Awesome Job Kevin yet again. We have been to every one of those places you stopped. Michigan offers some beautiful adventures. Munising is our favorite, we camp on Lake Superior and it never gets old.
You got some great shots of two of the prettiest lighthouses on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. We love Point Betsie and East Grand Island Channel lighthouse. And an awesome bow view of the Edwin Gott. We love the whole Upper Peninsula and have thousands of pictures of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the old ore dock in Marquette and got to see Mammatus clouds over the ore dock after a storm chased us off the Black Rocks at Presque Isle Park. Bonus was seeing the lilacs blooming around Marquette Harbor Lighthouse when the rain made them really stand out against the red of the lighthouse.
Had to laugh after seeing Kilwins we had to google their locations. Wouldn’t you know there was one here in Denver where we were vacationing and we had to stop in and buy chocolate. Loved the book which we bought for our son living in Duluth. Glad to have met you in Marinette and learned about your channel.
Hi all. Lately, I've had to remove a few inappropriate comments and permanently block some folks. I can't believe I have to say this and I apologize to the rest of you - but if you choose to leave a comment be an adult about it. No one wants to hear your hate-filled rants.
I'm so happy for you both that you get to enjoy such wonderful locations and meet great people along the way, thank you so much for giving me the chance to enjoy a bit of it as well. Wish I could go myself, but health and cash are not the best, so I will enjoy what I can.
Kevin- I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate your work. Your storytelling combined with your exceptional photography and vlogs are an absolute tour de force. My dad has been battling back from a stroke and he really enjoys watching each and every video you put up. They’ve really helped him a lot and has given him motivation to keep fighting. So hats off to you sir and thank you again for everything you do. You’re a bright light in an otherwise difficult world!
After reading about how they had to replace the foundation of the buildings, I figured it was to break up the energy of the waves to reduce the effects of erosion. Thanks for weighing in!
I live not even an hour from Petoskey. I love Kilwins. Awesome quality chocolate. But I am partial to the cholate that's made in my home town. Alpine chocolate Haus which ironically has a location in the soo. The soo is my favorite place to go. Between the freighters, the community, and the location. Its just a perfect place to be.
Been to a bunch of this trip. Kilwins will be on my next trip up. Got the Coast Guard tour of Whitefish Point Light on my tour about 10 years ago. Great job! Good on ya! :{D
Love the lighthouse photo between the two tall trees. You made the best of less-than-ideal lighting conditions. That brewery looks like a fun place to hang out too! Just curious… were you able to use your tripod at the Soo Locks observation platform? I keep meaning to get over there someday but was wondering if I would be able to use my tripod there.
@@1Long2Short I video from the soo locks a lot, as Kevin said, its very complicated with the crowd, last June i tried to video tape the Canadice Elise arriving into the Mac lock and kids were constantly running back and forth screaming and constantly near tripping over the legs of my tripod making the footage unusable. The fence on the ground is just wide enough to fit a camera lens though it. A lot better spot to film and gives a better and different perspective to filming ships in the Mac Lock. Filming ships in the Poe is a lot more difficult when you are filming on the ground as you cant see the ship much due to the ship being blocked by cranes, stop logs, etc. I went back to the soo last august and tried to film the Atlantic Huron and the James R. Barker. They were both in the Poe and using the tripod was near impossible due to all the people and I had to film with just the camera in my hand. Another good view is being in front of the lock gates when a ship is departing. you are are most 10 feet from the departing vessel. It gives a good perspective of the ships true size and allows for great up-close shots. I prefer filming at Rotary Island Park (Mission Point) way less crowded and ships are pretty good for giving a salute right there.

Thank you for sharing your travels with us. Beautiful pictures and videos and great story telling.
Thank you. I'm glad you appreciate the work it takes!

I do not know how you can call 1000ft boat that square in back with a blunt bow but I agree just beautiful.
Just found your channel.
Been enjoying your vids. Thank you.

Thank you Mark. I'd like to reach out to your dad. Is there an email I can do that? Mine is kodophoto55@gmail.com. thanks!
The 'bricks' placed on the shoreline are to break up the intensity of wave action to stop shore erosion. 👍

I loved this. I have been to all these places except the candy place. Their fudge is so good. I like watching the ships on the Soo camera.
Loved this post! Thanks for sharing!

Sounds great! I'm always on the look out for great local chocolates! Thanks!

Yes, but it was very crowded - shoulder to shoulder and I had to straddle it so no one kicked the legs. Not ideal. That's why I left early.
@@KODOPhoto Thanks Kevin! That is good to know.

As always Kevin a wonderful production. A fantastic journey, one I would like to make.
Always enjoyed your page. Please keep politics out of your videos. Takes the fun out
