1:21:58 - The rear lat spread convo - in an episode a while back Iain said something that has always really stuck with me since hearing it in regards to a rear lat, he said “A piece of paper is widest, when it is flat.” I think this is a phenomenal way to put it.
The bit with Ben’s Dad was lovely. One thing that Fouad has is his ability to address his personality traits and I am sure that also attributes to a lovely person he is. Most people don’t address their personality traits. This podcast is just different man❤️
The discussion on financial freedom was good. Samson and Ben are both right: 1) work is optional and 2) you need to be able to say when you’ve had “enough” without your appetite for more controlling you Actual financial freedom means you are making enough passive income to cover your expenses. This can come from a number of sources - portfolio income (dividends and capital gains), rental income, royalties, etc. or any combination. So you need to be able name what level expenses you need to cover: 40k/yr? 100k/yr? 250k/yr? A homeless person living on welfare programs is technically financially free, but it’s not the best quality of life. To support a higher quality of life demands more work, until you reach that crossover point of fully covering your expenses. Then work becomes purely optional.
One of the things that made my days better and keep them positive bateries charged is this podcast right besides the Gym&heavy metal music. Thank you Fouad and all the podcast crew for making us laugh, learn new things about bodybuilding, training, diet and life in general.
Great show today fellas, but definitely missing James. The content has been non stop lately as well as entertaining, interesting and informative. Thanks for the hard work you've been putting in lately Hoss!
Hey fouad what about having dexter on the show!? He’s retired now might have some a little extra time to jump on. I’ve been here since episode 8 idk if I missed it Or something if you did interview him
Dexter has a “gangsta mentality”, and doesn’t engage in public conversations that much either. He really only talks to people he already are friends with.
@@MHMHMHMHMHMHMHMH that’s weird I should know that following bodybuilding this long lol but makes sense he does really shy outa instagram but be notices
I always try to go to failure because in reality you rarely go to real failure. If in my head I want to stop 2 reps before failure I would be probably 5 rep from real failure
Touching on the last topic as somebody who had a kid a few weeks ago, my mind has already shifted away from small materialistic things. I used to really want a nice car and flashy stuff, but since my son came along all I care about is being the best version of myself so that I’m a good role model and so my son is proud of me. I’d still love to drive a nice truck some day (I just drive a 2014 Kia right now) but that’s more for comfort, utility, reliability, and safety (4x4 and ground clearance in Canada is pretty important) are the bigger priority over speed and wow factor
having Dex and/or Kai on the show to ask about training and longevity would be awesome , Kai is another one of those whose training seems to keep him mostly injury free and he still could compete
In regards to the conversation of caring about cars and what not when you have kids: I never had any cool cars or hobbies or anything cool during my kid's childhood. All money and time went to paying rent and feeding the family. We were pretty dam tight financially but if you ask my kids they will tell you they had no idea how bad we were struggling. As parents we absorbed all the stress of being broke. Once they both graduated school I then decided it was my turn to have a little fun. And now both of my kids and I are into customized cars. We go to car events together. Both of us parents are also doing better financially so that definitely helps!
Arnold had an insane work ethic also. He was a brick layer and had a string of jobs and businesses while competing to get by. All he has achieved today is testament to it
On the topic of the training debate over the last couple episodes; I heard Dorian Yates say one time he believed guys with really fast metabolisms responded better to a low volume approach because it took them longer to recover. Wonder if there’s anything to that?
The look Samson had when he realised fouad jumps in the shower without wiping 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 mans had that why did I sign on for 4 years look 💀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 always a good laugh boys 🙌🏼
I use to train heavy low volume and then I found Mike Van Wyck a couple years ago and have made more progress in 2 years than I had in 8 training the other way. (6’3 white guy lol)
Catching up on last weeks stuff from our Texas blizzard lol.. annnyways. Ya being with mat as well as being lighter should ease any concern from big flips from a multiple day show.
I think the simplest way to describe financially freedom is the moment someone doesn’t think about money anymore. When you go to the grocery store and just get what you want regardless of what it is and how much. When you spend $1000 and don’t even think twice about how much it was. Of course there’s a limit. Spending a million and not thinking twice is far above financial freedom IMO.
Regarding the cars. Samson said he wants a real fast car for everyday. I think once you have a super car and use it on a day to day basis, you get used to it so much, you can never go back to something "normal". Plus you lose the wow factor. I would only drive it on special occasions or maybe once a week.
I think that with the freedom you'd only want one house because you'd have the financial freedom to experience different locations and not feel obligated to go to the same beach house or cabin because you own it. With financial freedom, I'd see a new place every time.
I think it’s north cold and south warm training style not just ethnicity. In my experience In the south of France most people in the gym trained for the pump while in the north of Sweden most train for strength. In warm climate they care more about aesthetic for the beach while in cold climate they just want to become a bear lol
I think Roman’s emotional state is very much tied to his confidence which in turn is tied to his performance. When he doesn’t perform as he hopes, his confidence goes down and I would guess he stays very much to himself and doesn’t put attention outwards.

