This is a short demo clip from the original 7 Hour, 15 Minute DVD by Morgan Weistling. It contains two (2) demonstrations of painting portraits from life, using different approaches for each, and and additional section showing Morgan's critiques of his students in one of his rare workshops. Morgan felt that the information provided in his critiques was as educational to the student as the demonstration paintings. Please note that the critique portion was filmed by someone other than Liliedahl Video.
I found this clip to be totally inspirational and, at the same time, informative. I want to know more about this very gifted artist's teaching.
What a great artist! I 'discovered' him yesterday and he become one of my favorite!
This is just kind of painting technique I would like to learn! Unbelievable color mixing and catching motion within one brush stroke!
Do you know where can I find his color palette and advice for painting?
AMAZING ARTIST! Love your work Morgan !
este para mim, é o artista que me inspira pois me identifico muito com seu estilo, ele é o melhor que já vi, suas pinturas não são apenas perfeitas, elas tem vida. Morgan, o melhor!!!
Unfortunately, the raw video of all DVDs that are filmed at the artist's studio have to be edited significantly, as the length of the filmed paintings are generally at least twice the length of the finished DVD; however, we do our best to remove only repetitious passages and try NOT edit out things of importance to the viewer.
Apologies. The quality of the actual DVD is perfect.
Maybe it is, but the quality of the video downloads that you sell is definitely not perfect. I downloaded one recently (Max Ginsburg) and the quality was almost as bad as this trailer... and it cost me over $100. You really need to either (a) improve the quality of the downloads (should be 1080p) or (b) make it clear to customers that the quality is not as good as the DVD. I would be happy to buy more from you if I could be confident in the quality. Also, I think you need to improve the quality of filming these artists. Most of the film should be close-up on the painting, the brush and the palette. Yet far too much of the footage is wide-angle shots of the artist, the model, the studio etc. Wide-angle shots are useless for teaching. Finally, your prices are ridiculous.
Purchase Liliedahl videos through Paint tube. I got the Cesar Santos and Scott Tallman Powers, it's perfect quality.
what mark oil use he? excuse
@fparking Weistling's videos aren't for the beginning artist. If what you're looking for is someone who will take you step by step and show you how to match the values and colors you are seeing, you'll need to look elsewhere. Weistling does this intuitively after having done so many thousands of times, and he admits that for him to explain what he is doing to come up with a mixture just isn't possible any more.
The last model looks like a cross between sansa stark and Natalie portman
For someone who illustrates movie posters, you think he could at least loan a decent camera. This 240pixel has less resolution than my mothers 1929 Brownie. And you want money for lessons? Haha-no way.
Love the work but the quality of this video is terrible!
Интересно, кто рисовал портреты? тот кто трепится, кому показали пару и сказали замазать пару пятнышек?) при том если он неправильно их запачкает, художник за кадром это исправит?)) для чего эти клипы,- не о чем?
