Mark's music is always excellent. My husband was his biggest fan (he died almost 15 years ago). Because of him, I had the joy of knowing his music and being able to see him live in Argentina. For my daughter, he was Uncle Mark because that's what my husband called him when he played his music for her to listen to. I'm glad he's still writing great tunes.

The first time I heard Mark’s voice I was 7. It was an old Dire Straits’ tape my uncle gave me. 33 years and counting! 😊 His voice touches some strange strings that take me somewhere peaceful and happy. Yesterday I was listening to “Laugh and jokes and drinks and smokes” with my 7 years old son and he’s still listening that same song since then. Can’t thank Mark enough for this. It is not easy capturing the mind of a child this way. ❤
I was nineteen when I first heard Dire Straits. Today, at the age of 51, Mark's music gives me the same comfort. Lying on the bed at night coming face to face with myself. I wouldn't thank you Mark, it would be selfish, you complete me.

I was just watching some old film somebody had posted on RUclips of a hotrod and custom run my wife, now sadly passed away, and I used to go to back in the 80s. I was feeling pretty sentimental after I caught a glimpse of us walking in the background and then above the chat and laughter there's the sound of the DJ playing Dire Straits. It really bought it home to me how Mark Knopfler really has been the soundtrack to my life.
