In a football world where Australian managers are looked down upon and considered not good enough to manage in Europe, Ange has done a marvellous job at Celtic. Yet history now beckons him to be the first Australian manager to represent in the EPL. Give the man your best wishes and remember where Celtic were before he graced this wonderful club.

never thought i would say this, bring Brendan Rogers back, As a man i criticized him for what he did last time at the club, As a coach I could not fault him, and the players that are at Celtic just now, are a lot better quality than what he had as a coach, I think he would improve them just as much as Ange would, cheers for the good times Ange and good luck in the future🙂

One of my concerns is that if we went for a manager such as Moyes (not that he'd leave West Ham for us) or someone of that ilk. It'd be a total departure from Ange's style of play.
So if it's a "I like my fullbacks hitting the byeline and getting in crosses..." type of manager, well that's Greg Taylor rendered useless! Ange spent 4 transfer windows bringing his style of player and shipping out guys who don't fit his style.... Going for a completely different style of manager now would mean that we'll have another huge turnover of players.
If Brendan Rodgers hadn't done the dirty on us in 2019, then he'd be an absolute shoe-in for the job. He has a similar playing philosophy to Ange so most of the current squad would suit his style. We wouldn't need to ship out/ship in dozens of players. 2-3 quality signings and we'd be good to go.

Ange has done miracles at Celtic
I’m gutted if he leaves but look at as his opportunity as a manager
He’s got one chance at Spurs
    Like Eminen
If he fails then he fails but he gave it his best shot
He will never feel like he did at Celtic HH

Agree Anthony. He rooted out the debris, bought players in from a brilliant market from Japan (is going to make at least 50 million with eventual sales of Kyogo and Hatate, allowing real funds for four or five additional players, which we need if we're to improve in Europe. He restructured the playing style in a highly innovative way, creating a great "ride" for us all over two years. Seen off a european finalist manager, and destroyed Beale in all of the games that mattered. Left a team in brilliant sporting health, with some top assets. Not to forget his introduction of the most modern way of playing with inverted full backs and goals & performances galore. This is a team that has had an attaking, front foot, excessive pressing, ingrained by habit into the players! They only need a minimum of four quality players ( and the club certainly has the money) Striker, established creative midfield player, winger to compliment Jota, and a a powerful and pacey defender for Europe, then we have a chance to qualify from the GS. This is a fantastic gig for the incoming manager of choice; thanks to Ange.

He's also left us with a squad that is highly specialised for his system, the several of which arrived in January off the strength of his reputation in Asia.
Every Celtic fan treated him like a surrogate father. He's quoted our all time greats in a recent cup speech, spoke of building a legacy & yet he's fucked off at the first opportunity to a shambles of a club like spurs who don't offer prestige but have the riches of the EPL & an incredible platform to jump off.
Ange was incredible for us & I adored him but he's not the man of integrity we believed. So I'm done giving my heart to managers. They're getting paid to do a job and that's it.

How often do assistants make for good managers?
John Kennedy is a highly regarded coach Neil Lennon (twice) Rony Delia, Rodgers & Ange all worked with him and all rate him. So why on earth would we even contemplate John Kennedy moving out of that role? If it aint broke don't fix it.
We're looking for a new 1st team coach, let's not add "Looking for a new assistant" to the list.

Isn't that the case with every manager though?
I think Rodgers would likely come in and do a good job for two seasons and then leave for the West Ham job or something, which is pretty much what Ange has done and it's pretty much what [insert name] will do if they're given the job. That's just the way football has gone now sadly.
The only way it wouldn't pan out like that would be if the new manager was a disaster and didn't last 2 seasons.

get Rodgers back would be a seamless transition. Don't blame Brendan for his European record...that's just a reality of the economy of the times... the disparity between what the board are prepared to pay for players and what English and European clubs are prepared to pay for players. As for being an attractive proposition...any manager who knows Celtic will know they won't break the bank to strengthen the squad. We didn't strengthen it one bit last summer. Spent all the money on 2 loan players we already had...Mooy on a free was a dud, only played 2 months of decent football and now broken...and Bernabei who any incoming manager will see out the door shortly after arriving. Siegrist never played.
