I'll never understand why they dial so much when they're that close! Just use the reticle and adjust to send the next one.

Thought the same thing, quit dialing! And he might have been better off dropping the bipod legs one notch and resettling the rifle butt into the bag for a more natural point of aim on the 1/2 moa targets but I think he was also probably dealing with mirage at that point. That's a pretty thin barrel.

Understood at level, I thought he needed a higher rear bag, or lower the legs on the bipod a touch as well, but after the first couple shots, I didn't expect he was gonna get that smaller target. Just seemed too unstable in his position.

What exact model 110 has that stock ( trail hunter, predator....) ? I can't seem to find it on Savage's site?

Can you identify the rifle model exactly? At the moment Savage is listing the 110 model in 6mm ARC in two variants. The rifle in the video is not fluted which looks to be the “switchback”? The other variant is the “tactical” which is fluted. Thanks for the help!

It’s the switch back with 22 inch barrel

I ordered my Savage 110 Switchback ^mm ARC in left hand directly from Savage's custom shop. For a little extra I got mine with the 24" barrel instead of the 22" and the actual Accu-Stock instead of the lower end Switchback stock that it comes with.

The 6mm ARC is a fantastic cartridge. I have an AR in 6mm ARC. It has shot sub MOA on every 5 shot group I have attempted. It bucks the wind better than the 22 ARC from what I have seen and is better at this distance on a windy day in my opinion.
The shooter displayed great technique, great adjustments, and produced some very good shots. Congratulations on the fine effort.

Nice! I have the Savage 110 chambered .308 win on a McMillians stock. My longest shot with it so far is 500 yards.

I just don't understand why any body missing a plate a Sauter of an inch dials there scope. If they are aiming at very center of the target simply go to the opposit edge of the target and go toward center halfway to center and hit it. Notice the hit go to the smaller target and hold same off set.

Barrel break in is a myth after much research and talking with manufacturers that is no longer required unless purchasing cheap budget rifles.

Just do some kinda break in. No company is perfect. All barrels are subject to changing for number of reasons.
Break in...round counts when switching ammo etc
Mainly set a goal for yourself!!
What prescion are you after ???
      Figure that out first!
To answer your question yes ss is subject to break ins too.

Why only 2500fps with 108s out of a 22inch bolt gun? My little Axis 2 with 18 inch heavy barrel slings factory 108 ELD-Ms in the mid 2600s and 103s at the 2700 mark....

It's just a light load that my barrel likes and shoots very accurately. Still supersonic at 1,000 so all that's needed is a good wind call.
Currently working up a load with the Berger 108 Elite Hunters that's closer to 2,800 fps

Agreed, but that may just be the node he chose, and the rifle likes... Mine, heavy threaded 22" barrel Axis II, shoots 107 BTHP's 2750, at about 1/2 MOA at 100, and was 1st shot impact at 1000, on a very calm wind day...

@@dougmorehouse7035I was finally able to get couple boxes of the factory 80 grain ELD-VT. Got the notification from Midway that it was finally in but the limit was 2 boxes. The bullet looks to be the exact same length as the 108s, they just left a hollow space in the core to reduce the weight and make it more expansive I guess. My 18 inch Savage HB was slinging them 2980 for an average, with a few hitting close to 3020. I shot a box and a half and they all touch except the last group basically cut the same hole. They should be a really good coyote and head shooting hog round. I really wish Hornady would load some 80 grainers in their American Whitetail line. That interlockt bullet has been a good soft point round for whitetails out to 300 yards in just about every caliber I've tried them in. The ticket to the ARC on deer is gonna be speed. I did a lot of depredation work on whitetails for farmers and tree nurseries here in the Carolinas with the Grendel and although I love the accuracy of the little Grendel, it's slower speed has caused some issues with proper expansion. I ran a 24 inch barrel 243 for years (gotta keep the speed up on a 243 to make it perform correctly) and 80 grain El cheapo softpoints from Federal and Remington were the ticket. They usually averaged 3350 to 3380fps and although they were devestating, barrel life was not so great. The way the shoulder is designed on the ARC, barrel life (especially throat issues) shouldn't be real problem running 3000 fps. If the ARC does what I want it to do out of a shorter 18 inch barrel, I may have found the perfect little universal caliber and I'll step on up to a few higher quality built bolt guns. I didn't want to invest too much in the beginning to I see how the caliber is really gonna perform 👍
