😡I find it really disgusting that they are literally selling a $59 product for $300. I was just on Mercari today. It’s gross. Because they are taking away the chance of someone going in their store and finding it just so they can jack up the price five or six times what it’s worth😡
Having to "fight" for them is definitely taking the fun out of it. The resellers are buying up everything. They call, they shop in person and online. I'm definitely not buying anything from them. I don't think Bath & Bodyworks is handling this release very well. They didn't even have all the stuff in the collection at the store I was at. I was lucky to get a globe. And I was 3rd in line. I love Halloween, and I hope they do restock and give people a chance to get some of this stuff at a decent price.

@@kayscarpetta5502 The problem is that they are doing ALL THAT to be greedy resellers. Not because they genuinely want the product for their self like the rest of the us who are just trying to get it without having to fight for it.
My hope is that people stop supporting the outrageous prices of resellers. If nobody pays those prices, they won’t ask such high prices and will hopefully stop the resell. I don’t even blame the sellers, it’s the buyers. Stop supporting it and they won’t do it. Lol.

That's absolutely right! Don't EVER buy on the secondary market UNLESS the price is reduced as normally "used" merchandise is reduced.

You made a great point. Bath and Body Works is not home goods!! So I think they should be putting a lot more stock online the demand is so high you would think they would want to get all these sales they're missing out on!

The manager at my store said that some of the candle pedestals were made to be exclusive "rare" pieces this season to help drive traffic in the store. If that is true I am really disappointed in them.

@@juliemcdaniel499 I agree with you that this is purely a business strategy to increase sales and, ultimately, market shares in an increasingly competitive retail space. It is disappointing, though, when there's such a limited supply it's hard to get high demand products.
I'm sure it's true. They know what they're doing and they want to drive up seasonal hype.
As a huge Halloween person I was so excited for this collection, since it’s July I thought the hype for spooky decor wouldn’t be crazy, I was clearly very wrong. But oh my- when I finally found the water globe the cashier asked me “you’re not just going to resell this right”, I nodded no and they proceeded to explain how they got attacked when they opened the store by a mob of resellers fighting each other for everything. The water globe I got was one an employee was going to buy but left behind, it was a bit scratched but it’s better than nothing. The resellers are trying to take advantage of us, it’s exactly like the whole Rae Dunn situation, and if people buy from them they’ll keep doing it.
I got the clear glass skull and black cat online and got the butler, crooked gold-drip candelabra and spider web metal holder at my local BBW. I had the monster in my hands but it had some damage- for $59 I did not want it that bad. There were at least 10 water globes on display. The items I picked up in store were after work and just lucky they were replenishing the display. I like everything and they look so cool and fun together. BBW did a great job with the Halloween decor items this year.
They really need to make more decor. I really wanted that flamingo globe over the Summer, but my stores never got them in. I did get the butler though.

I ended up calling customer service because as you know, I was already sooo upset over them cancelling the hands from my order FOUR days after confirming them multiple times via email...but THEN to top it all off, the rest of my order arrived today, and it was literally like I had dumpster dived for it!!!😱 The boxes were completely saturated, collapsed, broken glass falling out of the boxes when I picked it up...I cut myself taking pictures of the disaster...ALL of my single wicks were shattered - zero bubble wrap used, a couple 3-wicks broken, the labels of almost everything were destroyed from all the soap & hand spray leakage, and glass scratching...half the soaps, and AB spray were actually open and empty with broken pumps...AND several items were just MISSING altogether - she even verified all tracking & that's all that was sent-no more coming! I was in shock- nearly cried...The CSA was AMAZING though & went above and beyond to make it right!!! She said she was shocked I actually got my maid pedestal (luckily it was in its own entirely separate securely packaged box🙏😅) cause ALL day she's been getting complaint calls about these cancelled items! I did vent a bit then, mainly just asking in frustration WHY do they confirm items via email that aren't actually available?? She explained the website doesn't update real time, and its total count is stores & the warehouses, so when it comes time to pack our orders the inventory just isn't there...or something like that. Made sense I guess, but you would think they'd do some serious restructuring after this fiasco!!! She was so nice & funny...and even got me laughing at least...saying "Oooo these resellers gonna get theirs for all this fraud, like the Lysol ladies at start of Covid"🤣 I'm slowly accepting that I'm probably just not going to get the witch hands, because I REFUSE to pay these prices that I swear are getting even higher every time I check!😤

For example, last years projection wallflower plug with the witch flying on a broom, was sold out everywhere I looked. Now, last years projection wallflower plug is the only one available so far this launch. No sign of the new ones. 😡

i was talking to the manager at my local bath and body works today and we both agreed that this is crazy and that they really should have sent more to the stores then just two of each item. What i think they should do is open a pre sale and put a cut off date on it so that people can actually have a chance and so that they know how many items they need to make. I don't think any of us would be upset if we had to wait a little to get the item as long as it was actually guaranteed we would be getting them, it's three months out from Halloween so i don't see why they couldn't do it. So far none of the stores near me have gotten in either of the items i want yet so i'm hopeful i can still be able to get them (i'm after the woman bust and the monster). If i'm able to get them i think they'll be great editions to my library, i like to keep it spooky all year round.

