This was great! Thanks for taking us behind the scenes!!! Jealous bro!!!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the tour!
I’ve been going to Magic Mountain since 1984 and I have not seen such a cool video of backstage stuff before. Thank you.
You're very welcome! Happy you enjoyed it.
Did anyone else catch what seems to be sparks at 41:32? It looks like the train contacted the LSM fin
I noticed when editing! Crazy! Was waiting for someone to comment about it. Sparks on the way up AND back.
@AmericasCoasterNetwork first thing I noticed.
Doubt that's good more likely damaged it and will need repair.
Same spot each time
Probably the cause of the rollback. Impact slowing the train down
I saw that too
Thank you so much for joining us and documenting this epic event. Great video! I was on board the first rollback. That was so incredibly cool. First time ever that I’ve experienced a rollback personally.
You're very welcome! I'm very thankful to be invited. So happy I was able to capture you and others on that rollback. Now you have proof! Haha! Hope to see you and others very soon at upcoming events!
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork ha! I appreciate you! Hope to see you soon.
Epic event😂😂😂😂
Cool to see Darien, he's a good guy. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Also during the second time around, if you look at the track before the loop, there was a spark ⚡️ on the bottom of the track! I watched it 10 times to make sure
Yep! I didn't notice until I was editing. Was surprised to see.
41:39 the sparks as it hits the launch motors after it rolls back……insane
When I say you are awesome!!! It was sooo great being around you and your amazing spirit! I was the one on the rollback that said “Did you record it this time”!? Those two rollbacks were ridiculous! I hope to see you in Texas!!!!? 🎉🎉
Thank you very much for the kind words. Your group was so fun to be a part of. And I'm making Texas happen!! See you there!!
@@AmericasCoasterNetworkohhh I’m definitely going!!!!!
WE HAD A GREAT TIME! CANT WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!
I’m glad I came across this video. Hopefully I’ll be joining you guys in the future. 🙏🏾
Also can't wait! It was a blast!
@ yess!! Join us!
How does one join I love six flags and this is amazing 😊
I put a link to MCN in the description. 😀
Excellent event and coverage!!!
Thank you very much! I had so much fun. And so many firsts with the tour and the rollbacks. Wishing I could have been on one of them. But then I wouldn't have the footage.
Love this! It was great to meet you, thanks for hanging out (and waiting in line for Goliath) with us
Thanks! Nice meeting you guys too! And it was nice to have someone to chat with in line. 😃
Awesome videos thank you for this I’ve been looking for behind the scenes videos of the park or hard hat tours they don’t have many of these
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. ☺️
Great video. Great collab with MCN... Gotta do another one
Thanks. Yeah, I hope to make it to more MCN events. Fiesta Texas is tempting!
Dude, that was AWESOME!! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
Wow! What a cool video, actually a lot of the questions I had were asked! Wish I could have been part of that! And the roll backs were epic! Thanks you for making it a long video! Love the Mountain!!
Happy you enjoyed the long video. I usually tend to shy away from anything more than 20 mins. But I didn't wanna edit out any of the backstage employees giving information.
@ Yea, that older guy, John I think it was that did most of the talking? He seems like he’d be cool to run into at his local watering hole and have a couple beers and talk coasters with hahahahaha
Great video man! Thanks! I had so many questions!
Happy you enjoyed it!
Huh, so Goliath uses B&M parts? Pretty cool, never really knew that. Then again, Goliath does share some similarities to B&M (namely the track design).
33:20 So glad you said it! Hate his answer though. C'mon find a way, it can't be so hard.
Thanks! Yeah, they could figure something out for sure.
Wow! Great Video!
Thanks!
Really cool to see behind the scenes - great video. Went last week for the first time in over a year and thought the park was running a bit better than previously - more 2 trains, more staff, less morose dicks staffing the rides, etc. Still a ways to go, but hopefully it keeps getting better.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. And even for me it was pretty impressive hearing the numbers of trains they have in the park and how many they work on every year. I also loved the passion of the gentleman who spoke. People give park maintenance a lot of crap. I don't think those people realize how much work maintenance has. My hat goes off to them.
This is dope!
I always wanted to experience a rollback but on Kinda ka, it was a nice video
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. A rollback on Ka would have been awesome! But I bet the one on Full Throttle was pretty crazy with riders being almost upside down when it started to roll back.
Saving this video for when I have to build backstage areas in Planet Coaster lol. This is sick.
Also, I hope you informed them of my Petition to work with S&S x RMC to convert Goliath and Superman into a pneumatic-launched strata T-REX.
Glad I could help. And I didn't inform them of that. Lol.
W vid like always❤❤❤❤❤❤
Much appreciated! ☺️
@ I can’t believe that you travel so much, so lucky 🍀
Well, SFMM is local. But I'll be traveling a bit this year.
Great rollback on the worlds second fastest accelerating coaster only behind stealth at Thorpe park
You're thinking of Maxx Force
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork oh yeah my bad the trwck looked similar and so did the trains
So cool thank you for sharing this
You're welcome!
Best video to this day Chris! I wish someone could of asked is it’s possible to remove the comfort collars on West Coast Racers 😂
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! OMG I hate those comfort collars!! Somehow they are worse now than when the coaster first opened.
