  • After missing his third dunk, Marcus Fizer finished ninth in the 1997 McDonald's All-American Dunk Contest.
Fizer went on to become an AP All-American at Iowa State, averaging 22.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Fizer entered the 2000 NBA Draft following his junior year, where he was selected fourth overall by the Chicago Bulls.
Fizer showed promise through his first two NBA seasons, averaging 12.3 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Bulls in 2002. However, a torn ACL toward the end of the 2003 season sidetracked Fizer's ascent and his NBA career fizzled out in 2006.