My oldest daughter was born in 1983. At the time I worked next door to a children's boutique. They carried the ORIGINAL Cabbage Patch dolls that had cloth faces & were signed by Xavier. I got her a blonde blue-eyed one named Abigail & she is still boxed up in perfect condition! (a collector's item) I "gave" it to her at her 1st birthday party! haha But yes- I remember the crazed parents looking for the mass-produced & less expensive ones with the rubber/plastic heads in the months before Christmas. Glad I didn't have to deal with that LOL! I have never seen BBW Halloween decor in such demand...I have a lot of stuff that I got from the last 2 years so I wasn't going to get anything this year- until I saw the hand. Got lucky but that's all I'm getting. I hope all of you end up getting at least one from your faves list!
The people leaving bad reviews on the site due to lack of stock are ridiculous. If you are mad at BBW, leave the company a review and not the individual products. People are reviewing products they don’t even own.

Have you seen a preview of what Yankee Candle is coming out with this year? IMO, it blows BBW out of the water and Yankee always has plenty to go around. I’m totally over this BBW nonsense.

People that have eBay stores are buying everything up and then selling for double or even triple prices. That’s probably what is mostly going on . Don’t believe me , look for yourself. It’s not fair but whatever. I can do without. Bath and body shouldn’t allow this . Limited items should apply when ordering to be fair.Other sites are doing the same . It literally ruins the holidays for other people. Price gouging is what’s going on. If it keeps happening, I will stop buying from bath and body works . I hate to do that but they are letting this happen 🤔

Yes! I remember the cabbage patch craze and my parents managed to find some for me even a set of twins. I went into one of my stores today and was told to just keep checking back as they are continually getting in stock. I do have the butler on hold at one store. I want all three pieces. As much as I want the pieces I refuse to pay third party prices.

😩😩😩The only way to get this stuff is to stay on top of Instagram to see what’s coming out, find out when it’s about to come out and call the stores to see who has it. Then you need to go in the stores every day to look for it. Because like you said, once it hits the floor it’s gone! I was lucky enough to get two of the tuxedo holders, two of the 3-wick bat holders, 2 bat soap holders, one monster, two of the wobbly offkilter holders with the dripping gold at the top. I just called every day and I went store to store.😮😮😮
I honestly feel that the reason these halloween decor are sold out is because resellers are buying them in bulk to sell them at outrageous prices. I think the decors were a limited run for now it I’m sure they restock once we are closer to fall or September.

I remember when I was little, walking into JC Penney with my mom waiting for the employee to come out with the box, and once he cut the box open all the adults looking like piranhas on that box grabbing them...lol! But anyway, I don't think bath and body works was expecting this response on their halloween line, and I'll see what will happen when their Christmas line drops. That's me, I tell myself...."I give up, I'm never going to find anything", then I find myself still looking, lol.

It would be great if they sent more to the stores and the employees didn't reserve ALL of them for themselves. They DO get inventory.....but the employees snag them before they even hit the floor. So the general public near some stores never even see them.

My dad actually got me a Cabage Patch, but I wanted the blond and he got me a red head. He was so traumatized that he told my mom she could take it back and exchange it for me. Now with BBW, I’ve got a bad feeling because my 2 orders haven’t shipped and I think I may just end up with the soaps, candles and Barnabus, that’s what I named the bat soap holder. But no candle holders which will really make me mad. We’ll see.

I work for bath and body works part time and let me tell you we had 8-10 calls per day before the launch for stuff and even heard about the “scalpers” reselling the stock. It’s so unfortunate because then we get yelled at for not having anything when people buy it just to resell it.
I don’t and won’t participate in crazy reselling prices. A lil over is one thing but triple the prices is another. But my teenage boys will spend crazy amount of there savings on up price gym shoes. I don’t get it!

