@ThoraxetheImpaile100 i just want him to show up at all. There were 3 loose ends at the end of Crisis Core. Genesis, Cissnei and Deepground aka Weiss and Nero. The last 2 have been revisited and are being set up to get a pay off in part 3. The only one who we haven't seen yet is Genesis.
There was a subtle reference to Genesis in the Loveless play at the Gold Saucer. I believe it was called the Loveless G version or something like that. But it would be cool to see him return in some way since they did Weiss and Nero.

I get it, but I feel like it would've been a little overused. We've had Aerith's reunion with Cloud in Remake, the flowers symbolizing reunion, the reunion of worlds, the Jenova Reunion, Cloud's reunion with Zack. As fitting as it would be, do we really need to use "Reunion" in the title at this point?
I feel thats why it was used, to knock that option since it's a bit obvious. I for one like the word Rewrite for part 3

thats exactly what i was thinking. Revelation seems more fitting and even though it might not fit the Re: titles, it would make more sense to use that title since its the last of the trilogy

You made a lot of great points for Return. I was thinking Restore, Restoration, or Revelation, but I am all aboard the Return of FF7. Return it is! Nothing shall forestall, my Return!

I thought of some of your suggestions as well, but Return just makes so much sense it's staggering. Remake and Rebirth put so much emphasis on the "Re" part of the word and the underlying meaning of something being redone in a way. It's also worth nothing that when verbally saying the words, you actively say RE on it's own, which further highlights the consistent similarities. Words like Revelation or Restoration don't have that punching consistency when saying the word as well as the amount of syllables. "Restore" to me sounds more like a title you put on an earlier part and not a final title and it kind of doesn't really capture the entire significance of the events that happened I feel like...? Like, it lacks this grand meaning to it like Remake and Rebirth have. Return just makes so much sense in about every sense of the word, it being a final title for the series AND in context to the events happening. Even if it's not Return, the one thing I'm 100% certain about is that the title will also have 2 syllables. I actually think that's an often overlooked indicator of the 2 titles we have already. It's compact, easy to remember, grand and conveys all the multi-layers of it all from a marketing perspective. Also there's no way the last songs of the OST thing is a coincidence. If it is, then it's one hell of a bamboozle. God dammit I feel like you could write up whole books of theories. Hell I could even see them using a 3-syllable word to connect it to Reunion to close the gap in some way. But idk, I'm very set on just 2 though.
It can also be referencing Star wars which they said they drew inspiration from and the last movie in that trilogy was called return of the Jedi.
i feel return is the most sensible option and fits well with the others....Remake-Rebirth-Return
I’ve had the feeling it would be ‘Return’ for a while. Apart from the plot resonance, they’ve been leaning a lot into the philosophical idea of ‘eternal return’ as a theme (us being doomed to repeat our mistakes until we come to terms with them, and the nature vs nurture aspect of identity which gets addressed repeatedly).
Interesting. I was thinking along the lines of a kind of eternal recurrence where every time Aerith and Sephiroth try to change their fate, everything follows og, and all coming full circle starting with Aerith meeting Cloud again and again, while for Sephiroth it's a matter of survival, Aerith always being there to meet Cloud in the hope of one breaking the cycle.
Considering the game's theme heavily revolves around memories of Cloud, Zack, Aerith, and the Lifestream, a suitable title and farewell to the FF7 series could be "Final Fantasy VII Remembrance."
Return absolutely makes sense!
So they might really go through the Return of the Jedi route in naming Part 3? I also like the idea of incorporating some Final Fantasy IV elements wherein Cloud’s abilities turn from Dark Knight to Paladin after the Planet heals him following his fall to the Lifestream.
Return, revolution, restore, remember, reclaim, reunite, reborn...so many possibilities for the 3rd part...
Im leaning towards Return now, but I could also see them going with Reunite, in reference to the reuniting of Zack and Clouds worlds, the reuniting of Zack and Aerith maybe, and also for the reunion itself.
i think the black materia might be the way he learns meteor rain possibly? the og had a red tinge around them kinda so maybe? kinda makes sense

Resignation (well, that's not gonna be a good ending, is it?)

