Thanks. While I don't disagree that this tune has some clever harmonic twists, I was hoping you might spend some time on the melody which is almost riff-like but definitely mellow! Although I have a long ways to go, I always try to model my improvs with some piece of the original tune so that it sounds organic (and I don't end up playing the same stuff all the time).
Hi - I just started with your channel. And I really like the 100 tunes section. My plan is to make my way through the entire series. Being a guitarist, I tend to focus on chords. And I think of the scale of the moment when soloing. I believe that horn players think of the chord of the moment. True? Care to elaborate?
Good to have you here! I don’t think it’s a guitar or horn thing, I think it has to do with the person and what they are trying to sound like. There are many other ways of thinking too like key center playing, etc… Whatever works and gets you closer to the sound in your head! 🎶
