    Gautam you will give bear grylls a real complex (man vs wild show). He does his stunts with lots of support from his production team, but here you are doing those awesome climbing ,trekking, shooting with your camera everything without any help ! You are really awesome!

    • @GautamKhetwal

      yes, every thing has to be done twice and more if i forget to switch on the camera ;), yes 7:39 had to keep camera at base and return back to pick up. my camera has taken more falls than me in valleys. have many hard time finding it :)

      How can one climb carrying tripod in one hand and camera in the other? Most impressive. Obviously, a great deal of hand carving went into these steps, so it is a shame that the Brits did so much damage with explosives. As they did all over India, I suppose.

    If you did this Trek filming alone ...then by far you are best in perception. Trekking this difficult fort is a lifetime time achievement many would dream of. I am one who was not able to do this in my prime time ..let's see in future I may try as you made it very informative. The climb on the overhang is challenging ...hats off to you for filming your own climb.

    Gautam , by now, i m definitely a fan of yours.... Your excellent ' Irshalgad images' lead me to one video to another .....you transmit every little thrill through your amazing filming.
    i have seen all ( the climbs).... some of which i went through a few times over and over, but,. this one had my hair standing , especially when you ran out of steps.....you were lucky that its was'nt windy.
    And like you say, ' one must have immense respect for these mountains....every climb requires that ' oneness ' with the mountain.....
    i'm sure your are a mountain goat incarnation. This one ....Wow!!! really the input of focus and the mental ........especially because you did'nt use any ropes...And, it was quite important that you mentioned the cautions/ and risks even for seasoned climbers....Thankyou for all these inspiring moments. i'm building my projects to do the ones around Panvel , most probably around October. Thanks to you.....
    Here , i do the smaller part of the Alps..... ' Chamechaude ( 2080 metres above sea level )' in the Chartreuse massif is so far the highest i've trekked. You can also do the ' Grand som ' around 2026 mts , you have a great view from both the peaks , you can see the whole chain of the alps and the snowcapped Mont Blanc.
    i've also done various others around Chartreuse . We can definitely do it in a secure way. Though a few people have lost their lives especially when the snow begins to melt at the end of Spring. lack of visibility, bad weather , inattention etc .. However , these are not even half risky /dangerous as the Sahyadris.
    Here , we can minimising the risks that could endanger your life. by proper planning, equipements , right shoes ,checking the weather reports etc . Ofcourse without losing the thrills.... ( i discovered the video of Ruchita Gupta's misadventure. which was very saddening. ).
    Wonder what's on your list next.....You seem to a kind of Shivaji Yourself.
    All the best, and many blessings.

    • @GautamKhetwal
      @GautamKhetwal  7 лет назад +3

      Hey thanks for watching. yes this was a bit difficult but worth taking the risk. place is very beautiful and will look more beautiful in monsoon. Nice you do treks in alps. mountains are beautiful place to be in for peace. try irshalgad or kalavantin if you are going to do trek in panvel, they are unique. misadventure usually do not happen if you take calculated risks. :)

    Though we normally associate forts/ mountains with toughness, control and power, these is much, much more to them.
    The grandeur, natural beauty, liveliness they showcase; various feelings they generate- ranging from terror, fear, awe, curiosity, amazement to admiration, respect, fondness, love, worship are just amazing!!!
    Our ancestors had enormous respect and infinite love towards our mountains. It shows in how aesthetically they created these marvellous forts. They loved, worshipped, fought for and even died for these forts. That makes these forts as not just any random scenic places but the places of great admiration, respect and divinity !!!
    My sincere appeal to all the viewers: While visiting Sahyaadree (सह्याद्री) range forts (and for that matter, any forts), one MUST remember this divinity and show utmost RESPECT!!!
    Kudos to Gautam Khetwal for making such fabulous videos on Sahyaadree (सह्याद्री) mountain range!!! Wishing many more wonderful and fabulous treks. Keep on spreading positive vibes which viewers must definitely be getting on watching the beloved mountains!!!

    Nice & exiting videoshoot of bhairavgad.I with two other colleague visited bhairavgad yesterday.path towards bhairavgad is easy & straigh well marked.but we lost on reaching platue & misreading road started ascenind through scree on west side.It really difficult & dangerous from westside. Finally we got main path & r proceeded on east side.In between we noticed lost path coming from right side.We descended this path. few steps are very narrow.at overhang climbing Due to bolt support i didnt find hard to ascend except you have to push your body on upwards side. But for me while decending overhang climb it is also easy to come down & stand with bolt support but it is diificult ito access two narrow step because wall in not straight & pushes body backwards So balancing body & keeping foot on narrow step & then getting down is challenging task.It is tricky to get down than ascending overhang.Otherwise exciting trek.There is a water cistern before Bifurication of right side & westside path just below starting of bhairavgad on upperside which is full of water.Water is potable & cold.We drank that water.this water cistern Doent get noticed easily as it is inside rock on upperside just little hight On path.overall It was exciting trek.

    • @GautamKhetwal
      @GautamKhetwal  6 лет назад

      thank you very much, yes the overhang is short and you have to push yourself, balance is important, great you did it, yes west side is scree as i showed in video one can slide too :), one can climb the west face pinnacle and descent from east only if one is good at climbing like alex or chris, the east side steps are easy and exciting both :)

    Gautam
    Bhairavgad is most difficult climbing destination isn't it if climbed with out rope in sahyadri.?
    Lingana is tougher one but very few people try with out ropes.
    Alangs 50ft wall is toughest if tried solo.
    What is your opinion?

    • @GautamKhetwal
      @GautamKhetwal  4 года назад +1

      bhairavgad is easiest of all, where as lingana is moderate to tough, alang is tough where as tailbaila is also tough. however bhairavgad and lingana can be done without ropes however for general public ropes are required for all climb, bhairavgad is the easiest of all and does not require ropes only if you arent afraid of height :)

      nope, no ropes required, you have to grab the steps above and pull yourself up just like a pullup bar. only one leg stays outside. was solo so could not film that. it is quite easy for people above 5.7. people with height lower than that might face problem pulling up :)