FFVII Reclaim will be part 3’s title
I like “reclaim” or I believe Max theorized “Remembrance” which has a nice sound to it imo
@@warfionproductions6580 I can see Remembrance also working. I like Reclaim, because Sephiroth wants to reclaim the planet. It doesn’t mean he’ll be successful, but the titles in each installment hints towards his goal.
Reclaim doesn’t fit the themes of FF7. It won’t be that
One Winged Angel - Rebirth was track #10 on disc 7.
The final track is #24 on disc 8 and it's called The Midgar Blues.
Return, Reborn or Restart are my guesses.
I honestly think return is prob gonna be it. My other options were revelations bc that seemed fitting, or remembrance bc in the original 2015 E3 trailer they say something like “with each fond remembrance” and I could see them throwing in a little Easter egg back a decade ago about what the third game would be lol either way, I’m so excited!
if anything, Cloud will have a different playstyle for the first part of the game and changes it yet again for the later part. so potentially we get two playable versions of cloud.
"Return" is also similar to two other legendary trilogies that FF takes cues from, LOTR and Star Wars. Both of their 3rd stories had "Return" in their title, so I'm going with either that or "Return of the _____"
You know, they brought a lot of elements from other FF games into FF7 Rebirth. You had the scene from Vector in FF6 with the dude tricking the guards so you could sneak over some pipes right at the beginning, they brought Gilgamesh over from FFV of course (but that's just obligatory for FF games at this point), and they brought in an FF8/9 style card game. If they bring over one thing from FF4 it could be Cloud getting a gameplay transformation from a dark knight (black materia integrated into the buster sword) to a Paladin (white materia instead).
Good connections, I didn't even catch the Broden/Vector similarity and I had a very similar idea about Cloud's sword and the black materia. I hypothesized he would start part 3 using darkness attacks akin to Sephiroth thanks to it and overall acting very cold until his redemption returned him to being a stronger Normal Cloud. A great homage to FF4.
With people talking about how Cloud would be utilizing the Black Materia into his combat style, it never occurred to me that he could do the same for the White Materia. Would it even be possible for someone other than a Cetra to use at least a fraction of its power?
I'd add Aerith doing an opera bit to the surprise of her teammates up there as a nod to Celes.

Also when we go to Wutai in part 3 the devs need to have Cloud, Yuffie, and all the other party members on deck for Wutai.
Even if they change his moveset to be more aggressive, I don't think it would last long since Rebirth ends with them already going north towards the Northern Crater, and after that moment (and Mideel after that), Cloud goes back to normal. I mean they could add stuff before they get to the crater (rocket town maybe?), but we'll see
I think it could be revelation. I think a lot depends on what happens in Ever Crisis and if they decide to remaster or remake doc and bc from the compilation

Operator is Zack style Punisher is Sephiroth style. After falling in the lifestream in part 3 and getting out back together, he will probably lose Punisher Stance. (He will get something similar, probably but named differently and a esthetically different I bet?)
I think the original CRISIS CORE buster sword & CRISIS CORE REUNION buster sword designs are hints that even those games are altered timelines/realities
Also should be noted that summoning materia does not go into slots like other materia do in the Remake games.
Crisis Core: Revive.. oh well.. too late. Still works for part 3 under these same circumstances.
The title FF7 Return is giving me major Return of the Jedi vibes. I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see Sephiroth die putting an end to Jenova much like Vader sacrificing himself to stop Palpatine. I suspect we're going to get some kind of back story with Vincent being revealed as Sephiroth's father, and the possibility that Sephiroth has mostly been acting as an extension of Jenova's will. during the Nibelheim flashback in both Remake and the original game, as well as during Crisis Core, Sephiroth seems to think that he is the last of the Cetra, and is the one meant to inherit the planet followed by murdering the population of Nibelheim in revenge for what "He" believes the humans did to the Cetra. However something has always seemed off to me about that scene. Sephiroth always seems to be acting dream like, like he's not completely focused on what is going on around him, talking to his, "Mother" and behaving like she can actually hear and respond to him even though realistically, he should know she is dead.
A few more points of contention that Sephiroth isn't the one in control at that time was his sloppy way of disposing of Tifa and Zack. Injuring them but not finishing either one off, especially when there was no reason for him not to do so simply because the story dictated that he not end them like he did the Nibelheim villagers. Then we have the fact that Cloud, a normal every day guy gets the jump on Sephiroth and delivers a fatal blow from behind simply because Sephiroth wasn't paying attention? Lastly we have to take into account what I would call the smoking gun. Sephiroth's removal of Jenova's head for the reunion. It was only a theory, but it would have been a theory that only Hojo and Gast would have had, and only would have come about after the discovery that Jenova wasn't one of the Cetra. Meaning that Sephiroth would have had no way of knowing about the reunion theory without also knowing that there was no way that he was the last of the Cetra as well, unless his actual mother Lucrecia was one of the Cetra herself, (She does kind of look like Aerith and Ilfana.)
Once Sephiroth gets tossed, (Or jumps) into the raw Mako in the reactor, he never again mentions being one of the Cetra. It's almost like it never happened. Afterwards, Sephiroth plans to destroy the planet with the Black Materia and become a God by absorbing the Lifestream. After that, Sephiroth plans to travel the cosmos like, "His mother" and create a shining future and a new planet. I'm personally seeing nothing but the will of Jenova being acted out through Sephiroth as of this seems to reflect Sephiroth as he is depicted in the Nibelheim flashbacks or in Crisis Core. People will say that Sephiroth just went crazy in that library but if I'm being honest, that just seems too boring for one of gamings most recognized and beloved villains and really doesn't have any sort of reason to change the story the way they have been during this trilogy. It just doesn't justify all the crazy shenanigans with the whispers, the Harbinger of Fate, the multiple dimensions, the whole Aerith and Red XIII being able to see the future, (Marlene too actually.) now we have this white whispers vs the black whispers, Cloud being able to see Aerith when no one else can, and now lastly, Sephiroth is now is saying that he wants to protect and preserve the planet, but then why is he still after the Black Materia? (Unless of course he's just lying to Cloud but Cloud has no reason to believe Sephiroth.)
Maybe I'm reading too deeply into this and am looking for patterns where there are none. It's entirely possible that I'm just setting myself up to be disappointed for this trilogies conclusion but having your villains back story be, "This guy had a bad day at work and is now a Holier than thou, egomaniacal maniac, bent on global destruction and obtaining Godhood." just hasn't ever sat right for me. Everyone loves Sephiroth but never wants to talk about his backstory because everyone knows it was lame.

