the top right corner of the camp), from which I attacked.

I walked into this part completely unaware that there'd be this crowd to gang up on me right after my fight with 2 Goblin leaders lol Somehow managed to get Astarion run away to safety with the other 3 companions just dead and slowly reviving them - except Gale, cuz Gale was just poisoning the goblins with his circle thing and it's absolutely hilarious lol
Thats my question. I saw 3 ogres in the blighted village and ambushed them without trying to talk to them.... I but now I'm having a hell of a time clearing this courtyard.
I mean…I think calling on them would be difficult..since you killed them. Unless there’s a hidden mechanic where they could come back as ghosts and fight.

Have not done this in tactician yet, but now I see those trolls will certainly come in handy. I usually just kill them for the loot.

I poisoned the goblin’s alcohol then I pushed in with the ogres
Damn I killed the the giant ogres when I went into the town. Wish I would have known they could be allies in this fight...

This game is quite difficult if you don't have a balanced party and good tactics.

@@oopsters4236 what I did with him is to to blow him with three barrels and ignit lol it also killed three goblins on the way with the explosion.
