Idgaf what color they are. I don’t need anime characters to share the same skin tone than me or be darker than me. If they do cool, if they don’t cool. Most people/characters fictional/real don’t look like me. I don’t get bent out of shape over it. My mental constitution is not made of soap bubbles. Representation is important. If you tare taking influence from other cultures that include POC its important to respect it. As a Mexican, the skin color of fictional characters is a non-issue. Something that I see a lot of people fail to realize is that America is a bit of an anomaly, most people world wide grow up in communities of 99% to 100% of the same race. So realistically speaking, it is more than fair to logically assume that a country of asian people with generally lighter skin tone would primarily create anime characters like themselves. Even if Natlan is inspired by LATAM and Africa, it is not a real country and those are not real people. Hence again the keyword "inspired". This is not a depiction of those countries. If they straight up said that it was Mexico or Africa and all the characters had skin as white as snow, then I could see an issue. But that's not the case
they do use names which are directly from the other culturers (eg. olorun is the name of a diety in West Africa), so I understand why so many people are mad. It’s like they are taking the culture as inspiration but won’t actually represent the people from those regions. I also find it strange how the npcs have more of the cultural and ethnic features but rarely the playable characters do
As an Indian, I'd raise an eyebrow if every single character in Snezhnaya was dark, but given the history of racism against dark people, this is doubly offensive.

Because changing a "product" in this case Neuvillete, as in making it different from what the company advertised can get very serious for the company, on the other hand, the skin color is a matter of taste and Hoyoverse know the people complaining wont stop playing just because of it.
It is unlikely that we would get any darker skinned characters cause Hoyo serves their CN players first and it’s hard to sell them darker skinned characters.

I do it with my nomal mouse sensitivity and in-game camera speed... and its not even a very high dpi.
