No I don't agree that Da Vinci was just painting a picture or didn't know more about Jesus than anyone else. He was one of the greatest luminaries of ALL modern history. Actually, the holy grail that the knights templar were crazy about finding was the child of jesus with Mary Magdalene. In order to kill them. The early church wanted them gone. I am an Artist- I paint from my heart, and there are always symbolisms present in most everything I've ever painted. Other people don't know that about me. But that doesn't make it untrue, just unknown. Many of these comments are negative- I'm not sure why anyone would even question if DaVinci had placed everything and everyone in a specific place to convey the deeper meaning of the incredibly important event that was the "Last Supper" Laying a mirror image over the painting is not the same thing as putting a picture over a picture and being surprised it makes a whole new picture. A mirror image overlay that does not look a mess, but appears to have elaborated on images created when facing each other, seems to be an intentional move. In the Century this was painted freedom of speech did not exist and it was very dangerous regarding some subjects. Many messages and their meaning were hidden in plain sight. A mirror image overlay is like the yin is to yang, or matter is to anti matter. All things in light have their shadow. In my paintings and photography, I have found that I cannot see the light, without the dark. When I saw the Baby and the Chalice, I didn't think of it as a cup either- I thought of the shape of the cup being similar to a Woman's vaginal birthing canal, and the Baby is the fruit of the womb Jesus. We are all welcome to our own opinions. In a world where we can be anything, why not be kind!?! ❤
