- Driving from Mekele to Addis Abeba we come across traditional farming, visit a windy but friendly market, get an impression of the villages, teach school children and enjoy the countryside.
We visited Ethiopia on our overland trip from the Netherlands to South Africa and South America; see our channel / janvanbekkum for hundreds of clips.

Before the uprising that brought pm abiye to power, I believed Ethiopia was developing and Ethiopian people’s living conditions were better comparing to it’s neighbors. It turned out that I was very wrong. According to this video and many others, Ethiopia is not doing much better than any of it’s neighbors. The example is in this video. Look at the market and streets. Yes some roads are paved but other infrastructures are in dare conditions. Ethiopia is in huge debt where does all that money went? Even ADIS doesn’t look good compare to Nairobi.

Well, you asked a valid question. I wish I provide u an answer. Ethiopia is still poverty stricken country partly because of mismanagement and extortion by ruling party (now debunked woyane). It breaks my heart to see my people in such dire and miserable conditions.

I’ve been to Mekelle numerous times and it’s dirt poor! The tap water is diluted with salt, no electricity, few real roads and structure. It’s a shambles!
