I find this song very relatable, as someone who was frequent panic attacks and mental breakdowns, I find the lyrics "What the hells going on, can someone tell me please, why am I switching faster than channels on the tv, I'm black than I'm white, NO! something isn't right! my enemy's invisible I don't know how to fight." and "The clock stopped ticking forever ago, how long have I been up, I don't know, i cant get a grip but i cant let go, there wasn't anything to hold onto though" to capture the feeling of a mental breakdown perfectly. thank you crusher for this masterpiece.

Well, what can I say, this song was the very first one on my journey through vocaloid... Back then it just felt like a very vibe song (which it's still is🔥🔥🎶🎶) but recently I decided to listen up to those lyrics and was pretty shocked to see how much of a resemblance my life has to them. Honestly, i never really thought of that song's lyrics' meaning before. Like, it was just an AMAZING song that technically even grew up with me (sad I wasn't able to congratulate y'all on 100 mil and 10 yr ANNIVERSARY🎉🎉 in time, but if someone would be reading this, YAAAAAAAYYYYY IM SO HAPPY FOR THIS SONG'S FANDOM AND FOR ITS CREATOR, CRUSHER. IM EVER GRATEFUL TO HAVE IT IN MY LIFE AND FOR IT'S FANDOM AND AUTHOR TO SUPPORTING THIS SONG! HOORAY 🎉!!). And there I just wanted to share what feelings from this song I know way too well, I know that it'll be different for us, it has different meaning for Crusher and several other people, but if someone find those relatable... Idk I ain't no one to decide there lol. So anyways, here's my 'interpretation' thingy:
"The clock stopped ticking forever ago, how long have I been up? Idk" I refer this to my constant, sometimes weaker and sometimes severe depression. The period I've had it for even I can't remember, but it feels like eternity, like it's the only thing that never changed, like 'the clock stopped ticking forever ago'... I also had (and still have) a insomnia periods, sometimes week without sleeping, and sometimes a quiet month with sleep, usually it is because of my depression driving me to tears and me not being able to sleep peacefully afterwards... btw I'm writing this during one of those, so yeah...(( Sometimes during those I just wonder just for 'how long have I been up?' and usually 'idk' because I can't call this 'awake' but also can't call it 'asleep' and having this state constantly is... It hurts, it just really hurts and I hate it, but can't really do anything about it, even when I get full sleep I still feel like I'm not 'awake' and after I slept I can't confirm that I felt 'asleep' those moments... **Sigh**
Well, I'll move on, "I can't get a grip but I can't let go. There wasn't anything to hold on to tho" those words are the most accurate representation of my struggle with... Not ending it all but not being 'alive' either... 'I can't get a grip' for me is that I can't get a grip on life, every time I get into my depression I want to die. I even tried... But I also 'Can't let go' of it, simply because my friends and parents wouldn't be able to hold that the one they held dear, who they were one 'How are you?' away from saving has met his end. 'There wasn't anything to hold on to tho' refers to, as I said, I never really felt being 'alive' in this world for as long as I know, but I'm surely not 'dead' even when sometimes I'm very close to the edge.
'Why can't I see all the colors that you see? Please can I be colorful and free?" I refer this to how I think of my friends and family who, even though they have the problems of their own, still can enjoy being 'alive' and thrive in this world even when circumstances are not in favor for them. And I... I genuinely try to mimic it, I try to appear like a happy, colorful person while in reality, alone I'm just a emotionless, depressed, monochrome one... This acting taked up a bunch of energy and my mental capacity to keep up, but sometimes, when I can't keep up with it anymore, my 'inner' self gets out which results in a mental breakdown... It is rough, but after it the loop I'm stuck in just resets and then I just wait till my mental capacity gets broken again.
'Why I'm switching faster than the channels on tv? I'm black then I'm white. No! Something is not right.' for me, it refers to that 'loop' I'm in, that loop of hope and agony, genuineness and despair... That loop resets way too often, usually I can't even do anything it to save my friends and other people from the 'outbreak' of my inner self, and even during the times when it's roughly stable, my inner emotions and feelings can affect my outer words, acts and so on. I'm just very fvcking tired of this loop. I want it to end. I have to get it to end. But I just can't... And it hurts... A lot.
'My enemy's invisible I don't know how to fight. The trembling fear is more than i can take when I'm up against the echo in the mirror' is exactly how my 'outer' self fights my 'inner' self and after countless of those battles, I no longer have a sense of my *real* self...
The sound effects after this part is exactly how my loop of depression feels like... Dark, chaotic, with a blinks of hope that get quickly swallowed up...
'I'm gonna burn my house down into an ugly black, I wanna run away now, and never look back' this how the feeling of need to change feels, I usually get it before and after I attempt to end it all forever, and depending on which moment I got it on, it's either a relief that I didn't do a mistake of taking my life or regret for continuing living in this world, with all my problems and both my 'selves'... It's scary, but relieving at same time... I hate it, but sometimes it's my last resort...
Then the song just repeats the first part which for me means a reset on the 'loop', that everything is starting over and I can't do anything about it... It's sickening when I think about it...
Well, and there song ends. Hope whoever read this big essay enjoyed it and maybe will even reimagine this song for themselves. Until then, see ya

This song was the first vocaloid song I listened to after an abusive situation kept me away from vocaloid. Vocaloid was one of the most stable and happy things in my life, and it feels so freeing and empowering to finally be able to come back to such a treasured thing after so long. This community is toxic asf but I love it here.
