Matt and Trey have absolutely invaluable lawyers. They (Trey and Matt) think of ways round doing something like calling OJ "a murdered", or "Tom Cruise being in a closet" (being in a literal closet or literally packing fudge in a fudge factory) and then double-check it with their lawyers to make sure they're not doing anything involving libel (or maybe slander too since it's written and spoken) that they can be sued for - especially by Scientology's vultures.

Stone: I can tell you exactly who we were wrong about - Gary Condit. We did a Gary Condit joke where we just said: “You know you killed your intern. You know you’re guilty.” When someone is arrested for something or pointed at for doing something, our brains go guilty until proven innocent, you know?

Interesting fact, In a 2011 interview, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone stated that they regretted how Condit and the Ramseys were portrayed in the episode. A bit of trivia: The scene where Stephen Stotch is alone with Butters attempting to explain away his homosexual discrepancies is a recreation of the reoccurring scene in Morel Orel where Orel's father, Clay, attempts to teach his son a lesson. Even recreating the wardrobe, lighting and fireplace as well. And similar to Stephen Stotch, Clay is a horrible, horrible human being and highly abusive.
