Good horse training can look boring because it looks like nothing is going on... lol. That is what you want because if it is exciting to the viewer...typically that means there are things like lots of erratic movement and dramatic moments caused from fear in the horse...and you want to keep those moments to a minimum...especially at the beginning of a horse's education. Some horses have exceptional memory. It is best to fill that memory with good experiences for them to draw on later so they can feel confident.
The name dobby for a big horse makes me laugh because there is this tiny old pony at my yard I used to ride when I was 8 called Dobby😅 tbf tho dobby was great(and still is) I won everything on him when we competed. I’m 16 now and it seems such a long time ago, I think if I got on him now I would squash him even though I’m only 5’0 43kg, he’s so tiny😭 he’s still my bestie though ❤️❤️
It is THE breed developed for racing from Arabian and Turkish oriental horses selected for their speed. There are different lines that do better at different distances. Irish, Canadian, and American horses can be found in the pedigrees of the horses that run in the triple crown. There are Japanese lines that I have heard of as well, but I assume there are more mixes of these countries because of the similar cultures and higher concentration of ppl from these countries moving around in the racing industry, thereby networking. So for example, Canadian jockies may be very successful and want to move to California to ride in races with bigger winnings, and network the lesser known Canadian horses which may be fast but just not as well known. Thoroughbreds are also known for being steadier at jumping and cross country for low level riders and some Thoroughbreds can jump well enough to do high level Eventing. I like Thoroughbreds for low to middle level jumping because when they get scared, they are more likely to jump forward and maybe Slightly to the side rather than, for example, Quarter horses which are just fine stopping on a dime , spinning out from under the rider and running off so fast that the rider can't stay on. Quarter horses are also bred for racing but only short quarter mile distance, barrel racing and gymkhana. American Paint Horses also have lines bred for quarter mile racing.
