Your bike sounds FANTASTIC!!!!! Bravo! Based on that alone I’m now considering one of these over a Thruxton. If you can listen to this and not smile, you’re a little short on soul.
Nice to see that one of the big-bore RE's is getting ridden and documented. I know of a half-dozen here in the U.S. and although the owners post a video (or videos during the build) ... where are they? Nothing is mentioned nor discussed on the FB sites that pertains to internal engine modifications, instead it is all about the "bling" on the outside. At any rate, both of our bikes are running good, it sounds like you may be having some clutch slip occasionally, I am just installing a Rekluse clutch in my Interceptor 750; bike is at 42,000 miles and the top-end (cam, pistons, etc) has 14,500 miles in the last 13 months. Can't say enough good things about the WiseCo 83.5mm pistons and how well they perform.
I have recently installed the S&S cam and hi comp pistons in my 650 interceptor. Impressed by th performance improvements but can induce clutch slip with heavier clutch springs fitted. Thinking about fitting the Barnett clutch pack as recluse is a bit expensive for a pensioner. Bike has done 20,000km ,500 on new kit.
@@scroaty12 Here's an old trick. Stick an extra plate in the clutch pack, steel or fiber-it doesn't matter, even 2 steels, this preloads the springs and gives more "bite"
Yes clutch isn't too happy how i like to ride and its an after market one as well (Barnett clutch's) Looks like I'll need to buy a Rekluse clutch soon. I don't see the point in spending money on something and not enjoying it.
Hi mate, nice job on the build and good to see you out there riding it the way it should be ridden. Did you build the engine all at once or cam first then upgrade later? Im looking at the big bore kit but haven't made up my mind how far im going with it. What have you done for engine management after mods? Thanks, from Taranaki
Hello, I did the whole upgrade in one hit, I am running a piggy back ecu which I'm happy with. The tuner did say that the piggy back unit had limited tuning and recommended reflashing the stock ecu. I didn't due to not having the time to do so as i was four hours from home when the bike was getting its dyno tune. Stock 650's are fun to ride 865's are brutal.Sure there are other bikes that are faster, handle better etc...I bet there not as fun to ride. Well that's just my opinion. I don't think the 865 upgrade will disappoint you. Check out this video in the link as i share my thoughts about the bike. Let me know if you have any issue's. ruclips.net/video/RCKmcHMel7U/видео.html
Work on your riding skills mate, smooth is the way to go, your all over the show.... Saying this for your own benefit... Also, I heard that clutch slipping a few times, it could be your technique but it was slipping....
hey mate, have a 21 interceptor, bottom line you think its worth doing the upgrade? love the bike been thinking bout doing it, sounds shit hot by the way. Is it still as smooth to ride?
I think its worth the upgrade if you love the Interceptor's nature, The upgrade really wakes these bikes up makes them 100% better. Still smooth to ride, Watch this video as i talk about what i think about my bike. ruclips.net/video/RCKmcHMel7U/видео.html
No baffles installed. The sound recorder I'm using isn't the best quality. The bike in person sounds a whole lot better. My RUclips channel is too small to invest in high-quality gear at this stage.
Unfortunately, I had the recording level set to high. In person the bike sounds fantastic. I do have a pair of baffles coming for the mufflers to hopefully reduce the noise.

I would buy the Thruxton. The amount of money i have spent to get this bike at the level its at. Save your time and money buy the Triumph.
crispy man
Cheers

@@scroaty12 luckily I bought the Rekluse clutch kit on a labor day sale, it was about $100 off the usual $459. I had been looking at it for a while...
I can get Barnett set for $NZ460 or get a Recluse kit in from Australia for $NZ1,000+ . Too much for me!

Great overtake at 11.25!
Even hitting the rev limiter!😁
Nice ride , but Too Loud Dude , put a little back pressure on that beauty...
Hi, thanks for the comment, I'm in the process of getting silencers for the mufflers now. I meant to get them a while ago.
Please do a walk around of your int650....
Check this link, I do a walk around of the bike at the start of the video.