Sounds better than what I was thinking the title would be. I was guessing Journey's End, but Return sounds better.

They are really leaning into the Cloud= the “Dark Knight” class of the series I think for the third game cloud will play more and more like a dark night like in FF14 and they may set him up for a FF4 transition/redemption from Dark Knight to Paladin
People are saying it will be called Reborn because that’s the name of Sephiroth theme in this as Rebirth was in Remake. But people don’t seem to know how English works. Reborn is the SAME MEANING as Rebirth. It’s just the adjective. It would be like using Remade after Remake. It’s the same word. Just stop guessing reborn guys. They’re not going to use the same word twice. It’s nonsense
Hey C.C love your work, gonna be an annoying Chadley and like to assert a possible name and intent of the next game based on discussion with streamer/community, sourcing FF7 material and days of Jp/Eng cutscene transcripts and video timestamping for comparisons. think I got a further alternative/options to what is the 3rd installment, I dont think it will be called word for word: Return, because precedence of 1st and 2nd instalment was not based on song name or an exact name copy of a FF7 detail per se. I got two sources of evidence, but won't say yet in case wrong channel/not appropriate. Will continue discussion with own streamer's community and see if Square picked up my fan mail with a LOL reply. Hint: My sources are from FF7 material itself, not hearsay.

Well if the story continues to what it normally would, he gives the cocoon Sephiroth the Black Materia early on, heading to the north crater after the Forgotten City. Who knows how they’ll have things go with Rocket Town not gone to yet.

I always assumed OST rebirth's materia was a phoenix summon, it is called "rebirth" after all. Remake's would be a fire magic since that's all you start with in the buster sword.
It is likely Return but I’m also thinking it could also be Resolve or Revive or Reveal…
there are Names which in my Opinion are possible too: Redemption, Restoration, Recovery, Rebellion
The only thing Return doesnt have is that element of “creation” that re-MAKE and re-BIRTH have. But you could argue it still has the idea of a “remake” in that playing through a remake is in a sense “returning” to the game.

Final Fantasy 7: Requiem seems like a good name for part 3 given its context.
They can only name it reunion when they unite the parts to one save file. Reunion is the best name, and crisis core should have no effect on it.
Realised today that if the parts remain separated, you will never have a party with Cid/Vincent and/or Aerith.
The project would be so much grander if it was hard mode locked for many things...

Sounds plausible. I'm going with Reclaim. --- Cloud will Reclaim his mind, Aerith may Reclaim agency over her own fate (and stay alive in some form), and the Planet will Reclaim control over Sephiroths/Jenovas shenanigans within it.
Cloud fighting style might change. When his true personality is revealed.
In the end Zack and Aerith are meant to die.

It's generic, but since Reunion was already taken apparently... I wouldn't put it passed the developers for name 3 as, "Final Fantasy VII: Revelations"
Even though the words have completely different meanings, return seems too much like rebirth (akin to reborn) to “me.” Not saying it’s wrong (def fits the narrative) but i feel like they would use something else. I also think they are OCD so it’s likely going to be 2 syllables. (& quite possibly why they gave CC Reunion knowing it would fit better here)
My intuition was always return. As much as I like the following:
Revive, Revival, Re:Raise.
We will have:
Remake of FF7
Rebirth of FF7
Return of FF7
Has the "RE", 2 syllables, and the phoenix like re:raise quality.
I think many are stuck on reunion even though the devs used that for crisis core. Even using "Reunite" feels redundant.

I don’t know about the RE-tag, but it makes sense to have the accenting color be purple. It’s dark and fits with the SOLDIER class structure. 3rd is blue, 2nd is red, 1st is purple.

They made the uniforms much darker in the remake, but no originally it was more a purple. Even in rebirth though in some lighting you can see hues of purple. Just google it and you’ll see
