he did know that yoda was fiercely powerful in the novelization of the game after he left the cave he was running because he thought that yoda was chasing him
I love the subtle touch here. Yoda is acting like a wise Jedi master that he is, because Starkiller is not the one who he is waiting for. He gives him straight forward (well close enough) directions, but doesn't go overboard with helping him. Then when Luke arrives, he puts on the weird old man act, to test Luke, and is both much more cryptic and much more helpful.
I love that Luke received a vague vision he had no context to, while Galen got a direct scene of what he needed. It speaks to how much a force user’s power can help them understand what they seek.

Because the show wasn't complete trash like the soy wars "trilogy" and manages to be fun (you know the bare minimum for a show) it gets a pass. That is supposedly the "peak" of Disney Star Wars. Give me a break, at this point i wouldn't trust them to produce a commercial for selling water to sand people. If we ever get good star wars again it will be years from now, probably some fan project made by people who actually care and know what they are doing. I would love to see KOTOR, the Shadow of the empire trilogy, Bane's trilogy, or a X-Wing story on the "big screen" for example but Disney would just ruin it. So i dread it rather than look forward to any of it.
Being in exile for a few years really chilled Yoda out. There's clearly a powerfully force-sensitive imperial operative right in front of him but he's just "Eh, dude's here for the cave, not for me. We're cool"
It only makes sense. Yoda is wide enough to know people change. You can start on whatever side of the board you want but you may not always be on that side. Why would Yoda care about a few imperial insignia's? Yoda always struck me as the type to judge someone just as much by what they are as what they could be

It's always been my headcanon that after a point they just stopped caring because they realized he'll probably die of old age in a short amount of time.
I doubt anyone could actually defeat Yoda long enough to bring him in, outside of Palpatine himself; and the Emperor was obviously too busy with day-to-day matters running his empire.

The biggest thing I dislike about him is his power level. Even for generic op video game protagonists he's too strong. Fallen Order nailed that balance. The Jedi Knight games did quite well in that regard too.
I don't think his power is that much. He was strong in the force and was trained by Darth Vader all his life. He still is somewhat below Vader. It's just that TFU games had exaggerated some aspects of Force using compared to movies.
That cinematic,that music ( 3:21 ),those lines,say anything about the Lucas days,but Disney cant beat those days if we talk about soul and scene build.
Jedi: Fallen Order has greater gravitas and respect for the source material than this game. This scene? Fan service. They wanted the gary stu of all gary stus to bump into Yoda, just for recognition points.
I remember this part of the game being an entire mission on Wii. You'd cross caverns with a mirror image of Starkiller, you'd see weird visions, fight Starkiller Hallucinations. But on other platforms this part of the game is just a small area with one hidden Holocron and a couple cutscenes. I wonder why the Wii version is different.

The way he's dressed gives me ROTJ vibes (in a good way). The black suit peeled back to reveal the light-colored shirt underneath, symbolizing his conflict between light and dark...just like Luke's at the end of that movie!

@@DefecTec Honestly Kanan had a lot of potential and an interesting story so he could have gone places Rahm Kota didn't have the time for. The problem is Disney execs love deciding on a character that everyone hates, and making them the focal point of the story out of a sense of justifying their input. So they double down on someone like Rey or Ezra, but hardly give them any growth. The coolest things Ezra did were in relation to who he was with. Maul, Ahsoka, Kanan. And by the time you get to like the 3rd season he's still annoying but now with powers that sometimes outshine those around him, just because. Ahsoka was a kid and at most she was annoying for like a season before they really start to develop her. Considering she grew from the severity of the situations she was in, you'd think Ezra would also grow up fast considering murdered parents and a guerilla style war, but nope this is Disney, so he's gonna be plucky and say dumb shit almost every episode, but don't worry, all the characters you know and love, also inexplicably like and tolerate Ezra. Garbage.
I just want to point out how the cinematographic aspects of this, such as the framing of each shot and how the scene is manipulated are more like the Lucas-era films than any of the Disney-era content and that, along with punchier Ben Burtt-esque audio, really helps sell this as "Star Wars". Even The Mandalorian doesn't get this right.
This scene was a little different in the book. Starkiller had Red Blades, Yoda kinda surprised him and Starkiller ignited his sabers, Yoda stood there with a small smile on his face.
Like Mandalorian, this should've been a series, starkiller has a great story! already got the perfect actor for the role. and it's a darker/more adult story to starwars, less..disney.
Starkiller is canon whether Disney likes it or not and here's why:We all saw in the force unleashed at the end when the rebellion is born,they used his family crescent as their symbol and banner for the rebellion.
What’s even cooler is the fact starkiller was terrified of yoda due to him being so close to a dark side threshold and seemingly unaffected by it therefore representing how powerful a being yoda was.
I tried to do Dagobah using the Luke costume with Yoda on his back (was trying to get screenshots) and the cutscene of Starkiller leaving the ship had bald Luke with demon eyes. Scariest shit I’ve ever seen.
That is reminiscent of the Cave of the Oracle of Delphi where the Oracle sat on a three legged chair straddling a a small crack in the Earth that emitted a mildly hallucinogenic gas that inspired the Oracle's visions.
Yoda doesn't even question the imperial uniform he's just like: "Hey man, force visions are force visions have fun my dude"
I think at that point Yoda was just tired of the Empire's shit and decided to wait for Luke

I tried to do Dagobah using the Luke costume with Yoda on his back (was trying to get screenshots) and the cutscene of Starkiller leaving the ship had bald Luke with demon eyes. Scariest shit I’ve ever seen.
This part of the game felt so rushed and it didn’t have to be there. It was just pure fan service so that you could say Starkiller met Yoda.
