    Literally just installed mine tonight, this video was a big help, is there any break in period after installation?

    It's still best to pull the blue "circuit" fuse, start the car and let it die before removing the battery cable to remove excess fuel in the line. Makes it much easier and safer. 🚗💨😉👍

      Just did my fuel pump internals. And apparently the circuit fuse trick to release the pump pressure does not work for gen1's. I pulled the circuit fuse, started the car and it just ran and ran. It really wasn't too my fuel spillage. Just need to have some rags handy. Even after starting the car three times to try to do the circuit fuse trick, it still wasn't too bad. Thanks Corksport for the install vid. It was great to use along side the white paper that came with the internals. 👍

    If I crossed threaded going into the fuel pump housing and slightly damaged it, I’m basically screwed right?

    Why not pull the fuel pump fuse, start the car and let it run until it starves on fuel so there won't be any pressure behind the fuel pump?

    • @intertunetv
      @intertunetv 9 лет назад

      if the battery is disconnected, since you are working on the fuel system - which is good practice... the fuse isn't doing anything important.

    • @guitarmatt0867

      Collin Klopfenstein that's what you should do, I'm not sure why they didn't do that before unhooking the battery

    what happens if you were to install this on a car with no other mods what so ever? would it be helpful? harmful? or just unnecessary? (ms6 for me)

    • @LancelotMooreYorke
      @LancelotMooreYorke 10 лет назад +1

      it would be fine if its your first mod, its needed anyways further down if you're doing more upgrades, but if you're leaving your car bone stock, dont bother installing it

  • @icemn

    how did you tighten to 8ft-lbs with a normal wrench? also has anyone got any feedback to say bout this part is it good ? does the car fill better?

    • @nexa4498
      @nexa4498 7 лет назад +1

      With some wrist gauges.
      The part is really great, and easier to install than Autotech internals due to a more custom and complete design with the included spring and installation tool.
      Some people will say their car feels "smoother", but if this is your first mod (as it should be on a Gen 2) it's more for peace of mind and freedom to mod away in the future knowing your pump won't give out and let the car blow it's engine into bits.

    I bought a speed6 for about a year now came with some after market parts. I was wondering if there is a way to find out if the internal hpfp is swapped out.

    • @corksport
      @corksport  6 лет назад +1

      There is no real way to determine for sure only based on the values from the Fuel Pressure Readings. You will want to remove the pump and inspect the internals yourself. Our internals have an octagonal bottom and a serial number. which tells you really quick. The auto techs have a dual retainer on top as well.

    Question , i installed this on my car and now its ticking , however one thing i didnt to is put that metal bucket inside the fuel pump back again, if i kept it in i wouldnt let me put the fuel pump inside the housing . Is this something i need to be puting back in?

    • @corksport

      You need the lifter in the pump housing. Inspect the camshaft when you take it apart and make sure you did not damage the camshaft or the fuelpump internals.

    • @stevewk
      @stevewk 10 лет назад

      If those are the only mods you are going to do, then it really isn't necessary. If you change your downpipe, you will most definitely need it. The COBB AP3 is a great way to monitor your fuel flow...

    • @trevorshampy1315
      @trevorshampy1315 8 лет назад

      +stevewk2009 False. You will definitely zzb if you don't do that. ANY mod too the motor besides a BPV you will need hpfp. Any mod that makes more hp will need it because the stock fuel internals can't keep up. fuel pressure drop ZZB. The stock fuel internals are very close to not being able to keep up stock.
