Hola mate, thanks so much :D I'll try to post one track per week and a breakdown of this in the future. Stay tuned. I also plan a litte live session with the tracks i posted, just need to figure out how to get yt fans informed about it haha cheers!
Thanks Greg 😀 ordered a better tripod today - the construction I’m using right now is too complicated haha will be able to post more and faster soon I hope 🤞
@@stravets83 the Sound of Track 2 comes mainly by using tons of send reverb! The sample is super short with a high amount of reverb; the samples itself don’t overlap so they don’t stop each other. Does it answer your question ? 🤔
Awesome. I'm trying to learn how to create minimal atmospheric and minimal ambient on iPad. But I keep coming back to Digitakts. And don't have the budget. So I will have to find a way. Learning a lot just from listening to your work!
Yeah that’s horrible I know. I always came back to it too .... and I saved some time to get it as well. But to start you can do the same techniques on tablets too! Gear doesn’t limit your creativity, it’s all in your Head! Did you check the Model samples ? It’s half of the Digitakt price and a very good beginner machine, check out my latest videos with both of these machines.
Thanks a lot Bob! I recently bought a soundpack with Kicks only, that's splitted into low end and top end frequencies of each kick. I just don't have the store name anymore haha I will try to find out later and let you know.
Hi Mike, thank you! I think the kick of this track was not from a Lo-Fi library, it was a sample I found in a deep house collection - it sounds pretty clean.
Thanks, super nice video, really instructive, hope you'll do more video like that, thank you. What is your sample on track 2? SAD? where we can find that? Thank you again
Hi, welcome on my channel 😊 and thx for watching! Track 2 plays a “SID” sample. The SID was the Soundchip of the Commodore 64 computer, it had 3 simultaneous voices and generated a very specific 8bit sound. When you google it, you will find lots of sample libraries and info about that 80s machine!
59 Perlen well the two machines are complementary and synergistic... I use the DT as a complex groovebox ( and MIDI sequencer) and the BB to quantize, timestretch and play long loops
Hi! Welcome to my channel and thx 🙏 I record most of my jams with Overbridge as I sometimes love to compress a little when I release a jam officially - mixing much better that may ! For me. They for pretty well, also for the DT. The only thing I would change is the FX send, but that’s a conceptual thing of the Digitakt.
@@59Perlen i was thinking it would be cool if the digitakt would have individual outputs for the effects. i think it is indeed possible to route the effects out of the L R outputs on the DT.
Hi there ! Thx for watching ❤️ my video setup is a little complicated - audio (digitakt and mic) are going into a Roland go mixer, and that is recorded by an iPad. The digitakt video is filmed by my iPhone, the clip of myself with a logicam webcam. I put altogether with Adobe premiere. I want to get this more optimized in my next videos as this setup takes too much time to prepare and process.
@@59Perlen wow! What kind of mixer? Is it worth it for a digitakt? I am trying to record it into ableton directly via USB, but the FX are on the master. not the tracks. a bit of a challenge!
I don’t recommend that Roland Mixer for Studio recordings. It made for recordings on the go (thus its name), not for studio. It also records always the sum of digitakt only, it can’t record separate stems as you do with overbridge. So, the setup for recording the Breakdown video is different than my normal jams - these are always recorded as separate tracks into Ableton, the video is recorded with my phone and I combine the Ableton export later with the jam video. The reason for having a different setup with the Roland go mixer is the microphone and the comfort to record it straight into iOS. I don’t know if this sounds senseful 🤣 maybe I’m too complicated with it :)
bassalucas yes! The individual tracks are recorded mixed, a very few I compress and the master send includes some tape noise. I then export the master and put it over the jam video :) cheers
This is the kind of subtlety I'm looking for. Wonderful breakdown.
I love those subtle movements in my tracks ... the DT makes it easy to achieve these !
Thank you for the breakdown!
My pleasure, I hope you learned a little about my workflow :)

Hey :) haha 😂 ach da bleibt sicher noch Zeit übrig :) ja der Trick ist super und auch gut als Transition geeignet! Viel Erfolg :)
Thank you!!
A pleasure man !
WauW!!! This BreakDown is Awsome Matt !!! What a Vibe, i learn a lot from your tutorials, many thanks for that 🙏❤️🙏

Hey Marc! That’s so good to read - thank you, glad you enjoyed. I will make this kind of content soon again :) cheers !
Very good video!!! Was looking for a good Digitakt workflow video for about a week now.. had some doubts pulling the trigger, but now I'm convinced!
Hey, I'm very glad that my video has helped you! Lucky you are convicend now :) Have fun with the Digitakt :) Matthias
Love video and your presentation
Hi! Thanks for the feedback, highly appreciated! Hope to hear tracks from you :)
Love your grooves and these breakdowns are super inspiring and helpful! Thanks for putting in the effort to share this with everyone!
Hello Travis, thanks a lot. I'm glad to share my knowledge, and even more happy if you get inspired. Thanks :D
Great track, great break down, really creative techniques to make something so simple so complex. Great job once again, thanks for always sharing!
Hi Kyle, thanks for the lovely comment ❤️
I really like what you did with the bit reduction on the pad. So interesting to see how other people work with the digitakt. Nice one!
Hey thanks for the nice comment ! Glad you like 👍🏼 I use BR on most of the tracks ... love it !
Holly! Playing a certain trigg via "Func+ Trigg + yes" is such a useful shirtcut! How did I not now this?
And also thanks for all the other helpful stuff! I love how you creat atmosphere, can't wait to try these tricks myself later today :D
Elektron introduced it with the latest update I think. Maybe you just missed it hehe thanks for watching, let us know about the outcomes !
Thanks, some great ideas there!
Thanks Frank. Glad you benefit a little !
Great walkthrough! Thanks!
Hey Szymon, thanks for watching, glad you like the video ❤️
Super efficient structure but you keep it interesting! Love the style man, these breakdowns are great

Hi :D Danke sehr, freut mich das es dir gefällt :D Cheers! Mat
Thanks a lot for this almost a tutorial. Keep it going.

@@59Perlen About the second track, how do you prevent two samples being cut by each other? Thanks!

Great track! Love it! ( but the title of the album is a little bit confusing... I’ve got a Digitakt and a 1010music Blackbox 😬🧐🤣)
Oh ! Never heard of that one 🤣 gotta check it out ... haha thx anyways, appreciate your feedback !
59 Perlen it’ s wonderful and very small sampler 😎

sounds great mate! may be I missed it, but where's the baseline coming from?
Thanks for watching 😊 the Bassline sits on track 6 I think ... can’t watch right now, but it’s a very simple sinus waveform I’m using there. Cheers :)

Commodore 64 kid here too 😁
Oh Yeah i remember the first games ... the sound capabilities of that computer have been out of this world !!!
