    Thanks and interesting, I'm looking to upgrade my blue model to this model with water temperature and it looks range. Well I ordered an open box unit and we will see, 2019 was a ways back now. I do believe I can program the original miles into the display with the computer info. Thanks for the tear down and I will report how it goes with the tech details. I got the display for 80 and the msrp is 636.00.. Hang on to a car for 12 years and the prices come down... ;) ..

    Do you know of there's a VIN number on the instrument cluster? I want to check if mine has been replaced. Thanks!

    I like your video. I wood like to know if you have to program used cluster ? And how to correct milage ? I have 2001 Elantra I have basic key entry. Want to purchase on eBay used cluster don't know if needed to be programmed and correct milage. If you know any thing about this please send me a message. Thanks Alex .

      No programming was required for the cluster. Only issue with a used cluster is your at the mercy of the mileage on the cluster, you’ll have to find one with similar mileage on it.

    When you get the cluster out can you remove the TPMS light bulb from the back? Do they just pop out?

    • @mr0o
      @mr0o 2 года назад

      It's an LED so you can't just pop it out, but you could put tape over it or something

      @@mr0o Thanks for the reply. I decided to just leave it and ignore it. So amazing they'd make something like that just to make money.

      @@winterdesert1 Take panel out as in the video. carefully remove clear plastic panel by pushing tabs down one at a time. the tabs break really easy. then,pull tach needle off the spindle. lift dial off the panel. you will see holes that the lights shine thru. locate the one you want out by holding dial up and you can see where the light you want out is. Then, what I did was put a small screwdriver in hole and giving it a quick smack with another hard object (I used a pair of pliers). it took a couple of tries. Then plug the wires back in without installing the screws turn ignition on and see if you did it. If not, try again. I could see when I broke it then I knew it was out. LOL.

      @@charleshoward1192 I can't believe it's been a year since I typed that! What I wound up doing was cutting some black Gorilla tape and put some on that curved glass just so that damn light wouldn't annoy me. It must be working because I forgot about it until I saw your post. I'm still amazed at the money making schemes out there with these dumb lights.