for everything you achieved so far.
I am your father
I love that you had Ben's father on, the whole family aspect of all these podcasts is something I look forward to every week
Paul is low key the greatest guest. He is the bodybuilding boomer we all can love, he is like our dad.
With Ben getting off the gear and getting healthy, plus the transplant.
Looks like he is 10 years younger! Good stuff mate
All that's left for him now is to improve his internet connection 😂
I really enjoy hearing Ben talk about Phoenix. Every time I just think, that is a man who loves his son, and it warms my heart
James Hollingshed is missing. Him and Fouad must be fighting 😂 😂 just kidding love the show Fouad you guys always make days better
They must be beefing lol
Absolutely 😂

That Norwegian beef does look good
Fouad, you are so lucky to have Paul as a lifelong friend/training partner. He is a fucking delight and absolutely hilarious.

Love the confidence from Samson. I can't wait to see him take it home
TERRY!!!! What a cameo! 🤣
Gentlemen, thank you all for the entertainment. Wishes for the next 4-5 weeks to go as hoped for Samson!
Samson is so humble. I just keep rooting for him more and more.
Ah, the Brit duo and Paul. One of the more hassle free podcasts Fouad can conduct as a host.
I love how hard Paul is holding on to what little hair he has left.
I noticed Jose didn't shave the other day.
What hair
It’s his hairstyle man. Only Paul can pull it off
But he can get away with it, because he has that hairline that looks fine from a low camera angle.
@@DrunkenPound I don’t think he looks that bad at all. It’s the defensiveness over his hair that I love.
Needed this today, thank you all for making the time and thank you Fouad for scheduling and producing everything.
I literally cried when Terry gave his predictions😂 one of the most wholesome moments ever bring Ben’s dad on the podcast!!
Been waiting to have Ben back on and now Samson and Paul thank you Fouad!
I want to see what Paul thinks of Sampsons shots...
Sampson - that look you get when dad says let's sit down and talk about this report card !
Gotta respect and love how passionate Ben is when talking about his son.
Another awesome show. One of the best in recent months. Never a dull moment
Literally the only thing keeping me going this morning. Really appreciate you guys and this podcast. Have a blessed day bros
Andrew literally got famous for lifting heavy with Larry Wheels. He definitely squats and deadlifts lol
He did 300 kg raw squat with larry…
Samson so sympathic on Buildings Elite Podcast !!

Some of the best moments of my week, is seeing a new B&B, or BC episode on RUclips ❤
Had me dying when Paul said “See Fouad” 😂
Just finished the show and just another good all around show today!

