So we have John's [MR example] "Inception", where the Main Character gets into other peoples' dreams for information [to manipulate their future decisions]. The characters are using their minds to create the whole world in the dream and control it."
    12:13 John
“I remember, in the last part of the movie the whole world, in the main character's subconscious; the whole world is collapsing." 12:27
What John just said, for those of you taking notes, is, in the final scene where we're in the Protagonist's subconscious and that whole world, his whole world in his subconscious, is collapsing. And it's a very physical representation of this MR. For him, in his mind, that world exists. For him, in his mind, that world is suddenly collapsing. 12:57
Awesome John, very well done! [11:55]
    13:08
Anyone else like this movie for other reasons?
    Michael what do you think?
    13:27
I like this movie, I like the technology - looks so cool. People can use technology to go into other's dreams.
OK, so you like it because of the technology, which is also an aspect of MR. [IS IT REALLY] I think so, when you have Sci-Fi Ray Bradbury, and his MR Worlds?
    13:41
Is there an actual drug that we can take and then enter into other people's dreams? Is that something that's technologically possible? That's how they entered other peoples' dreams? They would wait until they were in the Dream State and then they would use technology to get into their dreams to try to manipulate them; to try to change their ideas.

Doris' Le Petit Prince; elements of Planet of Gold, Limitless Dires, World of Gold and Greedy Nature and Desires
    14:28
    Doris
In this movie, The Little Prince went on a planet, where there is full of golden treasure but we all know it is impossible to have a planet full of gold. The author writes this to symbolize how Humans have Greedy [Natures] Needs. They're desiring for the gold, and that sort of can make them happy but, that's all they have and they have nothing else.
    14:59
    Excellent
So the SYMBOLS were Limitless Desire and Greedy Nature
    Excellent.
    The Black Swan -
Anyone see The Black Swan [movie]? Anyone read A 1,000 Years of Solitude?
    about 6 generations...

    Turning to your books -
    15:45
    Julio Cortazar
Flipped Classroom; not only had they dissected this quote a day earlier, they were to have read the short story for HR.
“Creo que no te quiero, que solamente quiero la imposibilidad tan obvia de quererte como la mano izquierda enamorada de ese guante que vive en la derecha.”
    Alan 15:― Julio Cortázar
"I believe that I don't love you, that I only love the more obvious impossibility of loving you like the left glove loves the right hand."
    16:36
Why did I give you this Quote of the Day? What does this have to do with MR?
    INTERPRETATIONS of QoD
    17:04
Fan - The impossibility of loving you is Magical Realism
Why Study a QoD from author? What are we trying to understand
    Symbolism
Fiona - to understand his background and his family...
Abby - learn what is his writing skill and writing style, so we need to know better about him 18:01
to understand better their life, their family, their motivations.
Pair-Share OR Turn and Talk 18:32
While I listen in and gather ideas -
The left hand glove, just might fit the left hand
    PLUS
Very particular situation - the left glove MIGHT fit the right hand.
I don't quite understand "the impossibility of love?"
OK, so discuss that. What could it possibly mean?
Kinda give us a distance and you the people, you actually don't love.
    19:34 - Is that a contradiction; I love you, but I can't love you?
Write that up there right now, please.
Luke at the White Board -
    19:55
Doris, I think Julio loves the impossibility of pursuing the love more than he loves love itself.
    21:07 -
    Alan and Alex -
We think that the author really doesn't love this person. He only loves the way of NOT being able to love her. 21:41
He loves the feeling that he will NEVER love her.
So it is a contradiction -
Key Words - Contradictions - as we look through this story - The quote ties the man together with the Themes within Short Story
22:46 Luke at the White Board -" impossibility of loving you," conveys the vague connotation, "I do love you, but I can't love you.'
23:04 - VISUAL left-handed glove to support what Pan said last week; It's impossible for that left-handed glove to love the right hand....or IS IT?
23:18 Plus - contradiction - the previous week, Plus brought up the possibility of putting glove on opposite hand. So, the right hand can love the left-handed glove as much as the left hand loved the glove...or something like that?
Still, CLOSELY READING this quote, what comes to mind?
    24:08
    Symbols
    Door was our symbol, yesterday.