I think if you drop it once it might break. But if you can find it from bath & body then by all means get it! 😊 I’m honestly surprised bath and body didn’t cancel it 😅

I went to my store today. They had the gentleman bust but they said they put the woman out yesterday and it sold. The man they just put out today. They had 2 witch hands they put out yesterday but the associate took one for her niece and the other sold yesterday. They had 2 water globes still out, and like 3 skulls. No monsters if they ever had any.
It’s like this every year. They say it’s not going out until a certain date but that’s always a lie, they’ll put it out whenever they feel like it. It even went up online 3 days earlier than stated and all the good stuff sold out before most of us knew about it.

Cabbage Patch Kids!! I got two of them, Christmas 1981, stood in line for 12 hours. When the store clerk handed them to us, a lady pushed me down and took one from me and tried to buy it! She was arrested, it was nuts, I was 11!! You really took me back!! Memories!!

I went to 2 bbws today. The first had about 6 Halloween globes and 1 tilted pedestal. The second had 1 globe and 2 butlers (it was just ok in person). I only bought the tilted pedestal, the one I liked the most.

I ordered the lady bust, the hanging kitty cat and the clear light-up skull online. However, of course my lady bust was canceled due to ran out of stock. But! Today I went to the store and purchased the butler bust and the monster. When I came home my neighbor had recieved my online order which was the light-up skull and the hanging kitty cat. So, all in all I have the BUTLER, MONSTER, AND LIGHT- UP SHULL. IM DONE!...LOL

As someone who absolutely loves Halloween, I'm conflicted between feeling like "yay, Halloween products are out" and "it's only July. Too early for Halloween products."
There were more, but obviously some people bought multiple of them to sell and make a fortune..sad you can't find one because someone else bought 20 just to resell

I agree with your husband I am not a fan this year of the Halloween decor. I think people have a fear of missing out when they see items sold out or being resold for crazy prices.. the regular retail prices are already crazy for the items anyway.
I live in the UK where there’s no B&BW, no coupons and no access to the app. If I want a candle I have to pay equivalent of $35 dollars each approx 😩 PS on the subject of unfairness I don’t think it’s fair that the app isn’t available to all states and if you do get the app you shouldn’t also get coupons that’s double whammy and doubly unfair

I think Bath and Body Works knew exactly what they were doing to be honest. Halloween has always been a popular holiday but as someone who has been obsessed (and I do Mean OBSESSED) with Halloween since childhood, it’s only gotten harder the past few years. You used to be able to find even good Halloween stuff after Halloween. I remember getting some very cool vintage signs for 75%off after Halloween in 2017 and I thought I can’t believe they are still here. Now that more people work from home and tend to “stalk” social media and new releases, everything is gone before most even get a chance. Bath and Body Works should have only let people buy one of each item and/or been ready with much more product. They have people who study social media and trends. They knew the demand would be outrageous. Perhaps the most depressing thing is the up-sellers. They take advantage of what people really desire and then don’t just aim for a profit, they aim to make 5 times or more the items value. I wish companies could mark items with barcodes that as soon as you buy it, you are prohibited from ever selling it on a public platform. I got the “male” bust and the hand and supposedly the “female” bust has shipped. But I went thru H*ll to get the first two. I had to ask off early from work and drive to 5 different stores. It’s kinda of sad that a customer would have to do that in July for Halloween merchandise.
I agree 100%. B&BW knows EXACTLY what they are doing. They are marketing geniuses who know just how to get people to empty their wallets.
Also with the pick up in store. Your store might have the item and the website will not reflect that. I work at BBW and there has to be a certain amount of stock available to be able to pick up in store. For example if my store has two witch hands it will not be available for buy online and pick up in store.

Just look at the reviews for the single wick Witch Hand Pedestal online at BBW (which is limited stock/sold out) - so many comments of limited stock and/or people buying multiples in store or all stock in stores. I'm so over it!!

Bonnie, as hard as some of the products may seem to find, I still think the slatkin/bbw years with haunted houses, etc demand was even higher.
I was up early at 5:11 am and saw the witch's hand pedestal and placed in my cart easily. May want to stalk the website in the wee hours. Always thought the site refreshed at 6:30 am but found a the witch's hand. They had the diamond spider 3 wick holder also.
I did the same, but was unable to checkout. Been up since 3am - everything is smooth until you put your card in and hit submit, it will say not in stock lol
I saw that too around 5:15 am but when I clicked add to cart the site always said stock was too low.
I think they should do pre sales that way if you want it you can help pay for them to produce them.

My store had a headless butler yesterday when I went in. I don't usually pay attention to the home decor items because I don't use the candle holders I already have. I didn't think to look for the other holders. I will have to try to remember when I go in again and see which holders they have

Well if people stop paying those ridiculous prices this wouldn’t happen. I think BBW creates this frenzy. For instance only certain stores or areas will have a good deal. Or items are available online but not in store. I don’t do a lot of online shopping so it’s rare for me to even see any of these items. I did see the Halloween snow globe but I don’t want to spend that much money.

