Thank you for sharing this information. We now have an possible answer to our problem. As u mentioned this problem does not show up on mechanics computer system. We have booked ours in to get it checked 😊

If your having similar problems but it’s not the egr valve it’s either the scv, turbo solinoid, fuel filter usually the suction control valve causes it to cut out also
My D40 is sluggish in uphill, but runs good on plain surface. Haven't tried blocking the EGR, yet. Just sharing.

Same symptom good on low gear black smokes comes out . i cleaned the turbo change turbo boost solenoid and nothing change so i have to try this
Just bought one of these and the EGR has been removed and there is just a plate there. I have barely any power in 1st. Any ideas? Can I replace the EGR?

Hows it man. Are EGR, PCV,SCV relative to their engines around the world, or do d22 have EGR and PCV/SCV? vavles trying locate thr PCV valve on a d22 or EGR not sure thanks man
Hello Master, I've got the same problem with my navara d40, initially no power it very slow but turbocharger gone bad and I should have it replaced with a brand new one Evoron, but the car doesn't accelerate as before, it's like the turbo works only from 2.2 to 3k rpm and also sometimes it cuts off right after I turn the key, not sure if that is related to the new turbocharger but it began to happen right after I had it replaced, no one mechanic can say why is this why the car doesn't eccelerate properly.

Block EGR like the video and see if its good. Or check all your vacuum line for holes or split. And make sure there is plenty of vacuum from the source. I have seen the vacuum hose blocked with sand and mud. Also check the correct routing of vacuum at the turbo control solenoid. Send me your email and I will text you the picture of that.

Nope. Autos have dpf (usually) and if you block the egr you’ll eventually destroy your dpf which will be an expensive fix.

We have a 2008 d40 auto exactly the same no power revs but very slow moving it has egr delete we just checked nothing comes up on scan tool we’ve changed. Turbo ,all hoses , accelerator pedal , gear box any ideas
Could be a lot of things. Best to seek professionals.
Hi, there is one thing i don’t understand and I could’t find the info. I just want to understand why, if the egr stays open (or close), it causes some problem with the power. Every body talking about egr says « it returns exhaust gaz » « look, it’s dirty » « it can causes problem with power » but not why…
Stuck close will not cause power issue. But stuck open can cause power issue, rough idle or no start some cases. It's cause egr gas doesn't have as much oxygen to help with combustion.
Would have been better if you didn't strap the camera to your head. I was starting to get dizzy watching it.
So if the motor has all the power back with the egr blocked, what do you do from there?

I see. Okay, maybe I can try it. My symptom is almost similar to this, but it's a bit different.
The car starts fine, drive very good within 1000rpm until 3000rpm, but then it begin to lost the power at around 3500rpm. No matter how hard I step on the pedal, it can't go beyond. At second gear, it only manage to go around 4500rpm but that's about it (1st gear can go 5500rpm limit). I'm also losing some oil and sometimes my low oil warning come up (just refill last month) but when I check engine oil it's still at high, no leaking.

@@reiannaidoo Well, surprisingly, I just rev the car for 2 minutes (in pulses, by the way) when the car is parked. Saw quite a lot of smoke from the exhaust. Revving up the engine might clear some gunk. The loss of power still happens from time to time, but revving up engine when parked is a quick fix. A more better solution is to go for Diesel Engine Treatment. This really clear all the soots that build up but a bit expensive.

just tried with the plate . didn't work 😢. Nissan Navara D40 2012.
came up p0089 fuel pump code . this is the story, when you start her up takes 2-3 seconds to start (slow start) and the you put D gear , it will start accelerating very slowly even you depressed the padel all the way down( takes about 4-5 seconds to get the 1st gear speed) and then the car will be run as a normal car . i mean drive 0 to 100 in highway as usual. problem is gone!
every time you start her up first thing it will be like this. any suggestions?

P0089 is due to suction control valve issue. Needs to be replaced every 60-80000 km.

Hey bro, I have 2012 d40 140kw spanish made. Mine loses power while driving normally and also on the highway, it feels like it goes on limp mode but with no engine light on the dash. The only way to counter it is when I switch it off and back on again.
Try checking exhaust temperature sensor on scan tool.
Make sure the value doesn't drop to 0.
Will my engine light come on if I blank my egr?

My d22 2012 yd25 having rough idling like a mistubishi FH and having problem to rev @ 1000rpm but after that 1300rpm it's doing fine

I have a swift diesel 2012 model almost 90k run n well timely maintained car which runs butter smooth n in love driving ,,,yesterday i Went to ooty hill station with 3 people n weather was cold ,, while I was started the hill climb in the morning with lot of hairpin curves, after driving with using only 2nd gear while climbing for 12km uphill ,, at one point with uphill traffic stopped n when I hit the 1st gear, there was no acceleration wen pressed hard, car was not at all moving!!! I was literally shaken wat to do n then some how made it barely move it with less acceleration n took u turn n came back downhill :( wat do u think the issue is,, I started my journey back to bangalore on NHighway ,, it was all normal,, wondering wat to do if I again to hill station!?

Sure you can, however it's not legal but some people leave it permanently blank too.

Change EGR valve. Usually the metal valve snaps in half.

I ve D40 YD25 2007 I experience different revs while driving ,one moment it will drive smoothly with engine very quite and ve lots of power both in low levele and uphill and one engine sound rough and usually it doesn't very power especially driving uphill and only drive better at low level terrain.It has no fault code and this problem is on and off.Any ideas ?
Watch live data for rail pressure when it's playing up may be.

You can use the gasket as a template for the blanking plate. Easier.

What are the symptoms if these e.g.r valves fail?.
My machine all of a sudden belches out a white hazey smoke which is really hard on eyes and smells terrible but no water is in oil or coolant.
Machine is hard to start and idle only for 2 minutes then cuts out.
No fault codes show.
Vehicle is 2012 Spanish built Nissan Navara D40 St-X Diesel at 164.000 k.m

Honestly I do not know. Diagnosis is a skill that doesn't have a A-z guide book. You deal with it when it comes. But please let us know what you find
Hello, I just bought a 2010 D40 Spanish build, No Dpf filter. Is it only the Thai built that have the EGR, want to know so if I experience issues down the track, I can blank off the EGR.

All diesel should have EGR.
Hello there. I have almost the same issue with my nissan navarra. At start, engine loses power, but when we pump the fuel priming pump, then power comes back after. So our scenario is after a few minutes of run, we stop and pump. What could possibly be wrong? TY
That question doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Air in diesel, look for a diesel leak if diesel is coming out air can get in. Could be a leak on the pump in the tank if you can't see anything. Good luck.
There is air leak on the pipes ,if your Navara has two diesel filters start to check from there tighten all the pipes from tank to filter and from filter to 2nd filter tighten both as well check the mouth or opening edges of the pipes if there are cracks if so cut off that section fit it and tighten once done prime and test it again,it should resolve the air suction into the fuel system.

Mine does exactly the same thing...once you shut it off and then start it up again it's fine.
Happens every 6 months or so......usually on the highway which is not good.
That could be mine too. Getting really, really hard to drive.
Always learn to wear a sit belt...

Not that I have seen causing damages to engine component. But it's definitely not good for the environment. Also modern vehicles has monitors that can detect that and can throw engine light or even put in limp home mode.

I made an egr blank plate, and drilled a 4mm hole in the middle of it to allow a bit of air flow through to avoid engine check light issue. Has worked great for me. (Was recommended to me by a mechanic I know)
