Taunton is on the Great Western Mainline between London Paddington - Exeter St Davids. Not bad for freight with lots of departmental workings going through powered by Freightliner and sometimes DBS. GBRF, Freightliner and DBS run most of the freight through the station with DRS sometimes doing a nuclear flask working from Plymouth. There is a yard just south of the station but not visible from the platforms called Fairwater Yard and this is where all the departmental workings go to/from.
