I had no idea shaking was kind of a good thing when planking..I thought it simply meant I was THAT weak/out of shape. 😅 Thanks!
Nope shaking is awesome 😊
Same that’s what I thought
I felt the same. Shaking means it's working 😁
I thought the same too!
My abdominal area was shaking after ten seconds and thought I must be really out of shape😂
Same here. I start to shake after 20 sec 😂
Doctor: You have one minute to live
* Me starts Planking*
Doctor: What are you doing?
Me: Making this minute feel like a lifetime...
lmfao
Great.
Thank you lol
🤣🤣🤣👍🏾
😄
I have never been told or realized that you’re supposed to push back your heels while planking. Not one trainer has told me this! Very helpful thank you!
Big thanks for the tip on the heels. Truly felt my core engaged and I could keep my heels together, instead of shoulder length apart. Plus shoulders/elbows were less fatigued
YAY! So glad it helps! Often it's those little tweaks that help us better engage muscles and become more efficient with the movements!
The regular plank is hard enough for me right now, but I won’t try holding it for a minute anymore. 30 seconds with proper form does get the shaking going.
I was having trouble figuring out what I'm doing wrong with my planks. This really helped. Thanks so much.
The tilt tip is a game changer!!!!!
Omg! No wonder my lower back has been so tender since I started doing planks regularly 😆 Thanks for your thorough explanation! It really helps us newbies.
Thank you Cori! Great info as usual, I learn new things all the time from you! I did not know about the elbow positioning or heels back, and I’ve been practicing planking a lot so I’m very excited to implement this!💪🏼🙌🏼
Little tweaks can make the difference! And even having options to adjust moves based on our needs. Let me know how it feels doing those adjustments!
I watched this video over a week ago and wanted to apply the techniques I learned from it. I was able to with my coach, tonight during my warm up for boxing lessons. The cupping the hands and elbows out to help support the shoulders, tremendously helped my form. Thank you for sharing this tip. I feel a lot more confident during a plank.
Aw yay! This legit makes me so happy to hear! So glad you used the tips and felt that difference!!
Would love to see one of these videos for fixing bad “desk posture”. Thanks for the videos!
Great idea! :-)
Hi Courtney, many thanks for the video and tips. Great to know these things. Enjoy your day
Thanks! Glad the tips help!
I always felt bad or that I was cheating for holding my hands together but I'm glad to see it's actually beneficial :)
Same
you're the best and your short videos really help, keep it up.
Thank you for this! I'm brand new to planks, and this video really gave me confidence to get started.
I love this channel. Very informative and helpful, also arm goals. 💪🏻
Thank you on all counts :-)
Riiiiiiiight!?!!!
@@redefiningstrengthOC pppppppp
I always get "carpet burns" near elbows when I do planks :(
Yasminh159 me too already scarred
try E-Z Plank it helps and will get you off the carpet.
What isEz plank
Yoga mats help. I often have to fold mine in half and put my elbows on it and it is such a huge relief. My elbows don't feel like they are eating into the floor anymore.
i get bruises near the elbow and knees when i do planks on the floor
Love the clarity in this video and your other ones. Great job! :)
Thank you Aprile!
Really useful - especially the tips about pushing back through the heels and if it's shaking, it's working!
What about side planks? I have so much trouble with these: where to put my feet & stability, etc. Thanks!
Hi Cyndey. I can definitely do a more in depth look at them, but these tips will help you get started - ruclips.net/video/pVh3zBMGrfA/видео.html
@@redefiningstrengthOC please do a more indepth one - i'd really appreciate it as i find side planks tricky for the exact same reasons as Cyndey.
So extremely helpful! Thanks for helping me to wake up my core and get the slouch out of my shoulders! Thank you!!!
Thank you Cori, I love you videos very precise and informative. time well spent. Thank you!
Thank you Tarella! Glad the videos help!
This video was so helpful I only wish I had found it sooner! You're completely right about focusing on planking longer. I've been trying to extend my planking time but I could barely get past 30 seconds. I just tried it again, following these tips and I got to 50 seconds! My max time had been 1m 30s but doing it this way felt so much better than watching the time until it hit a certain number and then trying to push past that lol. This is great improvement! Thank you so much for this video! =D
This was a great video, I have always had a hard time doing a plank. I really got a lot out of it, thank you. Been watching quite a few of your videos recently.
Hi Cori! Have you done a video for releasing/stretching the hip flexors..more specifically the psoas???? LOVE your videos!
There are not a lot of women in whom I find value on fitness related channels. For that matter, there are not a lot of men in whom I find value on fitness related channels!Yours is an extremely significant exception to that. Thanks for your straightforward and scientific approach. It’s much appreciated!
Beautifully clear detailed explanation. You are the first person I have heard say to drive back through your heels. I have been wondering what is the proper position for your feet. Now I know. And it was great to hear hold harder not longer. Of course we have a tendency to think longer is better because we can see it. And I was concerned when I was shaking too, if that was a bad thing. Now I know it's a good thing.
You are an amazing communicater! Thank you 🙏
Thanks!
Thank you so much. We've started a Menopause Plank Challenge (because as bones deteriorate, we really wanted to develop a stronger core). This is such a useful video in that it sets great foundations that I know I may have rushed passed. Thank you for the clarity. Whooo hoo. Abs here we come!

@Redefining Strength: Thanks again, Coach! I'm 9 hrs ahead of you so for me it's already a great start into the weekend, which is very much appreciated. Personally, I'm not much of an early bird but more of a night owl. You too, have a wonderful sunny Friday! 🌻🌞
Your vídeos are always 👍 thank you
Thank you so much
Thankyou this was very helpful as I include planks n side planks in my everyday workout regimen
Great tips ! Was really helpful ..
I did it! Thank you!
Do 2 minutes plank then rest for 30 seconds then 2 minutes again until you meet a total of 10 minutes a day. Abs and triceps will show in 5 days. The abs will not be solid but you can still see it!
U sure we can do that everyday?
@@FatherMighty - Yes, bro! Do it 5 days a week and rest two days. You will see results you wanted bro!
I do it 2 times a day for 3 mins each plank let's see how long before I see the abs
@@shabbircalcuttawala907 - Not bad! Keep grinding bro! You will get there!
@@lilSniper47 thanks buddy I intend to do it for as long as possible I Started out with 90 secs now doing 180 secs each time
Taking notes!!! Appreciate this deep dive!

You said to comment below if you have any questions. Here's my question. My lower back is aches a lot these days because i by mistake used to engage my lower back (i let my lower back take over). What can i do to correct this? I plank for 2.5 mins before each meal in the morning and in the evening
Great info! Thank you! (Subscribed & Liked)
Awesome
Great Advice 👍
As someone with Parkinson's, Plank is a regular part of our exercise regime. For the time before shaking occurs I think there could be other factors contributing as I find Plank harder and reach that point much quicker now 7 years since diagnosis.
You are so awesome and studying your videos have really helped me with my exercise routines....Thank you so much....😊
