Bro I don’t know who you are… but not all heroes wear capes. Some have the exact video you need on RUclips to fix a potentially expensive issue. Thank you good sir. If I knew who you were I would buy you a beer or other alcoholic beverage of your choice… or whatever drink you’re into :). Thank you sir.
My recliner was stuck in the up position and this excellent video help me eliminate the motor, the wiring harness, and the power supply. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for this. I just had both of my recliners stop working on a 3 year old couch and they both died within 6 months of each other. If I plug the power supply in, the light on the power supply immediately goes out as if there's a short somewhere. I then pulled the 5-pin plug that goes to the switches and the power supply will stay on and not go out (leading me to believe there is a short in the switch). I then did what you showed in this video and jumped the pins and was able to get the recliner to work both ways! I now ordered replacement switches. Thank you so much for this I was trying to figure out which connectors to jump when I came across this video. Perfect!
did the replacement switch work iam having the same problem? but I don't want to waste my money? and where did you get the replacement part?? THANKS 👍🏾

Exactly as you describe for my situation on a Costco recliner. This Video enabled me to validate that the motor was good... off to buy a switch replacement. Thanks everyone!!
Excellent! I picked one of these up as part of an estate sale auction lot and wanted to make sure that it worked first in order to sell it. I was about to buy a used controller for that but you saved me the coin. THANK YOU!!

My unit has two motors and a controller box. Pin 1 to 3 and 2 to ground moved the back motor. Pin 4 to ground moved the bottom motor. However, moving pin 1 to 2 and 3 to ground didn’t change the direction. Any suggestions?
My client ended up pinching his cord in the chair to the point of exposed wires. I changed the power supply, and the transformer has power. The remote has power, but the chair does nothing. So maybe Ill try this to see if it works. Unless you have any other suggestions or know what might have happened
My recliner has control buttons located on the armrest cup holder. The led lighting, USB, and headrest control works but the recliner button does not. Is it a to/from connection to the button in the armrest?
I was able to jump it and the motor works. I purchased a new switch and it didn’t work. I figured that maybe the new switch was bad so I ordered another but again, no go. What do you think is going on?
Hey do you think you could help me find where some wires go on our chair. They fell out when we moved it. It looks like it’s from a motor like the one in this video
So I pulled Okin lift chair motor out... I put wires in like described. Not get getting anything. It does have solid power. Unless I'm doing it wrong... Thoughts... What are you ground it to. The video doesn't show clearly...
You should already have a battery back up in the power supply. It’s usually on the side with a couple of 9 V batteries you could wire a battery power supply into the side of the power supply without any difficulty.
Hello Survivor I am making a diy router table with a drill & I don't have a slid rail. I just have this recliner deal I snatched off a sofa in the boonies to flip. Never did flip so I will be using the to rais the drill as is my router do trim custom crown trim. I was thinking maybe splice cable to a DC v 12 /9 really ill just be lowering it few times to change out bits. Thank u for video Happy 2022
Tried this at first it was working and then I think I did something wrong and there was a spark and then it no longer worked do I need to replace the motor now?
Hi. I have an Okin JLDQ - 1A actuator. I can test the motor is OK and I know the switch is working buy something it preventing the motor from working. Power is getting to the actuator board but I am stumped after that and your 5 din connector video works differently to my model actuator. If it was OK with your I'd ask for advice. I created a document that explains everything with images. Anyway if you can PM me I would be grateful. Thanks.
This is written as if all recliners use that configuration and everyone has as wiring schematic. If you have the wiring schematic any first year electrical student can run a jumper. Now as yourself how many pieces of power furniture come with a wiring schematic. Sorry but pretty much a useless video which assumes everyone has the same equipment and a wiring schematic as well.

Hi Saul, this video helped me with my issue. Thanks.
Ok I got it to open, which i actually wanted to keep it closed. So now how do we reverse this role?

Where did the purple wires come from?
Any small wire will do. A metal paper clip (with no fancy coating) will work just as well if you have no wires.