Pretty cool video. I worked backstage there in 1991 in the cash room. I could tell some stories.
Thanks! And I bet you could!
Awesome video! Cool that they were so transparent with a lot of the preventative maintenance they do. Also Full Throttle rollbacks… uhh that LSM sparking?! Oof.
Thanks. Yeah, they provided more information than I expected. And that sparking.... Yeah. Crazy. I didn't notice until editing the video. I heard the ride was closed the following day. But back open the next. So whatever it was, it wasn't a big issue.
Take Me With You ❤
This coaster of there’s needs to be much longer!
Where after the hill on top of the loop, it will have these inversions and elements.
They are
A Big Double Downward Helix or Carousel Turn to the right, That goes over the buildings that contain High Octane Wings, Live Life Gear and Loaded Dogs.
Top portion is a little over banked.
A huge 720 Zero-G Roll.
A Big Double Upward Helix to the left.
Top portion is also a little over banked.
Then a Custom Inversion. That uses a Dive Loop, a Right Turning Overbanked Curve, a Zero-G Roll, a Left Turning Over Banked Turn, and a Immelmann loop.
I call the Interlocking Norwegian Loop.
A Right Angled Loop.
Finally a Immelmann Loop into the Break Run.
Yeah, I wish Full Throttle was a bit longer so it wouldn't stack every time. There's no way they are able to dispatch in time before the train ahead is back on the final brakes.
Yep one of the LSM launch motors has gone out, or something, hopefully they replace that fin (or whatever it is) because the Spark is no good, no wonder it rolled back. Hopefully Viper is the next to get a complete repaint.
Agreed about Viper!
Dorian needs to visit and watch Disneyland coaster operators. They are the true load and go masters. Magic Mountain has the slowest dispatching I’ve ever seen in my life. No urgency. They had Goliath running 3 trains but had 2 trains waiting to enter the station at all times. We shouldn’t be waiting to enter the station to unload longer than the actual ride.
You're not wrong. But you also get what you pay for.
The last rollback, you'll notice one of the LSMs towards the end of the straight track is malfunctioning and sparking in BOTH directions... 😮
I didn't see that until editing. Pretty crazy. But the ride reopened two days later. So I'm guessing it was minor.
If you can talk to someone please tell them to bring the audio back on X2 it really needs it and then we'll be so complete again i miss the audio
Right? I miss the audio too. But I'm wondering if it was a licensing reason. Feels like it went away around 2018. Which would be 10 years since it reopened as X2 with audio. And the park didn't wanna renew.
Have you thought about doing an ACN meetup?
I have. A few, like yourself, have asked over the years. But I never thought there'd be enough interest to have anything substantial. Perhaps I'll look into it. Thanks. 😃
17:05 i have seen a phone drop from full throttle before
This was a great video does anyone know what is happening with superman!?!?
29:28
@ Thank you
I always figured goliaths trains are their bullet trains because in 2005,2006, and 2007 they would stay open in November or December til 1am and no matter how cold or misty it was goliath never had troubles making it back to the station
And the ride is still as smooth and quiet as day one! Goliath gets a lot of crap for being a lesser hyper. Blah blah blah. But it's still one heck of a ride. And knowing this info about it makes me like it even more. To all those who want RMC to change it. Nah. I'll keep it as is.
Dorian is my boy my sister and I love him like a brother
Revolution needs to nix the trim breaks!
I love how they lit up the coaster murals by Viper. Nice, classy touch. Is the new MM sign by the freeway lit up at night?
The sign didn't get its covers until Monday. I don't know if it's lit up yet. I know they still have some work to do.
If you know how too can you make a hoodie and some T-shirts. I would love to be wearing a ACN hoodie around in public
I've thought about merch. But need a more interesting logo first. And never thought anyone would care to have any. Thanks. Good to know.
@ ok, your welcome🤗
Any questions on Superman?
They just said it's been problematic and they are working on it. But I'm getting a feeling that it isn't gonna reopen.
Can anyone do this backstage tour?
Edit: That's good news about Superman if it's only in rehab that means it's probably not going to be shut down 👍🏽
The tour is set up specially for the coaster club event. So can't be done by just anyone. And I'm still not very confident about Superman reopening because the maintains guys can't say anything before a closure is announced.
@AmericasCoasterNetwork oh ok , I wish I was part of that club. I hope for Superman, fingers crossed, it will reopen by summer or spring break 🤞🏾
You missed the opportunity to ask about Viper
Perhaps. But, like with Superman, they can't say anything. With that, I wish I had asked about Sky Tower. I'm sure with that they could be a little looser with their answer.
You know?
What?
I counted 50 times between minutes 5:53 and 13:30. I appreciate the knowledge. Just an observation.
America's coaster network make more updates knott's berry farm
I'll get back there soon. I know it's been a while.
Hope to see a universal update soon! Heard more work might be done after the rain storms. So around Sunday, Monday. Might really shock you with all the work done 😂
@AmericasCoasterNetwork ok
Remove the Trim Brakes before The Loop, and after The Tunnel, and add One More Train to Rev!! Allow those Trains to travel like they used to back in 1976!! Hope everyone enjoyed their ride on Half Throttle!!🤣🎢
I wish!! But, at the same time, I'm sure the trims have helped preserve the condition of the track over all these years.