Happy Tuesday. 🤗 The only B&BW Autumn decor I have looked for is the black vines 3 wick candle holder. It has sold out while in my online cart 2x since Friday. 😐 They do not have them in the store nearest me. Mercari has outrageous prices generally. 😨 eBay does as well on many hot items. I also refuse to pay a triple or more mark up for products on those platforms. 👎🏼 As an eBay seller, I always list items for fair prices. Let’s see where the Fall B&BW roller coaster 🎢 takes us next. 🤔 R🍀

That's why I didn't order the decor online. For Spring my Easter bunny candle holder came with broken ears. It wasn't even wrapped in a protective cover!

My lady headless thing was in the styrofoam and it's original box inside another BBW box, so it was fine. And they only charged me the regular 5.99 shipping for a very big box. Its the same with the starbucks cups. IRS needs to do a resellers tax of 35% for all items priced over $50 of normal costs. Halloween couldve waited till September. They release too soon its still July. I will do fall nearer fall and just taken what I can get. Bath and Body Works really needs to slow down. Too high resellers need tobbe stopped yes for those of us that actually want an item .... or cup!!
Did they ever have that second wave of products? I bought the maid bust during SAS for 50% off and also using my 20% off coupon, I only paid $19.99! I love it so much, it's so stunning; it is displayed on my beauty table. I was at a huge B&BW store and they had a ton of maid busts so I was just wondering.
It’s really interesting I think as to why this year? I’ve known the hand gel holders sell out sometimes too. There was a bat last year that everyone wanted and you could never get it online but it was selling for triple or more on EBay etc. Is it that people are just now catching on to people being BBW collectors and that therefore there’s a market to make money?

Some stores only had like 2 or 4 in store so they are not getting much stock either

The monster is just really hard to get my hands on. I love all things halloween this is my 1 holiday as im not big on christmas etc... i would maybe settle for a witches hand but i do not use single wicks as much. I was lucky enough to get the titled pedestal. My store had 5 total and i really hope 4 more people got them not just 1 greedy person.

I’m wondering if they only made a limited quantity of their stock available for purchase both in store and online because they already anticipated this happening, especially so far in advance like you said Bonnie. Hopefully that is the case and more will be released soon or closer to Halloween, but I’m hoping BBW picked up on this trend and is planning accordingly. Also I didn’t like the bust pedestals much before, but I’m coming around to them esp the butler, I’d love to see what it looks like with a candle actually on top. I was able to get the tilted pedestal & glad I did because that’s off the site now too. The next at the top of my list is the bat candle holder, it’s so cute. I hope we all get the ones we really want to have!

It seems like the resellers have really zeroed in Halloween the past few years, as Halloween popularity dramatically picked up.
Do NOT buy from resellers!
Where I live the resellers work in a group and have a handful of people circling all of the stores and clearing anything they see. They are rude and pushy, grabbing things off carts before they even hit the shelves.
The employees (Target, TJMaxx, etc.) have told me horror stories and feel like the store policies don't allow them to limit or prevent it. This situation puts many of them in incredibly uncomfortable positions that can make their jobs extra stressful.
These resellers are only looking out for themselves and I think it's just extremely selfish behavior.
I was super lucky to get a witch hand and tuxedo 3 wick (butler) and I'm so incredibly thankful. It was sheer luck and timing, though my local store has the nicest, sweetest employees. These will be year round display pieces in our house.
Best of luck in your hunt. I really hope they restock or bring them back next year as they did with the plug in that projects the witch from last year, it is available online now.
My husband just ordered the female candle holder bust for $175 on Mercari. That's an insane price but I literally can not find it at any of my local stores and I've been calling customer service the past few days to see if they can push an order through for me and they couldn't. I decided it was worth the markup. It's adorable!

This is ridiculous that Halloween items are sold out in July. Given that they like to make all the money I would be shocked that they wouldn’t make more given that all of these items probably take pennies to make.

Yeah but if you made a limited amount, then don't advertise an early release!!! They did the promo last month get ready for Halloween etc. This is on Bath and Body Works. They messed up big time.
My store didn’t get the whole collection. It got a globe with floating ghosts confetti and even though it was all scratched up I got it because I knew I’d never get my hands on it again. Stop buying from resellers!
Now the craze are squishmallows. 😆 But honestly, I did not expect the Halloween things to be so popular, I am happy I am not on a hunt for them.