Financial freedom is being able to do whatever the hell you want by my definition. GOALS!
Samson got that Hosstile money 😮💨
Good for you 👏🏼
Poor Paul is in denial about his hair lmao, such a great podcast, always cracking me up
Terry on the next Bro Chat! Or atleast a fill in for Ben when he cant make it
Samson's so big everytime he laughs his screen shakes 😂

I will watched in my phone or tv but it always make my day ❤ The king of Podcast
Samson is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Awesome podcast as usual, I hate them ending to be honest 😆
Looking forward to the next one, Cheers 👍🏾
You guys still don't know a thing about Andrew he was deadlifting and squatting with Larry when they were training partners and Andrew was keeping up
Exactly
perfect timing for Meal 1 here in wisconsin
Terry! Terry! TERRY!! 😂😂 love him
Chris aceto said on HMR that’s an old video of Patrick. 30:00
Arnold had an insane work ethic also. He was a brick layer and had a string of jobs and businesses while competing to get by. All he has achieved today is testament to it
yeah i was a little confused lol arnold arguably had the best work ethic of any bb if we’re talking total volume of work
quote of the show comes from Terry: "Shaun, he's like mighty mouse"
On the topic of the training debate over the last couple episodes; I heard Dorian Yates say one time he believed guys with really fast metabolisms responded better to a low volume approach because it took them longer to recover. Wonder if there’s anything to that?
Paul had to get on so he can change his bets 🤣🤣
Yup
Great having Ben Paul and Samson on
Haven’t seen the UK boys in a while! Let’s go!
The look Samson had when he realised fouad jumps in the shower without wiping 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 mans had that why did I sign on for 4 years look 💀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 always a good laugh boys 🙌🏼
Coming in clutch!
Terry!!! We need him more
Put a link on description for the paul shirt 😂 we’ll support him
i hope samson and andrew will battle it out for the first and second!!!
That would be great. Find out in 5 weeks
doubt it with nick and Shaun, Samson possibly but it wouldn’t surprise me if nick and Shaun are ahead
If he gets his condition in Andrew could destroy. Dunno if he can do that. Not convinced
I use to train heavy low volume and then I found Mike Van Wyck a couple years ago and have made more progress in 2 years than I had in 8 training the other way. (6’3 white guy lol)
Yyyeess! Big love Fouad. Thanks for the podcast. Kindest regards, Richard U.K
Fouad when will you interview your brother. Would love to hear his challenges to success story.
Catching up on last weeks stuff from our Texas blizzard lol.. annnyways. Ya being with mat as well as being lighter should ease any concern from big flips from a multiple day show.
samson so big that when he laughs the room shakes
Love watching these guys on. A quote i heard recently was the end of happiness is wanting things. I let that sink in for a min.
Thoughts?
Flannels are looking pretty nice. When are those officially coming out?
On my birthday at that 👏 thanks big guy 🔥🔥🔥
Happy birthday 🎂 hope you have a great one man
Many happy returns of the day my man 🎂🎉
Love all the content please make big Mike a staple u fits right in❤
Dont comment enough, Thanks Fouad👊🏼
Paulstille is Paul's supplement line lol
58:39 some real best friend shit
That is a bummer no Arnold booth!
Paul's cheat meal protocol rules
Love you guys! You make my day
Whatever happened to the pods from the podcast room at the Olympia ? I assumed they'd be uploaded but never came across them.
Fouad you have to keep us updated where you will be for the Arnold

You are so right Fouad, of course One wants 2 homes at least and a jet💪👊
You should find a local supp shop and do a pop up meet and greet, or gym if you know anyone.
I love that every single podcast at some point Fouad says "I dont want to talk about shit this poodcast" lol
It was just awesome to finally see Ben on. Guy been busy with shit and family. Awesome podcast

Are you uploading anymore podcasts to Spotify?

I think Roman’s emotional state is very much tied to his confidence which in turn is tied to his performance. When he doesn’t perform as he hopes, his confidence goes down and I would guess he stays very much to himself and doesn’t put attention outwards.
